I contacted Jim Weigel after my review of his highly rated customer feedback on Angie's list.The job I had was very small for this time of the year when roofing Companies are so busy in the good weather to install complete new roof systems.I called Jim Weigel and left a message for him to call me back and he did very promptly.I explained to Jim the work I needed done and he set up an appointment with me within two days even though it was such a small job but a job I would not even tackle since this vent needed to be installed at the top of the roof and the roof pitch was a steep 45 degree angle.Jim was right on time with our appointment at my home on 06/20/2012 and looked in my attic and the outside of my home and quoted me a price.  Jim said he could do the job in three weeks.  I agreed to his price and the time he could do it.Jim called me back right on schedule 07/10/2012 and said he would be at my home on 07/12/2012 at 8:30 A.M. to do the jobd while the morning was cooler in temperature.Jim and one of his employees came right on time and completed this job very well and also very neatly.

Jim came out to inpect a flat roof job in March and provided his quote quickly thereafter.  I signed the contract after I received insurance payment a few months later.   Initial work wasn't to begin until September because he was backed up with other jobs.  The wait was okay with me, but I asked him to spread some tarps over the areas of leakage before another rain storm cause more damage.  I called him twice after that and it was obvious that he hadn't been to my home.  I called him a third time just after a rainstorm when I then suffered carpet and worsening interior damage.   I expressed my disappointment with him assuming that he would be apologetic and come out that afternoon and put the tarps down.  Instead he insisted that I find another roofer for the job.  I'm amazed with the ability of this contractor to turn down work despite the fact that I didn't balk on his prices or ask for anything extraordinary (just a five dollar tarp on a roof).

"Member- I sent you a Proposal for your Roof job on 3-9-2011 for $3,265.00 - NOT $3,500.00 that you mention in this report. It clearly states on my Proposal to sign and return if you accept our proposal and have our company do your roof work. However, I NEVER received a signed contract from you? You called me 3 months later after I was back logged with roofing work due to the time of year and all the rain this past spring. You called me a few days ago and wanted to blame me for your carpet damage even though WE DO NOT have a signed propsal. When I inspected the job in March 2011 it was obvious that your roof has been leaking for sometime there was ceiling damage and skylite damage from previous water leaks. At that point I thought it was time to terminate our relationship right then and there. You mention in this report about a $5.00 tarp. For your information tarping a roof would have been a minimum of a $100.00 charge. We purchase most of our Tarps from Home Depot and I don't remember the price ever being as low as $5.00 not to mention I have to pay my employees a wage to install a tarp. Approved Roof Systems is giving you an F for lack of planning and following through."

We found Approved Roof Systems on Angie's List so we gave them a call.  Jim the owner came out and gave us an estimate for the house and garage separately.  He was prompt,  knowledgable and friendly.  Within a few days a written estimate was in the mail.  He called a month earlier than expected to do the job, which was great.  Dennis, Jim's right hand man and the crew worked for 2.5 days. Dennis is precise and detailed.  Job clean up was carefully done. Our roof looks great and is sound and secure now.  We  are lucky to have work done  on it earlier than expected with all the storms.  These men are genuine nice guys who have been in the business for quite some time and we would recommend them to anyone.  Thanks Jim and Dennis for a job well done.

We had some hail damage from last spring and our homeowners insurance covered replacement of the roof, which was about 12 years old.  We found Approved Roofing through Angie's List, and because of the good reviews we gave them a call.  Jim returned my call the same day, came out for an estimate within a couple days and promptly sent an estimate.  The estimate seemed reasonable, and it was below the adjuster's estimate so we thought it was fair.  I had some questions after that and Jim again responded promptly to my messages and answered my questions completely.  After signing the contract, Jim let us know it would be a few weeks because they were backed up from all the rain we had this spring, but a couple weeks later he called to say they were ready.  He helped us pick out shingles and was ready to get started.  The installers were efficient and professional, and the roof was completed in less than three days.  They even took down our old TV antenna which was no longer in use.  Cleanup was good.  The roof looks great and we have had many compliments from neighbors.  I would be happy to do business with Approved Roofing again and I would highly recommend them.

After getting three estimates for replacing my roof, I selected Approved Roof Systems because I felt that Jim Weigel was someone I could work with.  He asked a number of questions and responded satisfactorily to my questions and concerns. As the roofing project progressed this proved to be a good choice.  We have an old house and a number of unexpected issues came up which Jim was able to work through.  He coordinated with my insulation contractor so that extra insulation could be added to the attic as it was exposed by removal of the old shingles.  The roofers even installed baffles under the sheathing to insure adequate air circulation in the attic.  After the old roof was torn off it was apparent that most of the sheathing was rotten and needed to  be replaced.  Jim kept me informed throughout the process. In the end I have a new well-built roof.  The workers were pleasant, responded to my questions concerns, and requests.  The work site was kept neat and orderly.  They cleaned up and carried away all the debris. Jim was apologetic about the additional charges to the original estimate, although I thought the final bill was reasonable, as I had feared it would be even higher. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the overall experience.  I highly recommend Approved Roof Systems

I had several shingles blow off during the horrible spring storms we had. I found Jim Wiegal's number (Approved Roofing Systems) on Angie's List and called. He responded immediately and had someone out to put on a rain/snow patch the very next day. While his foreman was there, he inspected the rest of the roof for free and then put on a rugged and durable patch while I waited for the insurance company to respond. When I found out that the damage was below my deductible and that the roofers that my insurance company recommended were going to charge me an arm and a leg to put on three shingles, I called Jim again. Even though he had much bigger and more profitable jobs to take care of, he sent his foreman out again, and the roof was fixed the next day. A great job, a great price, and a great company to do business with. When I have to call a roofer again, Approved Rooofing Systems will be the first on my list. There is a reason why they are on Angie's List's Honor Roll!

He is very thorough. He went up on the roof to check a leak for me and said it wasn't the roof. He said it was probably the gutters or the window.

Since we had used this company in the past, based on recommendations from Angie's List, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. All work was done within quoted time and costs; the workers were very professional and neat. After completion the yard was searched using magnets for any hard-to-see debris that could possibly damage lawn care equipment. A skylight was replaced after photos and video demonstrated water leakage into the old skylight's frame.

They weren't the lowest estimate I had, but seemed to be the most complete. I am at work during the day, so I never actually met Jim (the owner), he did the estimate while I was at work, and later dropped off some shingle samples at my request. They were able to start the job within 2 weeks and finished in 2 days. Cleaned up everthing and it looks great. Easy to deal with and did just what they said they would do.
