I bought a Big Deal coupon. LeRoy came out and performed an inspection of the roof and did some minor repairs. He then prepared an estimate for me on other repairs that needed to be done, including replacing missing shingles and correcting installation of flashing. I proceeded with the repairs. LeRoy was always very helpful in explaining what needed to be done and how he was going to do it. He was on time and finished the work on the time and cleaned up after himself. All of his work is guaranteed for five years. I was very pleased with the service.

Mike arrived early. He found that the contractor who rebuilt my house after a fire did not vent the bathroom fan through the roof. He also found they had not installed any soffit vents for air floor through the attic. He also suggessted a end vent be closed off to force the air flow through the vents at the roof line. He gave me an estimate of $2000 to blow in insulation to 60R, add the 6 soffit vents, vent the bath fan through the roof and close the other vent. While he was in the attic, I was checking the web for "average" costs and his estimate was in the ball park. I am going to schedule the work with this company at the end of December.

Ascent was professional, timely, and neat. The fan functions as advertised and we've had no problems with it since installation. I'd recommend Ascent Roofing and use them in the future.

The actual work (insulation and chimney capping/shingling) went very smoothly. The only issue was with communications/logistics -- the first time, the salesperson showed up a day early, the second time (contract signing) he showed up a few hours early and then the day of the insulation service, they showed up early in the morning but didnt have some of the equipments/parts they needed to do the job. The work, however was done well and they cleaned up any mess they made. Overall, a good experience.

They were very responsive initially to show us the materials, but when we asked them about a lower-priced shingle, he told us he’d have to get back with us, since he brought only the highest-priced shingle. We never heard back from them, and they never followed through. The gentleman that came out was very nice, seemed knowledgeable, and was helpful, but the fact that they never returned our calls or gave us information on the product we asked for, we wouldn’t use them.

The serviceman was prompt and polite. Besides leaving a clean environment, he -without charge- reused a few of the shingles he cut away for the fan mounting to repair some minor damage to another place on my roof. He also nailed down a few shingles that needed attention. When my roof needs replacing, Ascent Roofing is who I'll call first.

This company used the Angie's List promo to come to my home and attempt to aggressively close a sale for thousands of dollars. I have contracted with another company since the Ascent Roofing experience to have my attic insulated for $781. I would strongly advise comparison shopping prior to contracting with this vendor.

Response from Ascent Roofing Solutions
I would like the member and anyone else reading this review to know that I am the owner of Ascent Roofing Solutions and this is not what we teach, nor is it an acceptable means by which we elect to do business. Unfortunately, the representative that went out to the member's home (over 9 months ago) was not abiding by Ascent Roofing standards and has since been dismissed of his services (over 8 months ago). Nonetheless, what really strikes me as ironic is the drastic difference in pricing in your comments. You see, there are several products on the market. We use ONLY the absolute best materials on the market. We easily could have provided you with a quote on an inferior product, which is typically about half the price of what we currently use. There are also a number of different things we do during the installation process that set us apart from the competition. It is easy to enter your attic and fill it with an inferior insulation product, but sometimes doing a job and doing it right involves a little bit more work. Some of the factors that influence our pricing include ventilation concerns, can-lighting and electrical components, and what type of framing needs to be done to ensure a safe and easy passage into the attic for future access. Most contractors use plywood to build up the man-hole. Have you ever tried to crawl into an attic that was build up 20" with plywood? We actually frame it in with wood that will sustain a grown man's weight in case you ever needed to access the attic again. We also use a number of other products that many contractors will not use in order to make our customers have a safe and efficient attic. Another thing that will greatly influence pricing is what R-Value is installed. Minimum building codes only require an R-49. We follow the upper-end of what the Department of Energy recommendations (R-60). This is a large difference in pricing between and R-60 and an R-49. The inferior product that I mentioned earlier will not even allow for you to install an R-60 because of the weight and the potential for future dry-wall damage to your ceiling. We do not teach our people to be aggressive in our presentation at all. We have a power-point designed specifically for informing our customers on the difference in products that are on the market and services that we provide that are different than what most people provide. If you took this to be an aggressive attempt to close you on the spot, I sincerely apologize. We have not become “Super Service” award winners by strong-arming customers into a high-pressure sales presentation. That is simply not who we are or what we do. It is this attention to detail and a quality workmanship with quality materials that drives our pricing. I am sorry that your experience with us was bad enough that it prompted you to leave us with a negative review 9 months later. However, if you will read our reviews of customers that actually understood the value in our services and what we provide, you will see that we do not leave customers dis-satisfied. This is because we TRULY do value our customers and take extraordinary measures to see to it that they are satisfied at the end of the process.

I had a solar attic fan installed. They arrived right on time an were prepared to get right to work. I was surprised that no access was required to the inside of my house. He went right up on the roof and had the fan installed within the timeframe quoted. I've noticed a drop in the temperature upstairs as wells as a drop in my electric bill (air conditioning). I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an attic fan.

I can't say enough GOOD things about every experience we had with this company and it's workers. Jason was our contact and he followed through on every thing he promised us. This man is true to his word and that means a lot these days! He was also willing to work with us... which made every step of this job ... painless! The quote was fair and the work was done on time and with quality materials. The workers were top notch! Not only did they do an OUTSTANDING JOB on our roof... but the clean-up was an A+. We haven't even seen one nail... now how often does that happen? The siding job is BEAUTIFUL! And once again... a top notch fellow perfomed the work and it is perfection. I'm so very impressed and thankful I found this company. I HIGHLY recomend them to anyone that owns their own home. These are the kind of people you want taking care of you. Trustworthy, great clean-up, quality work & materials and a fair price.
Description of Work: 2 layers of old roofing was removed and a BEAUTIFUL new roof was put on. In addition they tore down and replaced wood siding that was destroyed as well as the wood trim around some of our windows.

My roof had a small leak during heavy rains since I bought my house 5 years ago. I saw Ascent at the fall Home and Garden show and gave them my contact info to take a look. Leroy came out and performed a temporary fix to cover the shingle issues that he could see, and advised that I had storm damage. Once I started the insurance claim, I had Jason out to provide an estimate. The estimate was on par with the insurance estimate, and he provided fast response and quick scheduling. The workers performed excellent work and cleaned up 100%.

Installers arrived promptly as scheduled. They worked efficently with minimal discussion and cleaned up well. Air circulation was maintained from the eves to the peak of the roof. Would hire company again.
Description of Work: I had miminal attic insulation. Decided to install more at this time. Company's prices seemed similar to others after estimates were given for 60" of expandable foam insulation. One of estimators seemed to be a trainee unframiliar with the insulation process. The other estimator very knowledgeable able to answer all questions. The overall performance was excellent. He arrived on time, performed the advertised tasks (roof inspection and maintenance), and indicated a couple of problem issues that would be easily resolved. He was very good at answering any questions I had. I highly recommend Ascent, and LeRoy in particular.
Description of Work: I used the Ascent "big deal" on Angie's List. LeRoy is the person who came to do the roof inspection and maintenance. He was very prompt, professional, friendly and informative. He inspected my roof, replaced several shingles that had been blown off in recent winds, and told me of a couple of other problems. I requested an estimate to replace a downspout elbow, replace a vent pipe that is cracked, clean gutters and seal the end caps on same. The estimate was given to me via email and I will be having the work done in November. I was very pleased with the job and would highly recommend this company.

The crew arrived a little later than I thought they would, about 10 am. The crew carefully moved items, that my sustain damage, such as my grill and then laid tarps where the old shingles, nails etc. would land. After they got my old roof removed, they found that I needed a number of sheets of plywood and when I went on the roof with them, they showed me the problem areas. They had to run and pick up the additional sheets of plywood, so while they were waiting, the workers had to sit and wait. I had also discovered that the wrong drip edge for the gables had been delivered, so when I pointed that out to the foreman, he called his supervisor and was informed that it would have to be special ordered which would take a week to get in. They told me that they would be able to go ahead and get almost everything done without it and would come back and finish it up once they received it. They also said that they were going to try to get most of the roof done that day and they come back and finish it up, minus drip edge, the next day. They worked until dark so that they didn't have to come back the following day (Sunday) and did get the roof almost completed, and it was finished to the point that if it did rain, that it would not harm anything. They tried to get a lot of the mess cleaned up and made sure that there were no nails in the driveway and said that it would all be cleaned up when they returned to finish the project. The only problem was there were nails all over the yard and I had to mow the next day. I had to make sure I picked them all up so that I didn't end up with nails in my tractor tires. They also left their personal trash (pop cans, lunch sacks, etc.) laying in the yard which I had to pick up in order to mow, plus I didn't want it blowing away. I realize that they ran out of light so that they could leave my roof in a condition where rain could not get into my home, but I was also left temporarily with a mess. I was notified mid week that they would indeed be back to finish up the project the following week. They were back the following Saturday and completed the job and cleaned up thoroughly. I pointed out that they had broken off one of my new oakleaf hydrangea and they reimbursed me for it on the spot, no questions asked. They always made sure that I knew exactly what was going on throughout the project and my roof looks great. Their supervisor they came the following Thursday to make sure that the job was completed to everyone's satisfaction. They were always very professional and communicative. I really enjoyed working with Ascent Roofing.

I called the vendor to make an appointment, but on the day of the appointment the vendor could not come due to heavy rain. I rescheduled, bust could not make that appointment because I had to travel out of town. Finally, the vendor and I got our act together and the high quality attic vent/fan was installed in less than 40 minutes. The vendor did not even have to enter our home. All in all, I’d use the same vendor. No issue here. Recommended.
Description of Work: This was a I want project. I expect lower tempertures in the attic, but I did not use a thermometer or track whether or not the attic fan/vent I had installed has helped reduce attic temperature. I am just taking it on blind faith that the process works, since the unit that was installed is still working. The service was good. The cost was reasonable, and it might actually work. So why not accept risk. It was worth it to me, to try to do the right thing.

I contacted 3 companies that were to all arrive on the same day at various times in order to give me an estimate on getting the gutters repaired as well as seeing if there was any work that needed done on the roof of my house as well. All the companies offer free estimates and said that I did not have to be home in order for them to do the estimate. I arranged for the back gate of my yard to be unlocked to allow access to the rear of the house for gutter inspection and to be able to get to all areas of the roof for inspection. I woke up on the morning of the inspections and heard someone walking up on the roof and seen a truck parked in front of my house in addition to a ladder being up on the front of the house. After several minutes I heard the walking go towards the ladder, the ladder came down and they placed it back on the truck and left. I do not know who this company was (more on that later) I had to get ready for work and upon leaving was still waiting on word from the 2 other companies about their estimates. I got a phone call from one of the other companies (was not Ascent roofing that called) and stated they would be out in around 20 minutes, I explained I was not home and they said that would be fine, they could still provide the estimate. I returned home from work later that evening after my wife was already home from work and asked her if she had heard anyone on the roof or gotten any paperwork either in the mailbox or stuck in the door and she stated no. I received an e-mail from the only company I spoke with on the day of the estimate (again, nothing from Ascent roofing) providing their estimate. To date, it has been roughly 3 weeks since the estimate and I have still never heard from Ascent roofing, nor do I have any idea if they even came out and checked out the issues I was requesting estimates on. The company that was on the roof when I got up never made any sort of impression of who they were and never got back with me. I also have no idea if the company that I never heard back from, which could have been Ascent even showed up at my house. The company is highly rated on Angie's List which is why I chose them for an estimate, but since I never heard back from them to even know if they came out to my house I have no desire to use Ascent roofing, nor will I look to them in the future for any estimates. Just as a note of reference, in case they never showed up due to the fact that I was looking for minor gutter work, I'd like to state that the company that I chose ended up getting a full roofing job as well as replacing the siding on the house due to hail damage and winds. So, this could have been a nice job for whoever decided to get back with me and provide an estimate.
Description of Work: I was contacting companies looking for estimates to repair some gutter work from recent storm, in addition to checking out the health of the roof due to age and storms.

Response from Ascent Roofing Solutions
Member, I would like to Thank You for bringing this to my attention. As the owner of Ascent Roofing Solutions, I am extremely concerned about how our customers are treated. I sincerely apologize that we did not get back with you on your estimate. Somewhere along the way, somebody in our organization dropped the ball. I will see to it that we appropriately address the situation and that it does not happen again. I realize that this action does nothing to win your business since you already have your job contracted. However, I did want you to know that we do care about each and every one of our customers and that there is no such thing as a job too small. I think you can tell by reading our reviews that we have as many small jobs as the larger jobs. We sincerely apologize that nobody got in touch with you. Although we strive for it, we are not perfect by any means. It is through adversity and bumps in the road such as this, that a company has an opportunity to grow and learn from mistakes. Thank You for the feedback.

The company that came out before had alot of paper in the insulation. So they came out and put new insulation over the top of the old. Overall I was very satisfied with the service. After the initial issue of not returning the phone call it went exceptionally well. Brent is passionate about his company and it is important to him to make sure that his customers are taken care of. I never expected him to do the work at no charge. I will definitely use him again if the need ever comes up.
Description of Work: Called the company and initially did not get a call back. The owner, Brent, called me on a Saturday morning and said he was sorry no one got back to me. Description of Work: I needed a new roof. My house is a one floor ranch, with 3 bedrooms, etc. and is about 58 years old, and probably had the third roof on it in its lifetime. The existing roof has lots of wear marks in the portion over the living room and over one of the bedrooms. The nail heads were starting to show, some of the creases were very worn. The roof had shown its age, and we bought the house 10 years ago, with the roof as is, and I knew it would need to be replaced. Time for the new one, and I knew it. Wanted to get job before winter weather set in. Maybe luck would be good for two more weeks, it was. I called the company, in very early January, referencing an Angies List special price, and told the company rep about the status of the roof, and asked for an inspeciton within 2 to 3 days. The clerk on the phone, had a sales rep / job site supervisor visit on the next day, He went up onto the roof with me to look over the whole roof, (NO, I was not afraid of waliking on the roof), from one side to the other. We both agreed it need replacement, and this roof qualified for the special pricing that was advertised. To me, this was probably the 3rd roof in the house's 58 year history, I was ready for a new one. We agreed on the style and type of new rooking materials, the few items to be included, and that the new materials had a 25 year warranty from the supplier, and they, (the company) would service any problems. Date was set, contract written, deposit made, same day as review. Crew showed up on time, 7:15 am on a sunny cold January day, NO snow, NO rain, just sun and blue sky. They went to work, a crew of 4, took off the old roof, put all trash into their own dumpster wagon, replaced three underlay sheets of plywood, (as listed in contract), put on the new prime layer, new boots for vents, then the new roof, and continuously keep all their trash in the dumpster. Finished with job by 4:00pm. The site manager, also a sales rep made several visits throughout the day, and was there for final inspection. I had no issues. We agreed on everything. Job was done. Weather came in during January and February, I did my own attic inspection, as agreed upon with sales rep, site manager, NO leaks. Satisfied with complete job. Sales rep, said, any problems, call us, we aim to take care of the custoner. No problems so far, and roof looks nice, nine months later. Yes, I would hire them again. Sales rep / job site supervisor was easy to work with, explained everything, knew that I could handle my own check ups, agreed with me on all terms. Good to go. For myself, having experience with roofing materials, building materials, etc, I knew what had to be done, and type of work invovled. I was looking for a qualtiy job at a fair price, and got both.
