"Dear [Member Name Removed] , Thank you for your comments. I am sorry you are disappointed with the results of our work. This was an unusual job for us because you did not want the whole house painted so we made an exception for you and decided to bill you Time and Material (which we very rarely do) Unfortunately you were not home when the painter was at your home in July to guide him in all the spots you wanted done, so some of the pictures may be areas we did not address when the painter was there for the day. We then reached out to you about the areas that were missed. You wanted us to come back when carpentry was done. You never called us back to the home. So when we reached out to you recently to understand the status of your job we told you that it was too cold outside to do any work and it would need to be done next spring. We gave you the option that if you did not want to wait until spring we would give you a discount ( even though the painter was at your home for the full day and we spent $100 in paint & supplies on your home ). I know you were unhappy, but you decided to take the discount instead of us coming back in the spring. Our offer still stands to come out in the spring instead of the discount. In regard to the uneven surface. It is important to understand we are painters. We do no restore surfaces to brand new.. Painters do not scrape all the old paint to bare wood. Only the paint that is peeling is removed. As a result, older homes will show the layers of paint that have not peeled unless the wood is replaced or a restoration specialist comes to remove all the paint which is a very big job and much more than one man's day of work. I will admit we made a mistake in starting the job without you showing the painter all the areas you wanted touched-up. And for that our apologies."
