Benchmark Roofing

They were very flexible. They took care of all the warranty work for us. They showed up on time to do the work. They cleaned up everything when they were done working.

The guy seems nice, and he shows up on time and seems very trustworthy and even threw in a little extra work and I would recommend him and he is very professional.

Everything was excellent, they did a very good job with the service. They also did a good job with clean up and we didn't have to worry about a thing.

I was not happy. I did not like the communication or the timing with this company. I was not happy with the work. Some of the shingles are coming up already!

He did pretty good work but he ended up damaging some windows that were put in. He doesn't communicate very well but his work is good. You never know what he is going to be doing. It took a long time.

I had called him and he had called be right away. The work was done within that week. They showed up on time to do the work. They cleaned up everything before they had left.

It was fine. They were very quick. They came back and made the one adjustment that they needed and it was all very quick. They cleaned up their mess. They were very accurate in their estimate.

Benchmark replaced 10 ft. of valley shingles in the lower section of the roof line for a total of $ 250.00. The next day, we had rain showers in the area and the leak returned. I spoke to Steve at Benchmark, he indicated he would be out the next day to repair the leak. He never showed up or indicated to me, that he would not be able to make the appointment. I called the follow day, he promised that he would be out at my house the following day, he never showed up. I finally was able to speak with another repairman, he indicated that he would me meet at the property on Friday 6/13/08. We were able to locate the leak, by me crawling in the attic and noticing sunlight entering a section of roof flashing. I told the roofers, were the leak was. He applied some caulking and added additional flashing for $200.00. The next day it rained and the leak in the roof was WORSE !!!! I called benchmark and told the leak had worsen and they promised a roofer would be there the next day, nobody show up. This repair has taken nearly four weeks, for Benchmark roofing to address. I finally had to contact an attorney, to seek a refund.

There was a bad hail storm that damaged our roof and it needed replaced. We found them on Angie's List. They started the work within a week of signing the contract. It only took them a few days to do the work. Our insurance paid for the repairs. The representative, Joe, was great to work with and was very helpful getting us through the whole thing. He even checked back with us to make sure we were pleased with the job.

They were just an excellent service provider, fair pricing, they did the roof in one day, very efficient, thorough and we got a really nice break on the gutters.

They could only work on the days it wasn't rain. They time schedule was a little off. They did the most work they could considering the weather. They were very professional.

They were very nice. Answered all questions and came out and gave me an estimate.

I phoned the office and Matt Maynard was out within a couple of days (3/22/08) to give us an estimate on removal of a 4X8 foot solar panel... We weren't sure what was underneath the solar panel and relayed that information to Matt as we wanted to make sure that no matter what was under the panel; it would be repaired... Matt assured me - no surprises.... Matt went up on the roof, took pictures (we had another company out that just looked at the area from the ground) of shingles in need of replacing due to wind/hail damage and the solar panel.... We felt the estimate was fair and the 2 year warranty was great - most companies warranty 90 days - 1 year.... The roofer was out (4/2/08) and made the repairs in one day.... Matt was out that same afternoon to clean up and haul the debris in the yard away including the panel.....He even swept the porch and patio..... A month has gone by and we checked the attic after some pretty good rain storms and we have found NO leaks.... We're VERY happy with Benchmark Roofing.....

Call for a estimate on a roof leak. He was very polite and prompt. He gave me an estimate and I approved it and he repaired the roof and the gutter right away. Highly recommend excellent customer service.

On 4/25/08, at the time of my phone call, I was told that Lloyd would call me back within 24 hours to set up a time to come see the site and give an estimate. Not only did he never call within the promised time line, when I called back on 4/29/08, Lloyd told the secretary to tell me that he had called and already had left a message for me on my work phone. My work phone does not have voice mail or an answering machine so he could not have followed through as he said he did. He basically did not do his job and then he lied about it. We don't do business with companies that don't follow up or who lie. If they can't even manage to do a follow up call and set up an appointment for an estimate, how could we expect them to do a quality, professional job? How could we trust a company whose employees lie from the get go? We can't. And I informed the secretary as such. We will continue to search elsewhere for an honest, dependable contractor for our renovation needs.

They found the leak, replaced some flashing and did a great job. Both the person on the phone and the people who came out were great.

The workers arrived early in the morning and worked well past dusk the first day. They were finished by day 2 which was a day earlier than quoted. They cleaned up each day and did a very good job at trying to find all nails in yard. The roof looks great!

Denny from Benchmark returned my calls very promptly and arranged to be here and give me an estimate quickly as I was concerned about being exposed to more wintry weather; January and then again early March. He was very good at explaining the condition of my roofing overall and discussed with me the need for a new roof. He was prompt doing the repair work. He gave me an estimate for a new roof after I asked for this. While I did not contract with Benchmark for the new roof, I did appreciate the good work they did and prompt replies to all requests. Denny was very thorough in explaining all work to be done.

Benchmark called to let us know that they were running a few minutes late. When they arrived, they were able to diagnose and fix the problem in half an hour. There was a gap in our flashing that just needed to be sealed. They were kind enough to not charge for the repair!

They did a good job and I would use them again.

On the most part the company was great. Having had prior experience with home improvement people, we have become fairly well informed people. We requested much and watched most of the installation. The company followed-up well with our ridge vent concerns. They were reluctant to change a roofing shingle; our concern the water was not going to flow away properly. Since completion and the previous good report my spouse gave, we have contacted the company in regards to water streaming down the outside walls of our chimney into our living space. They claimed to recaulk the chimney. With recent heavy rains, we have found water streaming down our chimney again. We contacted the company before the blizzard. I had to call them a second time. They said they would come out and check the chimney, but also told us that it was not the flashing/counter flashing work they completed. They stated that our chimney was leaking. No one has come out to our house again (that we are aware).

They did a fine job. They showed up when they were supposed to. They also completed the work when they said they would. The roof has held up well over the last two years. If needed we would hire them again.

He found also that there was a rubber gasket that was warn out, so he replaced that, too. I was very pleased with them. Quick to come out, good responses, I would recommend them to anyone.

I phoned Benchmark, left a message and got a return call within two hours. I described the problem (shingles and siding blown off during February high winds). Steve Brown came out immediately and determined that it needed to be fixed ASAP as a snow storm was arriving the next day. He went back, got the necessary materials, returned and fixed everything!

I contacted Benchmark to request an inspection and estimate after noticing water marks on ceiling had gotten worse after rain. I contacted this company because of Angie's List rating, and because I had noted that they replaced portion of damaged roof on my neighbor's house, and had completed the work despite nasty weather conditions. Steve Brown came out same afternoon, discovered the problem and replaced pipe vent within 15 minutes. Showed me the damaged seal on the original vent before discarding. Advised that there was a one year warranty on his work. Was apologetic about cost (company advised me that estimate was free but a minimum charge applied to any work done). Convenience of having the work done immediately (it was raining at the time) was worth the small amount I MIGHT have saved having someone else do the work. I did receive a 10% Angie's List discount.
