The owner, Jeff Cullins, met with me to discuss my wants and needs. He toured the basement with me and explored all of the different options related to installation. As promised, he came back a week later to see me with an estimate, and we signed an agreement on the spot(with my placing 50% down). The generator was in stock and could be shipped immediately, so all that remained was checking local codes and acquiring all relevant permits. We scheduled the installation for the following Wednesday, and two technicians showed up at my door promptly at 9:00 a.m. on the agreed upon day to begin work both inside and outside my home. All of the preliminary work was done that day, and everything was put back in order and in clean condition. When the workers returned the next day, again promptly at 9:00 a.m., they went about their work and again left everything in great shape. Two electricians came on Friday to complete the installation while the original workers began the testing of the unit outside the home. Everything was wrapped up by 3:00 p.m. that afternoon, and my wife and I handed over the remainder of the balance with great satisfaction. We now had the peace of mind of a standby generator in a section of town that is notorious for outages(even when no one else is experiencing them)and we had the best of experiences with the installation process itself. To say the workers were just friendly and professional is an understatement. They were knowledgeable and could answer all of our questions throughout the 3 day period, and clearly were invested in making the installation go as smoothly as possible for us. Most impressive was the fact that every time the workers entered the home they put on shoe protectors. Even more gratifying was their sensitivity to the fact that we had a 6 week old baby in the house, so we were always given a heads up about noise that would begin. The installation crew was always closing the front door gently. I'm hard pressed to come up with anything negative, but to create some sort of balance there is at least one thing they could have done to improve the service. Although not a big deal, they did keep the shipping box outside of my home for 3 days in order to throw the construction trash away. That could have been removed daily. I selected Cullins One Hour in large part because I was already so impressed with the service that I had received over the past 2 years as a customer who enrolled in their service plan for my furnace and AC. However, this decision was made even easier when I compared my first contact with Mr. Cullins to representatives of a number of other companies that I had contacted through other referrals. In those other cases, there clearly was an attitude of "we know what you need better than you do." It was great to feel heard, and Jeff Cullins did a great job of matching what I believed my family needed with the kind of work that his company could complete for us within the budget we had set.

The company showed up on time, were very efficient and courteous. An air filter change was needed, but we did not know where the air filters were. After the technician had left the home and was turning around, we flagged him down asking that he change the filter as we had found them. Having had a hip replacement, I was unable to go down the stairs to the basement. He came back in without any hesitation and changed the filter. This act was very nice and so much appreciated! Everything is working much better and the house is cooler. Thank you so much.

It went very well. The owner came out to give me an estimate. He was very low key and he explained everything to me. He honored a special that had expired. I did hire them. The crew that put in the equipment were very knowledgeable and nice. They arrived on time. There were a couple of problems that they fixed right away. I would recommend them to anyone.

Setting up the appointment was very easy and fit our schedule completely. Technician arrived on time and completed the job very efficiently. Answered all the questions we had to our satisfaction. As a result of the tune-up I was quoted a price for upcoming repairs, within the next year, for the furnace and A/C of $2000. It was my impression the furnace was a candidate for replacement. Next, I then called another contractor to verify the condition of my furnace. The technician for the second company indicated my furnace was in very good condition but did need one major item repaired cost $500. I canceled my service contract with the company. I did have the company out on a previous occasion and was very happy with their work.

Excellent service - I called at 8:30 pm on the coldest night of the winter when my furnace had shut down. They were responsive and professional. They were here within 90 minutes, explained what was wrong and put in a temporary fix so we could get heat in the house. He committed to returning within a few days with the needed parts, was here when he promised and completed the work.

For going from having no heat to even better airflow and heat within 12 hours on a Holiday weekend, I'd say fantastic. Cullins One Hour was courteous and patient all through the process and really showed me what had failed and why. They worked quickly but thoroughly and had a great attitude as well. They did not push on replacing the furnace or purchasing an extended service contract. I appreciated that.

The representative was very friendly and respectful of my house. He explained very clearly that I needed a new fan control board. They quoted me a tier two flat rate to replace the board. Tier one jobs cost over $300. I looked up the fan board online and found that it can be purchased for less than $100. I called them the next day and asked how long it would take to replace a fan board. They quoted me a half hour to an hour. At that point I told him what and I had found but they would not lower the price. I called three other companies that were highly rated on Angie's List. Two quoted a higher price and one a lower price. I hired the lower priced company to complete the work for about $100 less.

In a word..."Excellent." Jeff's team showed up on time as promised. They always wore their shoe covers, were careful not to mark woodwork/furniture when bringing the unit into the home and cleaned up after themselves. Additionally they took the time to answer all questions that I ask, I'm an engineer so I had plenty of nerdy, curious ones and they still managed to finish up pretty close to on time despite some complications with removing the old air handler.

We disliked the "scare tactics" that implied dealing with any other company would lead to rape or murder by drug-crazed technicians. Safety is an important issue, but this felt manipulative. Bruce took a lot of time to make his detailed presentation, which was good, but we could only look at, not keep the written proposals. That was very off-putting, implying that Cullins didn't want its proposal to be examined too closely or compared to those of other companies. We didn't like not knowing the specific manufacturer and specific models of equipment we'd be agreeing to buy. We liked the warranties and service guarantees Cullins offered, but the price was fairly high. For that amount of money, we expected more transparency in the proposal, detailed, written, individualized, and for us to keep and study.

This was a wonderful experience. The people answering the phone were very professional and very upbeat, almost singing in the phone! Mike came out on time (he called to say he was on his way at 1:59 pm and he was due between 2 and 4 pm). He was very courteous, wore his booties, asked good questions, and was very thorough. He was here for almost 2 hours looking at our system. My husband and I kind of tag-teamed him because of our work schedules and he dealt with that very well. He explained everything he was doing. He found many things wrong with our furnace and A/C. Most importantly, he found a huge crack in our heat exchanger and immediately shut the system down and put a sticker inside the furnace accordingly. He was never pushy about the services his company could provide. He did suggest keeping our home warranty, but I noticed that American Home Shield likes to use AirMasters, and I know that they are horrible (based on the list here and my own experience). I wish they used Cullen!

Mr. Cullins was very informative and thoroughly analyzed our current system and then made recommendations about a new system. He suggested a highly efficient heating/cooling system and explained every aspect of the system. Our installers were FANTASTIC! All three were true gentlemen and a pleasure to have in my home. They were professional, informative, experienced, and very considerate of my home. I had to chuckle when I even saw an oil drip pan under their truck outside. One gentleman even washed my porch and driveway. We would recommend this company to anyone.
