I know their prices are high, but I feel that is worth it for good work. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has an old house and needs special care with slate and keeping the integrity of the house.

Unfortunately Runyon's quote was higher than that recieved from another highly rated roofer and we decided to place our project with another roofer. I would recommend Runyon & Sons for others considering repair or replacement fo their roof.

Things went very well from the first salesman (Greg) visit. Greg went into our attic to check for leaks. While he was there he checked for proper ventilation of the house. He then went on the roof and did an inspection of our roof. While the price was a bit high we wanted quality work done with no subcontractors. We then went to the Runyon ware house, and we were shown a mockup of a roof. This allowed us to see all of the different options and it showed us what was going to be accomplished on our home. This demo showed the different materials, a great way of showing good, better, best of different products not just shingles, including vents, gutters, and ice guard.
We made the down payment and scheduled the work. The staff were all very professional. From the first site prep foreman, To the guys doing the roof. They were exceedingly neat, and careful of our plants. They draped the house so no falling materials would damage our home or windows. When the roofers were done everything was cleaned up and hauled away. Then next came the gutter crew. They were the same professional workmen we have expected from Runyon.
Our new roof looks great and we are very happy with Runyon.
PS When the roof was being inspected it was found that our chimney was in need of serious repair. Runyon suggested a mason contractor. He was just as professional as the Runyon staff and did a great job of repairing our chimney.

A few days later they called and verbalized the quote. Within 10 days of walking into their office, the job was complete. The leak is gone and the new flashing job looks great. They are the prime example of how a locally owned and operated business should run.

UPDATE: I am pleased to share that Todd Runyon apologized for the miscommunication that was given me regarding appointment times for customers. He advised me that accommodating times for meetings with customers is a final decision that he and his team make for meeting outside the established times they already have. After our discussion, I advised him that I appreciated his contacting me and explaining the situation. I feel that he went out of his way to make sure I was correctly informed and wanted to do whatever he needed to correct the situation. I advised him my issue was found not to be a roof issue, but something else. I also indicated that when my husband and I decide to have our roof taken care of, we will definitely contact Runyon to give us an evaluation and estimate. I am satisfied that this matter is now resolved.
