My husband used to be in the construction and home building trade and we were very particular about who we would select to perform the work.  After interviewing several contractors, we settled on Donald Borowske Builders.  His team was very professional and thorough from start to finish.  He did an exceptional job.  He went above the required standards for construction.  He had his own team of workers and only sub-contracted the roof and aluminum siding.   The roofers did a great job.  The aluminum siding professional's work was exceptional incasing the posts with aluminum and matching and replacing siding on the exsiting house. Very impressive.  We would definately use Borowske Builder again and would highly recommend him to others.

Their bid was not the lowest, but was the most comprehensive and professionally done.  We had questions and concerns about material choices for the floor portion of the job and David Borowski researched the different options and found one that satisfied both the budget and the aesthetics of the job.  The lighting request was added to the job post-bid, but was accommodated.  David Borowski was the only person with whom we dealt, and he was very knowledgable and professional.  The quality of the work done was exceptionally fine and the clean-up was thorough.  We were pleased with every aspect of this job.
We plan to re-do a bathroom in the next year or two, and Borowski Builders will be our first choice.

I called Don Borowske.  He was very nice and gave me the phone number of David Masseria Drywall Company.  I called and within a few days, two drywall repairmen came out.  It was a father and son, Chris and unfortunately I can't remember the other's name.  They were great, very courteous and pleasant and they certainly know their trade.  They repaired the hole and blended it in with the rest of the ceiling so you'd never know it was repaired.  I would definitely use Borowske Builders and David Masseria again and I highly recommend them.

Don wrote the proposal in May , he showed us pictures of many similar jobs and samples of decking. He recommended the brand of decking, windows, doors, skylights.The job was started in September as planned. Don and his crew were at my house by 7:30 each day.Don kept me informed about each step. The job included dismantling my existing deck, keeping half of the framing for the new deck. They took 1/2 of one day for that phase. They dug the foundation on the next day. The new foundation is block and brick with a cement floor. Then the framing of the new room came a few days later including the windows, doors and skylights. Once that was finished, they started on the deck, which was the framing of my old deck with new Azec decking on top. First, the old frame needed to be straightened. The new deck was then built including new steps, rails with lighting and skirting. Back to the 4 season room, each phase was completed in a day, the electric one day, the heater another day , the drywall the next day etc. the job was completed right on schedule, 6 weeks. Don and his crew did most of the construction with subcontractors for electic, drywall, insulation, siding. The addition is beautiful. Don is very organized,every step was like clockwork. All of the workers and delivery people were prompt, polite and respectful of my property. There was minimal disruption to our lives. They cleaned up every day and after each phase. Don is very friendly, knowledgable and helpful during the entire process. He always answers his phone or returns your call within 30-60 minutes. He only uses quality materials and workers for his projects and he is available to answer questions even after the work is finished.

Very well.  They were punctual and neat and built us a high quality sunroom, which we are still enjoying very much.

Don and his crew were very professional and hard working. Arrived at 7:30 every morning and went right to work. My neighbors were very impressed at their work ethic and quality of work. Our porch was complete in about 5 weeks.

The project went as planned.  They finished on time and exactly on budget.  The addition was on the side of our house and Don took extra care not to trash our grass/yard and fence.   Don responds to calls right away and is easy to work with.  We got started a few weeks later than expected but once we got started his crews were at the house almost every day.  Project took about 10 weeks and the finished results are beautiful.  The quality of work is excellent and I would recommend Borowske Builders to anyone considering a construction project or home addition.

He told us it'd be at least 6 weeks, maybe 8. That was true. They did a fine job. I'm very pleased with the work that I've had done. There was a subcontracted crew that did the work, and after they were done, they picked up the wood, blew out the grass and took everything away. They were polite and professional.

We met Don Borowske at the Cleveland Home Show in February 2014. We met with him after the show and visited another sunroom he had built for a different customer. Everything looked positive, so we signed a contract for him to build a sunroom addition to the south end of our house. It took a while to get started because of other work and tough rainy conditions in cleveland area this spring (2014). 
However, once things got started, they moved really fast! This is a family operated business, and they are truly perfectionists.
They are honest, and when they say they will do something, it's going to happen. One thing that surprised me is how many subcontractors they used, at least 15 different subcontractors. However, this did not seem to slow the job down. Don tells me he can actually do better and lower cost jobs by relying on the best contractors in each line of business. The subcontractors included: excavation with backhoe, concrete porter (moving concrete from truck to site), electrical, roofing, drywall, drywall finishing, siding, gutter installation, heating and cooling, oak trim installation, and more that I cannot remember. Don seemed to be constantly on the phone with all his subcontractors to make sure the job did not get slowed down by anyone.
Pricing was good. $40,000 for a 20 x 16 sunroom, or about $1,250 per sq. ft. I imagine you might be able to find cheaper work somewhere, but you would be hard pressed to find better work anywhere. My philosophy is that if it is becoming a part of my house, I want the work done right, not cheap.
We held the price down a little by laying our own floor for about $900 instead of around $3,700 and our own painting and oak trim varnishing for about $100 for materials instead of about $1,500 for professional painters.Those were pretty simple jobs that we knew how to do, and we had the time, so it was no problem with Borowske Builders to allow us to do it. We could have done the roofing, but the professional roofer quoted such a low price that we could have saved only about $300, and I did not think the savings was worth the effort.
Final comment, you won't find a better, more honest, more reliable builder than Don Borowske. We recommend him 100 percent. He is a perfectionist and the sort of guy you want doing stuff around your house.

Don has consistently done everything he has said he would. I would use him for any future projects!

money was right on and the deck is beautiful. We love it and can hardly
wait to show it off to family and friends. Forget the urban legends
about unreliable builders, this is a first class group that ONLY does
first class work.
My initial call for an estimate was answered almost the day it was placed. Don gave us design ideas (his were better than ours)
and a realistic start date. The crew was on time EVERY day and we were provided a time line for each step.
I am so glad I called Borowske Builders and if I have another project they will be the only call I make.

I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome!  Don sticks to a schedule and keeps everything moving.  It took just over a month to finish the job.  Every worker who showed up to do their part of their job were professional and arrived when they said they would.  I liked that not only did they know their respective trades so well they were polite.  No one blasted music all day, no one seemed to mind when we came in to take a peek at how it was going.  Each portion of the job took about the time they told us.   Of course, things crop up that weren't expected but each each time the problem was easily resolved.  
In addition, a job like this is a mess but Don and his crew kept the mess as contained as possible and cleaned up afterwards.
Also, the cabinets that were made for us are amazing.  Don told us when we first started that we would love the outcome and he wasn't kidding.  And overall, the kitchen now is gorgeous but even more importantly, much functional.  We are delighted.

Don added a porch for us back in 2012.  We were so pleased we contacted him to do some of our kitchen upgrades.  As usual, he was great to work with, very professional and responsible.  The countertops and tile look wonderful!  We ran into a glitch with our kitchen ceiling fan, when we realized that our electric box needed a upgrade to install a new fan.  I called Don, and he recommended Rob(one of his contractors.)  Rob was great, he was able to install a box without making a bigger hole in our plaster ceiling.  We are very happy with all of the services that Don and his crew have provided.  We plan to call him again next year, for our bathroom, our next project.

We contacted Don based on reviews on Angie's List, and selected him as a contractor based on his knowledge and no-nonsense approach.  He and his crew started on schedule, and he kept his subcontractors on schedule through some pretty miserable weather during the latter part of the recent winter.  Don managed to stay on top of seemingly every detail of the job throughout, and was very responsive whenever issues came up.  His subs ranged from good to great, and as others have pointed out on this site, we would in particular like to compliment Ken and his crew from Colonial Cabinets for an amazing job on the custom cabinets--they were prompt, professional, fairly priced, and gave us an amazing upgrade from the poor quality cabinets they replaced.  Price was as quoted upfront, with no surprises.  Overall, we were very pleased with the entire experience, and would certainly use Don again for future work.

Contacted several "A" rated contractors on Angie's List to have an existing powder room extended into a full bath. Mr. Borowske's estimate was $10,000 - $12,000 over what other contractors wanted for the same job. This shocked me because his reviews (the brief versions) stated that he was very reasonably priced. He is not. Other contractors, using quality materials, came in with bids thousands of dollars below his.

First off, Don Borowske's company gave us the best bang for the buck. His price was the best overall and we felt he was giving us the best value.  He and his cabinet maker Ken from Colonial Cabinet's in Lagrange, came out and measured and discussed what we envisioned for our kitchen remodel.  They convinced us it wasn't going to be any significant expense more to expand into our seldom used dining room to make a more roomy kitchen, and we are definitely glad we did! We were able to see a computer renditition of the proposed design as well as a paper floor plan, something one of the other contractor's we interviewed wanted to charge us for up front.
The total project took about six weeks to complete. All of the sub-contractors and workers employed by Borowske Builders were first rate and very professional, and we were completely satisfied with there work. Colonial Cabinet's did a phenomenal job on our cabinets.  By using Borowske and his affiliation with Colonial Cabinets, we got custom cabinets for what others would charge for upscale home improvement store pricing cabinets.  We now have a tremendous amount of storage that we never had before.

Don Borowske's workers showed up on time and when scheduled, and he followed up to make sure things were done to our satisfaction. There were a couple things that needed to be tweeked on the project, but Don followed up and things were done to our liking. He was foremost concerned that we were pleased with the finished project and we definitely were.
I would highly recommend Don Borowske and his company to other Angie's List members, and I personally would call Don for any future projects we are in need of after my experience with his company.

There is not going to be enough space to type all the good things about my experience with Borowske Builders. Don and his crew did an excellent job even in very cold weather conditions. All my questions were answered promptly. I made a few changes to the original plans, and my requests were met completely to my satisfaction. Borowske Builders coordinated the efforts of several sub-contractors. Everyone I dealt with was very pleasant and extremely hard working.  The work proceeded smoothly, and I am more than satisfied with the final product. My property was respected, and the construction debris was always removed promptly.  I highly recommend you contact Borowske Builders for a quote if you are considering any sort of construction project for your home.
