We were very pleased with the work performed.  They performed all the work in about 3 days from start to finish and started the work actually a week earlier than they originally scheduled (a very nice surprise).  We would definitely utilize Dave (and team) again!

As I said above, they were fast, punctual and the deck went up on time and as described. They understood what I wanted and I was pleased with the look when it was finished.

I cannot say enough good things about this company, from the beginning they were extremely easy to deal with and very professional.  Don helped us plan out what we wanted to do and recommended the best material for the job.  During the project  we made a large change that caused them some rework.  Again, they were very nice and gave us an updated quote and did the additional work.  After the project was complete and I had fully paid, there were some minor adjustments that needed to be made.  Don came out and made the adjustments. 

I was talking to Don about some of the other services he provides such as roofing.  So he took a look at my roof and on his own he fixed some issues he saw that could have caused potential leaks.  Again they are just a great company to deal with.

They truly stand behind their work!  The Deck is amazing!

This project went pretty well. Don & his guys showed up early Monday morning, and got right to work. I had an 8 foot closet which was (for the last 100 years) only accessible via a ~30" door. I had them remove the existing door, and cut open the wall to install 6' bi-fold doors. The work went quickly and smoothly. He used a sub-contractor for the molding and door installation, and due to his schedule, he was delayed a work day in wrapping up the work. The quality and price were great. My only complaint was that the existing wood floors in the closet got scratched up during demolition as they were not protected. I put up my own plastic wall to seal off the rest of the bedroom, and I'm glad I did or else everything would have been covered in plaster dust! (The guys cleaned up everything as they went along in their work area).

Don and his workers did an excellent job in all areas.  Don keeps a close watch on work being accomplished and moves  the project along.  We made modification to plans as we went along and these were accomplished without any problem.  We had no target completion date but everything was completed in a timely fashion.  Even after work was complete we had to have a modification to deck which was accomplished within a few days of contact and then there was a follow-up call to us to make sure we were satisfied.

I was looking for a company to remove a window in my den and install a door so I would have access to my fenced in backyard without having to walk out the side door and around the house to the back to let out my dogs.  As a Schnauzer Rescue with three little guys to take care of, it's much easier to open the back door and let them out than to leash three dogs up several times a day in the cold weather!  I found Borowske Buidlers on Angie's list along with a group of companies. Some called, others never bothered.  Dave called me immediately and set up an appointment to do an estimate.   I received three estimates in total.  Two from Angies list and one from an ad in a local paper.

Dave was professional, on time and before he did anything he took the time to listen to what I wanted so he could provide me with a complete quote.  Dave gave me the quote and I agreed to move forward.  He let me know that due to his current work load, it might be a couple of weeks before he could schedule the work.  

As promised, Dave scheduled the appointment, walked me through what I would expect and then appeared when he said he would!  He performed the work, cleaned up after he was finished and built gorgeous steps. 

I couldn't be happier!  The right prcie, the right company!  I'll use them again and again - next spring I'm thinking DECK!

The deck is beautiful, and we are so impressed with the excellent workmanship.  These people were a joy to deal with, and I heartily recommend them as one of the best!

Mr. Borowske was punctual, very professional, listened to what I wanted and gave me a couple of scenarios with my door and the steps.  Wrote out something while we stood in the kitchen (I have no furniture presently :-( ) and gave me a quote on the spot.  I am using the 203k loan process, which he was not familiar with, and so I'm going with another contractor because they are experienced in that process.  He was very willing, however, to look at the paperwork and become familiar with it.  It's just that I have a deadline for myself of being in my new home by Thanksgiving! :-) and I don't want to delay the process further.

I think his quote was a bit high considering it was just a 176 sq ft deck.  I can't see how that equates to $6,300 when others have gotten bigger decks for less.  So you may want to get an explaination for that.  I didn't bother because of my above mentioned reasons, but I'm sure he's absolutely excellent at what he does as others, who've actually had work done, say about him.

Borowski Builders installed a 16x16 wood deck with a 5’ privacy wall on the back of our house. Don and his crew were diligent, honest, accommodating and great to work with.  We pulled in several contractors for bids for our new deck. When Don first arrived he had ample photos of previous work demonstrating great craftsmanship and quality of various decks. He was very polite and honest in any questions we had when designing the deck. He provided valuable feedback as well as suggestions and considerations to keep in mind for the different designs we went through. His aptitude in explaining and assisting us with our questions and providing great examples of work won us over from the other contractors we meet with.   Throughout the entire course of the project any questions or concerns that we had, Don and his team promptly answered. The team was always on time and arrived when they said they would. They did a great job in cleaning up the area and left us little to nothing to do once they left. Don stopped out to make sure we were comfortable with the final product and to see if we had any questions.   The finished product looks amazing and we truly love our new deck. We get many compliments on the architecture and quality of the deck. Both my husband and I’s expectations were greatly exceeded and that is not easy to do! I would not hesitate to hire Borowski Builders again for future work the final product was truly remarkable.

Having expected a quite expensive job, obviously I felt much relief and gratitude for his honestly.

I contacted Borowske Builders to bid a major remodel project in Ohio City. Scheduled and appointment with Don to review the project, including site evaluation and plan review. Don was on time for the appointment, but asked virtually no questions while we discussed the scope of work. He agreed to provide a written estimate within two weeks. After the verbal deadline was missed, I tried to call Don, and left messages. I finally received a call back, 4 weeks after the initial meeting in which Don informed me that he would not be submitting a bid because he did not have the time for such a large project, and could not justify hiring additional employees for the project. I was extremely disappointed in how the process was handled by Borowkse Builders. It should not have taken 4 weeks for Don to determine he would not be sumbitting an estimate.

We found Don Borowske very easy to work with.  He was very professional and receptive to our ideas.  Don strongly suggested we use Colonial Cabinets for our cabinetwork, as he uses them almost exclusively.  We had special requests and the cabinets were made exactly to meet our requirements.   They are exceptional! 

Don was very organized and took special precautions to protect our existing floor from damage during the project.   He did his best to keep the dust to a minimum and contained in the kitchen area..  He kept us informed and advised dates and times for tear down, drywaller, electrician, plumber, painter, granite installer and tile installer. 

The entire project was completed in about 6 weeks and we are very pleased.

Everyone that has seen our new kitchen has commented on how lovely it looks and especially how beautiful the cabinets are.

The whole remodel process was a very positive experience. Before we signed our contract, Don took us to a home with a similar style of kitchen to the one we were considering, and we saw the quality of the cabinets and overall workmanship.  We asked if the entire project could be complete within 3 months of signing the contract, and three months later the kitchen was party-ready.

Don coached us through all phases of the process, telling us what needed to be selected and when, and once the project was underway, he gave us an accurate overview of  upcoming activities, telling us who would be here, what time to expect them, etc. Everyone we worked with (cabinet maker/installers, granite supplier, fabricator, tile/decorator) was very helpful; they seemed genuinely interested in our project and to like working with Don and his clients.  All the subcontractors (painters, carpenter, electrician etc) were polite and personable, cleaned up after they finished each day, and did an excellent job.  More than once, I heard a contractor say that Don wants the job done right.  Don was very easy to reach if there was something to discuss, always professional and truly a pleasure to work with during the project.

Don came to our home, listened to what we wanted to do, showed us photos of his deck work and made some suggestions.  Don returned a second time to our home, once my husband and I were certain of size and design.  At that visit Don gave us an exact quote, we signed a contract and gave a deposit. Once our pool was installed (the date at the time of meeting with Don was not known), we called Don and a date was set.  Despite heavy rains, Don and the crew were punctual - showed up exactly when they said they would -  worked hard and built a beautiful deck in just a few days. When we discovered that our pool steps were too short, making the step up to the deck too high, David (the crew leader) worked with me, giving options and explaining things to me, so that I could relay the info to my husband on the phone.  I was impressed with David's patience and the amount of help he offered, talking with my husband on the phone so that we could make the best decision.  In the end the step up is just perfect and we LOVE our new deck....   We were also thrilled with the clean up. Everything was taken away and tidied up perfectly! 

Don showed up when he said he would, did what he said, and the result was of the highest quality.  I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Overall, the job went very well. The job was completed on-time. Don Borowske gets an excellent rating because of his professional manner and responsiveness. We were in frequent contact, communicating and making any appropriate adjustments as necessary. For example, when the wrong faucet arrived and the granite counter did not have a hole for the soap dispenser, I called him. Within a day or two, the proper faucet arrived and the soap dispenser hole was drilled and then fitted. Don's team of cabinet makers, flooring specialists, electricians, plumber, painters, carpenters and laborers produced a unique, functional, and beautiful kitchen, dining room, living room, hallway, and bathroom remodeling job.

Borowske Builders did a fabulous job on our addition and patio. The new room looks as if it has always been part of the house. We were very happy with quality of work done. From start to finish the work was done in a very professional and timely matter. Don and his crew and subcontractors were great. Borowske Builders will be highly recommended to anyone looking to remodel or add addition to their home.

Because I was out of town on business, we took care of this business transaction all by phone and Dan was able to complete the job very quickly, in between his more time consuming work. I never met Dan face to face, but I feel as if I know him. My family and I will always be grateful for the excellent work he and his crew completed, on very short notice, and in a professional way. (My father was a realtor and builder so I recognize quality work when I see it. I am very aware of what can also go wrong. Because of the urgency of the project, I took a leap of faith and my parents' home was well rewarded with a fine job at a fair price.) Dan and his crew are excellent. The porch fence looks great and matches the style of the house. It was installed beautifully. His price was exactly on target for the work. Everything was tidy when I returned home. Dan is a man of his word, who builds a quality product and is completely reliable. i would use his company again in a heartbeat!

Borowske Builders handled this remodel for me from beginning to end ensuring that all the sub-contractors work was properly completed at time promised. They handled any questions I had along the way in regard to services that were being performed. Don called me on a regular basis to confirm that I was pleased with the progress and to inquire if I had any questions or problems along the way. The job was completed in the timeframe that I requested and I couldnt have been happier. I utilized this company twenty five years ago for a sunroom and deck job and I am so happy and satisfied that I utilized them for this job also. I would highly recommend them to others. Their professionalism is the highest I have witnessed in this industry.

We were very nervous taking on such a big renovation of our home. I did my research and asked all the folks that lived near me who they had used and how happy they were with the results. There were not many people that were happy with what was done. Borwoske builders had a good review from a neighbor. I called Don and he was very good about responding and showed up on time when to talk about what I was looking to do. We spent a few hours talking about what I was looking to do...and Don provided many different ideas of what was possible. Don had countless photos of other work that he has done and I did visit 2 other homes to discuss how they felt about Borowske builders...both were happy with the work. Don gave an estimate and project time line with his quote. From the day the work started, Don and his crew were at the house everyday Monday through Saturday. It took 3 months exactly as he said it would. The project came in on budget...although I did go over the initial quote slightly as I decided to add a new front door in addition to what we had initially discussed. It was one of those situations of if I am doing all this work, I might as well add a new front door as well. We were very happy with the work, the quality and how it was completed in a timely fashion. It was a major project and we could not be more happy with the new space in our home. I would highly recommend Borowske Builders.

We called Borowske Builders and left a message asking them for a quote on building deck on the back of our house. Don Borowske returned our call promptly and we arranged an on-site visit. When Don arrived, he listened to our ideas on what we wanted and took notes (most impressive!). He gave us a verbal quote during that visit. We called back within a few days to let Don know we wanted him for the job. He wanted to give us a written quote and since we were going out of town for an extended stay, he arranged his schedule to bring the quote. Once we'd signed, it was agreed the work didn't need to be done for at least 5 or 6 weeks because of our schedule. When we returned home, Don scheduled our job. He arrived with about four others and the deck was finished within a day and a half. The deck is beautiful, exactly what we wanted and at a fair price. We've received many compliments from others as well. Besides the excellent workmanship, we were very pleased that Don took notes and referred back to them making sure all along the way we were getting what he promised. The job was done neatly and everything cleaned up afterwards. (not to mention that when the workers used our bathroom, they left it spotless!)

Great experience!! Don was on time, professional and did extremely good work. I have and would highly recommend him to anyone. I got Don's name from a person on our street. Don has done multiple jobs on my street which is a testiment to him. Furthermore we have 4 kids and Don went out his way to work around any issues we had during the process Don has also done other small jobs in my house. I have asked Don to remodel my basement this January.

We hired Borowske Builders to replace an existing two-tier deck with a covered gazebo off a walk-out lower level with a covered deck off our kitchen (second story) and a patio below the deck. We had a general idea of what we were looking for when we contacted Borowske Builders, but Don Borowske provided all the assistance we needed to make our backyard renovation dreams a reality. At the initial consultation, Don brought hundreds of photos for us to search through for ideas. The photos provided us an excellent opportunity to visualize what would work for our yard and what would not. Don's input, along with the photos, helped us choose between wood vs. composite decking; stone pavers vs. stamped concrete for the patio; and roof vs. no roof. Don and the photos were also a tremendous help in finalizing all the details of our backyard renovation. Don seemed to have a photo for anything we mentioned wanting for our deck or patio. We first contacted Don at the end of August, and construction started by mid-October. They demolished the existing structure in just one day! They also hauled away all of the materials from the prior deck that same day. Construction on the new deck and patio progressed rapidly. Each day I could not wait to come home from work and see all that was done. The bulk of the renovation was completed in less than 3 weeks. Don and his crew have to be the most industrious and professional individuals in the business. The finished product is more fabulous than I ever could have imagined, and the quality is simply superb! Our new deck consists of a 6' x 4' landing/platform off the kitchen leading to a 16' x 16' wood deck covered by a roof. We knew we wanted a roof over the main deck, but we also wanted the sunlight to still reach the kitchen. Don did an amazing job of designing the deck so that both of our desires were satisfied. Now I love seeing the sunlight stream in through our new sliding glass doors, also installed by Don. I cannot begin to describe how awesome the roof is. It looks as though it is actually part of the house, like an open-air sunroom. Don gave us the idea to have windows in the peak of the roof to allow even more light onto the deck and into the kitchen (through the remaining window). The windows were one of many brilliant suggestions brought to the table by Don. Unlike the roof over our former gazebo, our new roof has rain gutters. The guys Don hired to install the gutters were extra cautious to direct the gutters away from the landscaping so that our newly laid mulch would not be washed away. All the attention to minor details such as that were truly appreciated! The patio is just as amazing as the deck. Prior to our initial consultation with Don, we had no idea what type of material we wanted for the patio - cement, stamped concrete or pavers. Don guided us in making a choice that was cost-effective yet high-quality. We opted for stone pavers. We loved the stone Don selected for us so much that we asked him to use that same stone to create walkways on either side of the patio. Don was very accommodating. Don also helped us choose the material and color for our railings. We ultimately chose vinyl railings in white and are very pleased with the result. We have received so many compliments on our deck and patio so far! Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the quality and design of our deck and patio. We have already recommended Borowske Builders to all of our family, friends, and neighbors. Also, we will most certainly hire Borowske Builders for any future projects at our home, including window replacement, kitchen/bathroom renovation, or a sunroom.

We had a lot for several years, with the idea of building a new home. Never did find a floor plan that would get us what we had in our minds. We decided to look into renovating our existing house. We were looking for contractors that dealt with additions. We had talked to a few, and received Don?s name from a neighbor. We had watched Don and his crew do work for them. After several planning sessions with Don, in which he would rough sketch a plan, we had settled in on one. Don was able to provide not only pictures of work he had done, but provided the name and address of one that was similar to what we were thinking of doing. Good thing, because we didn?t like the resulting floor plan. Back to work, and with Don?s help, we settled in on a plan that we were very excited about. This project was large, in that it touched nearly every living space in our house. Kitchen and eating area totally redone (50% more space, new lighting, cabinets, granite counter tops, island, floor, walk-in pantry, and appliances). Family room totally redone (fireplace torn out and replaced with a more contemporary look, windows added, ceiling lighting added, door to patio replaced to provide access to new sunroom). Flooring in laundry room and hallway replaced. Don provided a wider access from the kitchen to the formal dining room. New fixtures in downstairs bath. New hardwood floors in kitchen, eating area, and foyer. Upstairs baths updated (new cabinets, floors, fixtures). Even our upstairs master bedroom had some changes, since the sunroom addition?s roofline cut into the window area. And, the centerpiece of the project was a large, airy, all season sunroom with access from the kitchen and family room, and door to the new patio. Here Don was extremely helpful in planning the look and feel of the addition. Windows, trim, skylights, heating requirements. And, he worked with us to provide a ?temporary? deck, enough to pass building codes, while we were starting to investigate what our patio would look like (next years project). Don kept us informed when workers were scheduled and he made sure they completed their work to our satisfaction. Like all big projects, there were a few items that needed his attention, which he corrected without hassle. I have used Don for some smaller projects since this work, and would recommend him without hesitation.
