I told them I needed an estimate for my roof, drywall, and flooring. When they got here they took measurements and did an estimate. I showed them graphics that the insurance adjuster had given to me. I advised we were happy to give him the paper work and give him the time to come up with his own ideas for the job. I was not getting any response after a week about the job and the paperwork we needed that we had given to them. When they gave me the paperwork back they didn't give me an estimate, they only returned the information that I had given them from the insurance company. From July to October they kept my information but never gave me an estimate for the job.

I asked for an estimate to simply clean the gutters of our home. The estimator asked me to OK a $700+ estimate. We had another one for $129 from the Gutter Boys. The Gutter Boys did the work and I'm very pleased. Shame, shame, shame.

They did a good job. They came on time and did the work agreed upon at the price agreed upon. They were quick and cleaned up thoroughly. It was a good experience.

After they finished it started leaking again. I had to call them 3 times before they would even speak to me. They were supposed to do 2 different things and billed us for both but only actually did 1 of the things they were supposed to do! This was a horrible experience!

The estimate for the roof alone was $ 8000. They were the most expensive. I considered using them because they were the only ones who offered life time labor warranty on their roofing but I didn’t go with them because of their price. The guy who was out here was really nice and he got up on the roof. They had a really nice pamphlet with information and stuff like that so it was good. They were pretty professional.

The guy who came out was nice and was helpful about the roof. He gave me information about the roof and talked a lot about it and told me what was wrong with it. He explained what was going on. I did think he was expensive but he was helpful. Their responsiveness was not good. I would not use them again in the future.

They were very professional, went above and beyond, cleaned up very well, and there were a couple of instances where they damaged the gutters and they reaplaced those free of charge.

My experience with the company was good. They provided the service. They arrived on time. I chose to go with them because they had done some work for me before. They did fine.

We called for estimates in September/October and Hinckley Roofing promptly came out and gave us an estimate. We checked a few other places but were most impressed with Hinckley Roofing's promptness and professionalism and their price was lower by a significant amount. We signed the contract for service on November 15, 2010 but the work was not performed until June 2011. Some of this delay was due to weather conditions but I did become rather frustrated by how many times I had to call them to remind them I had signed a contract. So, while this part of the process was extremely frustrating and I don't think I would call Hinckley Roofing if I had an emergency I would still consider them for other work. The roofers who finally did fix the areas were very knowledgeable and did a good job and their overall price was significantly lower. Overall I give them a B.

There was couple of issues after work that weren’t taken care of. Matter of fact that I had an issue taken care recently for pertaining to this. They have always done very good but it was just that according to them the design of my house sometimes makes it all a bit difficult to do certain things. I was happy with the way they came back to rectify the problem and they rectified them.

This report is in addition to my previous report on Hinckley Roofing. This year I noticed caked granules in a six foot area on my deck every time it rained. Hinckley Roofing was scheduled to come out on Aug. 17 between 2 and 3 p.m. Hinckley Roofing never showed up and never called to say they wouldn't stop out.

As stated earlier: The quality of the roof job was very good & the price was fair, but I found the the time frame between order date (deposits paid) and start date (perform the service) to be a bit excessive.

Now this year, after every rain, I am getting caked granules from the roof on my deck but only in a six foot area. I called Hinckley roofing several times as to why the shingles were shedding this debris only in a select area. They suggested it might be mold which it isn't. They finally called me back several days later. The guy refused to tell me when he could come out and see it. I said in a day or a week? He said when they were in the area he would come out but would not tell me when. I live in Strongsville. I am deeply disappointed in Hinckley Roofing for their lack of following up on a complaint in a timely manner and their lack of care for the homeowner.

It has been a bad experience.
We have skylights which were serviced right before we bought this house in 2004 and they did not leak. Neither did our stone chimney leak until the roof was torn off and replaced. The flashing around the stone chimney looks really rumpled and not good.
I asked JJ from Hinckley Roofing when he first came out to discuss a new roof with my husband and I exactly how they would treat the skylights. He said that they would replace the old flashing with new when they removed all of the old roof. I asked if they caulked to seal the skylights and he said no that the flashing would be enough to take water away from the skylights and caulking wouldn't be the right thing to do.
A few weeks after the roof was installed my husband came home to a stream of water coming through one of the kitchen skylight during a rain storm. He called Hinckley Roofing and they came out and did something to stop that bad leak.
My husband did point out that the 2 kitchen skylights had yellow insulation dangling below the wood trim that wasn't there before the new roof. Also the drywall blew out where the large leak was and when I called a few weeks later about the chimney leaking and got who I now think was Ed on the phone was yelled at when I asked about the interior damage in the kitchen and was told to "read my contract, that Hinckley Roofing was not responsible for any interior damage".Ed never left the phone to get our records or even come out.
I called again about the chimney, spoke with someone else and repairmen were dispatched. That leak left marks on the den plaster ceiling and the wooden ceiling in the livingroom. The repair didn't hold and I had them out again this spring after the roof thawed. It stopped for awhile but we called for a meeting with Hinckley Roofing about the now leaking skylights in the house and the chimney. Ed came out and this was the first time my husband and I had ever met the man. He was angry and arrogant. He would throw his arms in the air, roll his eyes and walk away from me. He was offensive and said that HE was the original man on the roof to do the actual estimate and that in his notes he noted that the stone on the chimney was loose. He said he told us but neither my husband nor I was not home when the roof was surveyed for the estimate and 2 months ago was the first time my husband and I had ever met Ed.
He said that he should have put it in writing because of people like us. A good business man would have at the very least put it in the estimate or on the invoice which he didn't. And why did Hinckley Roofing come out and repair the chimney yet not advise us about loose stone when I was talking with the repairmen on more than one occasion?
Ed took my husband up onto our roof and showed him the loose stone and where the mortar needed repointed. We immediately contacted a company to do those repairs which have been completed along with sealing the stone and the mortar. Why did Hinckley Roofing put us in that position if Ed knew about the chimney problem from the start?
When the stone worker was here I mentioned the problem with the skylights and he said that the flashing was installed improperly and showed me where the roof tiles are now poking up and away from the roof and skylights because the flashing is too short. He also does roofing and said that he felt that we were going to have continued problems until the tiles were taken away from the skylights, longer flashing installed, caulked and then the tiles replaced. He was right. Tonight during a storm I heard dripping in the livingroom and a skylight was leaking steadily onto our wood floor.
Hinckley Roofing does not stand behind their work and having someone like Ed who is rude and offensive handle our problem has put me on edge. I do not have any confidence in Hinckley Roofing and have also filed a BBB complaint against them.
We now have leaking skylights, internal damage to drywall in multiple locations, a stained plaster ceiling in the den and a stained wooden 2 story ceiling in the livingroom.

We weren't sure if we would need to spend a lot of money to replace the entire roof. The estimator from Hinckley gave us pricing for both replacement and just to repair the roof. There was no pressure to spend the larger amount and replace the entire roof. We decided to just do the repairs. They found shingles that very closely matched our existing shingles. They did the work in one day and cleaned up any mess. We are very satisfied with the work. We would definitely call them again. Plus there is a warranty on their work.

First the guys were a little late (45 min.). They weren't very friendly and avoided contact with us. They didn't have much to say at all even when asked questions. Not sure if they were even the skylights we were supposed to get. No receipt given. They didn't even ask for payment, but they took it when it was offered.

They did a good job. The price was good. They showed up when they said they were going to and they fixed the problem. They are a good company to deal with. There were no surprises with the price. I had gotten several quotes and they had the best price.

We received an estimate back in July and called them to schedule the work to be done in Sept. We waited a week for a return call, but didn't get it, so we called again. Still no return call. It wasn't until the third time we called and said, "Look, either you want to do the job or not. If you don't want to, just tell us and we'll get someone else." The owner called us back and said no problem, he would order the skylights and give us a call in about 10 days. Well, the following week we also decided to go ahead with having them put more insulation in our attic, so we called them back and told the lady to tell the owner, we'd like the insulation done at the same time as the skylights. He never called us back about the insulation, and over two weeks later he called to schedule the skylight replacement for the next day. We said the second day would be better, and waited to hear him ask about the insulation job. I guess he didn't get the memo because he said nothing about it. We decided that since they were so disorganized and disrepectful of our time, that we said nothing and chose to go with someone else. The day of the skylight replacement, the owner called early in the morning to confirm the work to be done that day and said they'd be over around 9:30 am. At 10:20 am they showed up and started the work. They were not friendly at all, and seemed a little annoyed whenever I asked a question. When they finished the work, the one guy just came to the door to tell us they were done. No contract or receipt or anything. I looked at him to say "do we pay you?" and his response was, "you can" (like if you want to), so I said, "do we have to?" (jokingly) and he said "if you want to I can take the money." Now that sounded strange. I was beginning to wonder if I should pay this guy or not. I gave him a check for the full amount and he wrote "paid, with the date" on OUR contract.... The whole event was weird to say the least. And the windows looked like the cheapest ones they could get, not exactly what we were expecting or were told. We felt like because we didn't give them a new roofing job that our request was too menial for them.

I highly recommend them. They came and redid some shingles and put up some gutter. They are very reliable. They came out right away. They cleaned up very well.

Insurance company told us we could find the company. Chose Hinckley Roofing off Angie's list. Called and told them what I needed. They sent out an estimator within a couple days. They quoted the work. We let the Insurance company know and they said go ahead. Work was performed within a couple more days. Everyone was courteous and professional.

I called Hinckley Roofing because there was a windstorm that blew off shingles. Now, I understand that they get busy when that happens, however, I find it totally unacceptable that I was never given a return phone call. I moved onto a different contractor that had someone out here the same day and did the work the day after.

This company did an excellent job on our roof. They gave us a 10 years guarantee on the work and used high quality shingles. They were careful of the property around the house. They cleaned up and hauled away the debris. Our insurance company recommended this company.

Found this company on Angie's List and have also seen their ads in local publications. Initially emailed them requesting an estimate for a repair. After two weeks with no response, called the company and left a message. No response. After about another week called again. After approximately another week they returned the call. Scheduled Saturday for an estimate. He did not specify a time. Being working people, Saturdays are always the only day we have to run errands and complete chores. We could not sit home all day waiting for someone from Hickley Roofing to call or show up at the door. So we called the company at 9:30 am to see when they would be coming out since we had not heard from them again. They couldn't answer and said someone would call us back. By 11am no one had returned call. We called them back and told them to forget coming out. If their customer service (or lack thereof) is any indication of how they perform their work we are definitely not interested.
