I just can’t say enough about how happy I was with this company. They were very responsive from the very first contact message, went back-and-forth with me as long as I needed to answer all my questions and make sure I was getting what I wanted. Pricing was up-front, and they made sure I was informed every step of the way through planning, layout, and construction. And the workmanship on my new Trex deck is fantastic! I am just thrilled with everything about this company and I highly, highly recommend them.

Higham Construction, was one of the best contractors that we had ever used. They did the the demolition of our old deck and installed a brand new deck at our home. From the initial phone call, to the quoting stage, to the installation, their service and quality was top-notch. Bill was very responsive and quickly to follow up and answer any questions we had during the process of our new deck. I would highly recommend this contractor and I intend to use them for future projects.

Bill Higham's company has a full schedule with building new decks, so they no longer do this kind of repair. Bill took time to talk with me, answer many questions, and offer his availability should I have more questions after speaking with other contractors who do repair work. The generous gift of his time and knowledge along with Bill's kindness spoke volumes on how he has earned his A+ ratings and the service he provides to his customers.

Deck was awesome. Bill (owner) was very courteous, honest and patient from the beginning. He explained in detail and was very prompt in communication. Every response to an email or message would be returned in a day. Willing to work to ensure quality at a very optimal price. The team arrived per appointed time and were very polite. Bill cares a lot for his employees which reflect in the quality of work done by his crew. On final settlement, he asked me to pay $100 less as some materials were not used and hence he did not want to charge me for it. Deck came out beautifully. I would recommend him to anyone who wants an excellent contractor at a very reasonable price point. Thanks Bill., truly appreciate your workmanship.

Bill Higham and his crew were consummate professionals. They executed a major repair of our large Trex deck that had been had been improperly built (inadequate foundation) just three years ago. Communication was clear and ongoing, costs were explained, and the outcome is just what we had been hoping for. This company is a pleasure to work with and their work product is outstanding!

Bill and the rest of his crew were a pleasure to work with. We had Bill build a deck and he helped us along every step of the way. During the proposal process, Bill offered valuable insight and helped us make sure that we were getting something that would look great and function for us. He also did a great job coordinating with the City, County, and HOA. Once on-site, the quality of work was great. The crew was friendly and very professional. Bill kept us informed on timelines and details. My wife and I are thrilled with the results and could not recommend Higham Construction more highly.

We had a new deck installed in the spring of 2018. We waited one year after installation before writing this review. Honestly we couldn’t be happier with the final product and Higham Construction. Bill was great to work with from the initial consultation, to designing the deck and construction. Everything went as planned. Bill was extremely patient, communicated excellent and accommodated our changes and questions. He even recommended a gate that keeps our dog in which turned out to be one of the best things we did. Bill and his crew are true professionals and do top notch work. In summary I give Higham Construction my highest recommendation. Update: Bill installed a deck for a family member and they had a similar experience.

Wow! What an amazing job they just did on our deck. So impressed. Bill was very professional and walked us every step of the way and helped us tremendously with our budget. Everything from planning to communication to tearing out the old deck to building the new one was fantastic. Couldn't recommend more highly. Will definitely use them for future projects. So happy.

If you're looking for straight forward communication from a contractor, this is your guy! He showed up at our home on time and in detail described the construction process. When I sent him an e-mail asking additional questions, I had my answer in 24 hours or less. He contacted me in advance to tell me when they were dropping off material and again when they would be starting my project. His work is top notch. I am extremely pleased with the end product.

Bill and his team did an outstanding job. Not only the deck is beautiful, he was great to work with from the beginning to the end. When Bill came out to quote the job, he patiently explained the details and answered all my questions, and he gave us ideas and great suggestions for the size of the deck. The email communication was wonderful, he responded quickly every time. He made the whole process headache free and stress free. Bill and his guys show up on time every morning and clean up the area well. I would definitely recommend him to anyone, and I would also love to hire him again for future projects.

I would hire Higham Construction again without hesitation. Bill was easy to work with, personable, and unparallelled when it came to communication. He answered emails very quickly, and took the time to provide detailed answers to my questions, not just a one or 2 word response. He was ready to start in the time frame promised, but was also flexible enough to push the date back a week to accommodate me and prevent a conflict with another scheduled service. When the original deck was torn down it was discovered that the original footings had to be replaced. Bill chose to not charge me for the cost of the additional work, and stayed with his original quote in our contract. In addition, he added a stair railing that was not in the contract, without charge, because he thought it would be safer. The work was completed in the time frame promised, despite the brutal heat and humidity Bill's crew had to work in. I could not be happier with my experience and with the finished product. The new deck is beautiful.

Ultimately I did not end up going with Bill H. as his sound advice was all I needed. I give high marks as he came out, and explained a number of different things about the potential project all gratis.

My request for a proposal was acted upon quickly. The contract was very detailed and professional. All work was done well in a timely manner. Good communications throughout the process. I certainly can recommend this company.

Bill was one of the best contractors I have had the pleasure of working with. Very responsive, professional, nice and very experienced. He made the process from permit to completion very easy. His crew was terrific, showed up on time, were extremely polite and very conscious of keeping the backyard as tidy as possible. Bill and his team worked very hard, in extreme heat, to keep the work going and finished much faster than I expected. His work is excellent and the deck and pergola are just beautiful. These guys are excellent, willing to do what it takes to make a customer happy and just overall a real pleasure to have around the house for a few weeks. I highly recommend them.

Bill was very responsive when we left a message. He met with us and we told him what we wanted, and he proceeded right away. As soon as the permits were issued, they started construction of our beautiful deck. Bill and his crew were on time and worked very hard everyday until the deck was completed. We had a tree fall and damage our back deck. Insurance company needed several estimates, and Bill's was the lowest one that included the use of Trex Transcend materials. He did a great job demoing the old deck, and pointed out that it didn't have proper footers or framing. He installed proper footers and framing before adding the beautiful Trex decking. During the project he let us know that the color we picked was being discontinued by Trex, so we hired him to redo our front entrance decking also. He again did a fantastic job. He was dependable, punctual, and had great communication with us I would highly recommend Higham Construction for your deck needs, and we will call him again when we are ready to do our front yard deck.

We received Higham Construction as a recommendation from an acquaintance on FaceBook. We got three quotes and while they were the most expensive, we felt the most comfortable with Bill's knowledge, discussion of options, and inclusion of some of the little things which could come up during the process. We could not have been happier! I work at home, so was around his crew each day. They weren't rude and swearing and consuming my yard with cigarette smoke. They worked hard and I often heard them collaborating on problem-solving. The finished product is absolutely amazing. Details which I didn't even think about were perfectly tended to. The mitered corners and extra boards to cover rough edges makes my deck look way more finished than our neighbors. I will absolutely hire Higham Construction for future indoor and outdoor projects as we continue to renovate our home.

The new deck is gorgeous and the ramp is perfect for my needs. Bill and his crew were here for three days and worked hard to get the project done in the cold. They were very professional and friendly and made sure they were done in a timely manner. I have two dogs and they made sure they got me back to normal. I definitely will use them again and recommend them highly to my family and friends.

Bill was great! Initially the city gave him/us a hard time. I made some changes, sent a letter to theBuilding Commissioner and we got it done. Bill made the time to go to additional meetings without complaint. Once approved the deck was built. I can’t wait to use it if spring/summer ever comes! I would hire them again in a minute!

All in all, a very pleasant experience. Bill was the only person to respond to our Angie's List requests and came over shortly after we closed our newly constructed home late last year. He was cordial and helped us with all possible options we could consider for our deck and sent us a detailed list and quote for a deck with different Trex and Azek composites and railing options, with options for with and without skirt and with and without lighting. We went back and forth on a lot of options and Bill was very responsive and patient. Finally, we chose to go with a 16' x 14' deck with an additional 6' x 3' nook for a grill and steps, using a beautiful Trex Transcend Spiced Rum shade for the composite with the skirt option and black aluminum railing. In addition, we requested that the gas exhaust for the tank, which would end up under the deck, be extended to exit out from the surface of the skirt. Even though I felt the quote felt a little on the higher side when compared to some of my office colleagues' decks, Bill's construction method of using two series of support columns underneath the surface- one at the mid-point and the other near the edge- was a big factor in going with Bill as decks in our community built by other competitors have only a single series of support columns at the edge. While the cold weather and snow delayed construction until sometime in mid-March, Bill took care of all the legwork with getting all necessary permits from HOA and the city including the permit for extending the gas exhaust pipe. Work began in March when the weather cleared and things went very smoothly despite a few weather-related delays. Bill's crew were always on time and very friendly. Work finished roughly about 2 weeks from start (could've been earlier if it weren't for weather delays during construction) and Bill's crew cleaned up everything from the area once they were done. We are very pleased with the results- how sturdy the deck feels, how seamless the transition from the interior of the home to the deck is, and best of all, how beautiful it looks with the spiced rum color and black railing. We highly recommend Bill and hope to have him work on some of our other projects too.
