Perfect.  Best price around.  Used crane and bucket truck to take tree down.  Left large pieces for firewood.  Chipped and hauled away brush.  Ground out the stump.  Price includes a $50 off coupon from Angies List.

They showed up about a month after we contacted them.  The work was done when we were not home.  I would have never known they had been at the house if the one tree hadn't been removed. I called the following day to voice my concerns about the biggest tree.  It truly looked like it hadn't been touched.  I wanted them to come back out and redo it.  Unfortuntately, I let Gary talk me out of it.  This spring, when the tree's leaves returned, it was a bushy mess.  There were random branches sticking out of the sides and the top.  It was as wide and dense as ever.  We called again and this time Gary was less then amiable about fixing anything.  He was absolutely unprofessional while talking with my husband.  
During all conversations prior to the work being done, Gary conducted himself in a friendly and professional manner. He is a smooth talker.  Don't trust him.  Based on the "work" that was completed by them and the unprofessional way he dealt with our concerns,   I do not believe he is an honest businessman.

I am a certified arborist and enjoy working with my customers. The work was performed as it was stated it was going to be. I am surprised at your dissatisfaction as you mailed payment after the work was completed. On the phone, 7 months after work completion, I mentioned that I would review the work and provide a discounted rate to satisfy, but that I could not do it for free. To much time had gone by. When someone yells and curses at me and demands 'free' long after completion, I have to remove myself from servicing your needs. I have to much pride in myself and my business to tolerate being cursed at....that is not ok. I do not appreciate your attack on my character."

Very fair price, friendly service, excellent  quality. Gary and his team are great. The thing you realize quickly, after they arrive on-site, is that these guys really know what they are doing. They are masters at their trade, and it shows. I would highly recommend GP Tree to anyone needing tree service.

GP Service was one of four companies we contacted to have seven trees in our backyard trimmed, balanced, and lifted. Gary of GP Trees was one of two to respond to our calls. He came out to assess the job and was very informative, professional and pleasant. His attitude and fair price won him the work. His team of five showed up at 8am on a very cold November day and got right to work. They trimmed and shaped two apple trees that had been neglected for many years and a grouping of five mature oaks and maples. They climbed into and up the trees and cut out all the extraneous branches and really opened up the trees. They cut away the low-hanging branches and were very careful to shape the trees as well. The apple trees were really cut back, to foster better fruit production. The team was very careful to clean up all the debris and did all the chipping out front near the road so there wasn't any mess in the backyard. We had asked for the larger pieces of apple wood to remain, and they cut it all into logs, even though we had not asked. Really appreciated that. They spent about four hours cutting, climbing and cleaning up and when they were finished, the backyard had been transformed. We can't wait to have the other tree groupings done. Gary and his tree professionals are very skilled and professional. Top notch.

They were professional from the initial meeting to review the work and provide an estimate through cutting down the trees, removing surface roots, and grinding the stumps.
In our initial meeting they were knowledgeable in assessing the problems with the two trees. After discussing the work we agreed to have done, they provided a reasonable estimate. 
They called a day or two before the removal to give the date and time they would arrive. They were on time, with the right equipment and enough workers to do the job. They finished in the middle of the day, when they said they would.

A crew of pruners with a bucket truck operator arrived on time with their manager Mr. Gary Peterson. We talked about the safety of the crew & property. The job was done without any incident. I was impressed by Mr. Peterson's personality. He is amiable and friendly.

It was a great experience.  They removed three dead and dying trees from my back yard.  And removed the stumps from two of them.  The third stump could not be removed because of it's location.  They came sooner than expected, which was great.  
The site was so clean that you couldn't even tell they'd been on the property.

They came with 3 huge trucks and a crane. They put wood down on our yard so that they wouldn't hurt our yard when they drove the trucks on it. They trimmed trees in such a wonderful manner. They swung the branches of a 50 feet maple out over the street and trimmed them so that they wouldn't fall on mine or my neighbor's yards. My chimney and garage door had an invasive vine growing on them; I needed someone professional to handle this. My neighbor was so impressed, they had them come over right after to trim their trees! It was incredible. I have never seen service like this. They did the whole job within an hour and a half! He arrived in a timely fashion. He told me he would come out in the winter when the weather broke. He was out right on time.

We needed one large maple tree taken down and stump ground and three other trees topped. They arrived on-site early in the morning on a Friday as scheduled and began work. Gary Petersen (GP) was with the crew the whole time and they had the tree felled and on the truck for haul away by noon. The last two hours were spent topping the other three trees and also loading to the haul away. Then the stump grinding was done on the felled tree and that was left for mulch.  One of the trees had a 20 foot tall limb that was cracked and needed removed.  This tree was on the other side of the house where the felled tree was so the large crane was used over the house.  Very successful on all the cutting and the crew worked great together.

They did an excellent job. It was a good deal. They did a job worth $400. They cleaned up very well after the work and were very professional. They even cut down another tree that I hadn't seen and they charged a little bit for that. We had a miscommunication about where to meet for the estimate. Gary came down to my house and gave me the estimate.

Very well.  Gary has done a few jobs at my home and he and his workers are very professional.  He quickly responded to my situation. The one branch was leaning on a guide wire at the road.  He had his crew come out quickly to clean up tree.  He later came back and ground the large stump down.   Super to work with and would use again - and recommend.

As I mentioned above I wanted the large limb cut off an Oak tree in the back yard plus any dead limbs and smaller ones not needed.   I paid $200 initially.  The owner of the tree service came out and looked at the tree and said it would be another 200 plus tax to do the triming that I wanted.  I agreed to have the service done.  I do wish I had asked someone else how much it would cost for the service so I could have compared the cost.  We did have trouble arranging a day for the service but the owner was very nice and we talked serveral times trying to arrange for the service.  It was finally done.  They did a good job and cleaned up the mess in the yard.  They also put planks down for the truck to drive on to the back of the house so they would not put ruts in the yard.

If I need such a service again I plan to get estimates so that I can compare costs and make a more informed decision.  I would call the same tree company for one of the estimates.

Gary called several times to set up the appointment and arrived when he said he would.  He ground up the stumps as we agreed.  The price isn't an accurate reflection as this was part of an Angie's List Big Deal, so this is after the discount was applied.  Gary was very friendly and easy to work with.

"Hello my name is Gary Peterson, I own GP Tree Service. Since 1979 I have taken pride in my craft and take care of all my customers, small and large. I visited this customer and gave a free estimate on a large tree removal. We agreed, they recontacted me stating that they had that tree removed, but wanted some smaller work done. I agreed to perform. They wanted this smaller work done to take advantage of the Angis list big deal that they had pre purchased...they did not want to lose the money that they had paid. I understand this. I told them I was going to line up the job with another one in Hudson near the end of the season. They agreed. I must have misunderstood, I thought we were ok to hold until the end of season. I have a 5 person crew, bucket trucks, chippers and crane. No problem to go to a job site for the first tree I quoted, but a smaller job I must combine with another one in the area to maintain lower costs. I am fully insured and run a professional orginazation. Thanks"

After calling GP Tree Service, owner Gary Peterson came and gave us an estimate on trimming our two locust trees.  He said since we were a fairly small job, he could most likely fit us in at the end of one of his bigger jobs.  I waited a couple weeks and when I didn't hear back I called and he set up a day to come out.  I was hoping to be home when he and his crew came, but they came earlier than I expected.  By the time I got home, they had trimmed the trees, cleaned up, and were gone.  My husband was very pleased with the work they did and the clean up.  There was no damage to the lawn from their vehicles and equipment.  They got the job done quickly and cleanly.  I called my husband just as Gary was pulling out of the driveway and asked if we got the $50.00 discount for mentioning Angie's List.  My husband stopped Gary and reminded him and Gary handed him a 50 dollar bill out of his pocket.  I would definitely call this company when needing any more trees trimmed.
