I purchased a deal through Angies list for a number of hours of handyman work. They were very prompt at calling me to schedule an appointment leaving me a voicemail shortly after I purchased the deal. But when I called back, I was told they were very busy and I should expect to get a call from their scheduler. The scheduler never called. Work was not done.

Not sure how to do this cos its not really a rated review - just a note to other members. This company only manages HOAs for condo associations. Thats not evident in their profile so I called to ask about hiring them to manage my Ohio rental (single family home). Just want to save other member's time if thats what they need also.

That was fine. There was nothing wrong with that appointment. That worked fine. There were additional fees for the service. I asked them to do more than they could accomplish in the time and so they just billed me and paid them and it was fine. It was just a number of handyman chores that needed to be done. It was fine.

Due to water damage in the kitchen I filed a homeowners insurance claim and a few days later contacted LMI for a quote to potentially do the repairs. Rick Loomis (an estimator) came out to my home on 9/8 to provide a quote. He suggested that I contact a remediation company first and after all areas were dry and a complete estimate was provided by the insurance company he would provide a quote. About two weeks later, Puro Clean finished their "drying process" and removed the kitchen subfloor and bottom cabinets and all of the flooring in the entry way leading to the laundry room and the foyer. My insurance adjuster had provided a full estimate for the repairs. I emailed the estimate to Rick on 9/27/17 @ 11:21AM and left a voicemail for him to ensure he knew the email was coming. He did not respond later in the day or the next day. I called Rick the morning of 9/29 to see if he had received the email. He told me he received it but had not had a chance to review the information. He said he would call back later that day. As of today, Rick still has contacted me.

"First and foremost, the details seem to be accurate as Ms. [Member Name Removed] has stated. LMI did visit the property on 9/8, and recommended that she contact her insurance company in regards to water damages in her kitchen and adjoining rooms. LMI also recommended a reputable mitigation company. But, LMI has not been back to property since 9/8. We don't have a Contract, and were only recently advised that the mitigation services had been completed. In response to Ms. [Member Name Removed] complaint, there are several details that are missing that she may or may not be aware of. First and foremost, after reviewing the details of Ms. [Member Name Removed] insurance claim, typical protocol is for us (LMI) to sit tight until the mitigation process has been completed. LMI was not informed by the mitigation company nor the client that the job had been completed and thought we would be receiving a phone call from either the client or the mitigation company. That may be what she is referring to by her call on 9/29. On Thursday, 10/5, LMI contacted the mitigation company and was then informed that mitigation services had been completed. LMI also had/has several questions as it relates to the details and the insurance coverages. On Friday 10/6 at 4:00 p.m., after several attempts, LMI was able to speak directly with the insured's Adjustor for which most of the questions were answered. Understanding the insured feels a high sense of urgency to keep this process moving, and now that certain questions have been addressed, LMI stands ready to proceed with the next steps. LMI has reached out to the insured (Ms. [Member Name Removed]) at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, 10/9, but she did not answer. A very specific message was left complete with cell phone numbers so that we could be reached even after hours. Respectfully, Richard J. Norris- Sales Manager LMI Construction and Maintenance."

I've used LMI one other time and the service was excellent. The second time I hired them, my kitchen countertop job was botched by one of their guys. Matt the foreman came out to look at the damage, explained what he would do to remedy the situation, and we agreed he would personally reorder the sides and fix this for me. I felt confident he would and I was happy at the time. It's been several weeks and I have not heard anything from Matt. He will not return my calls. Rick from the office will not return my calls. I know people are busy but I want to get this job finished. It's very depressing to see the damage and no one from LMI will call back to come fix it.

Our tech was very polite & efficient. So much so, we purchased another 4 hour block of additional time. The problem is the lack of promtness in their response to any calls back from this office! I feel that they are more concerned with their commercial accounts than the residential promotional leads!

Handyman did a good job. But I was told he would be here at 11:00 am. Nobody called to let me know that he is behind schedule. He arrived 1 hour and 40 minutes late with no phone call. That's unprofessional and a waste of my time.

my service tech Steve was very professional, courteous and efficient. he didn't waste time in moving from project to project. however, the customer service aspect is much to be desired! their office does not see it as much of a priority to return phone calls or address concerns in a timely fashion!

"First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to submit this review. We do apologize for what appears to be a lack of response time as it applies to a return phone call. We did receive this client's voice mail on Monday, and tried to return the call on Wednesday, but did not leave a message. The client was contacted on Thursday via e-mail in hopes of getting a response. He did reply via e-mail with specific instructions on when it would be appropriate to contact him. The e-mail was answered, and per instruction, he was contacted on the following Wednesday via telephone. It is standard operating procedure to return any phone call within 24 hours of receipt. In this case, it did not happen as initial contact was attempted by telephone within 48 hours followed by an e-mail. We do appreciate this client taking the time to document his experience, and will strive to continually improve our response time as it relates to circumstances such as this."

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had as a customer for anything.  First of all drywall, not backer board was installed in the entire bathroom. Second preventative measures to protect the surrounding area in house were never put into place. My 7 month old, new $500 area rug was covered with drywall and wood dust. Heavy objects leaning up against my bed frame. And third, several slices, a dozen or so, the width of my hallway were made from drywall slabs and subfloor in that went through the hall. Even when they left no effort to clean anything at all was made. They left it all for me. Third, about a dozen slices, the width of my hallway were left on my 7 month old hardwood floors from the slabs of drywall and subfloor panels.
i am a widow with three children. Not one old enough for school. I also work full time as a nurse in Lake county to support them. i do not know anything about construction. This is why I hired a contractor. I called for weeks leaving messages with ,Nancy, the secretary until finally the manager, Rick Tomlinson agreed to come out and see the work. He looked at in and tried to explain to me that installing dry wall first was his intention all along and that he was planning on coming back out to install backer board that I needed. Does this make any sense? Then he says to me, "I'm not admitting I did this, but I will send someone out to fix this along with the walls," I couldn't believe how shady this gentlemen sounded as he was saying all of this but I was just glad that he was standing by his work. I did at one point tell him that I respect people who own up to their own mistakes and that it was okay for him to own up to this. At that he left saying only that he would let me know when he could get someone back out to me.
For two more weeks I called leaving messages with Nancy. At two weeks and day I told Nancy I intended to call Better Business Bureau if I didn't get a call back. Finally I got a call back from Rick Tomlinson. He acted as if he had no idea why I was calling. He also denied sayings aging he would fix the mistakes but said he would only if I agreed to hire them to finish the entire bathroom. Unbelievable! Dishonest and seriously? You expect me to hire you for the rest? They messed up everything they touched. I asked to be refunded. He said there is no way he will give me my money back. Nice. Thanks.

We had a pipe burst this winter and it did some serious damage to our ceilings, walls and floors. I typically research companies before I hire them, but we had no time, the work needed to be right away and  finding a good contractor under those conditions was going to be hard - I needed someone right away. I hired LMI on a recommendation that they could do almost any project and It turns out LMI is a pretty big outfit and were able to start right away. They were at the house by 8am every day - four weeks straight. My wife and I were very happy with their crew, everyone was very professional and considerate of our house. Once I realized I was working with a good company, I asked if they would do a few other projects around the house (tile, plumbing, and more painting). The two things that I appreciated the most was:
1) No project was too small. I had a number of loose ends around the house that they tied up for me, like going into the attic to shop vac out the rodent droppings before we put in the new insulation.
2) The project manager, Tom. He was great to work with, always available and when there was a change to the project he always made it a point to let me know when it was done. 
I plan on using LMI  this spring/summer to replace my barn roof and fix some settling cement walkways around the house.

I worked with LMI on the restoration of our vacation home which had an extensive amount of water damage. Our primary residence is hours away. I never had a moments concern that LMI wasn't taking care of my home like it was their own.

We had enormous problems with the remediation company. LMI came in and corrected the companies mistakes and completed the work they didn't finish.

Communication was incredibly important to our project manager. He wanted to make us happy with their work and we are!! He went above and beyond to restore, improve and add value to our home.

Basically, the work was great, the people are terrific and I'd recommend LMI to friends and family.

We were first introduced to this company after our basement flooded and they rebuilt it.  It is a finished basement that had mold that was removed, and LMI rebuilt it to what it looked like before.  It looks great.  Then my wife asked them to bid to fix the problems above.  They sent us a quote.  When we sent it back with a down payment, they contacted us to set up a date that they could start the jobs.  They finished them in about a day and a half.  The dryer no longer vents into our garage, and the ceiling looks great.  We are very happy with the job they did.
