We had a mold issue in our attic that necessitated a complete tear off, mold remediation of our attic, and then reroof. Ascent did all the roof work. I have zero complaints. They did an excellent job. We dealt with Brent Cornwell, one of the owners, the entire time. The job required coordination with another company providing mold remediation, and it went flawlessly. Brent contacted the other company and I did not have to coordinate anything. That was a huge stress reliever. The work they do is top notch. From recommending an entire layer of Ice Guard over a particularly shallow part of my roof to redoing our chimney flashing, Ascent did great work. They did damage my wife's Japanese Maple. Brent offered to replace it that day, but my wife is...particular. She went the next day and bought one of identical size from Oakland Nursery. We submitted the receipt and received a reimbursal check two days later. Brent called the next week to see how things were and if we had any outstanding issues. I couldn't be happier with the results!

I LOVE ASCENT!!! Every person that we met was personable, professional, and knowledgable. From the salesman to the office folks to the roofers to the owner, I was extremely impressed. They are prompt and make sure to keep lines of communication open...you get a strong sense of pride from these folks. I was very comfortable having them in my home. Our yard looked great when they were done - that's saying a lot considering that they worked a 13-hour day at the height of a humid August. I had to call them for a small adjustment to some flashing and experienced the same great level of service for that call.

There was a problem with timing and a couple of other things so it took us a couple of days to get things taken care of but the owner called us as a result and refunded our money because they don't function that way. That was very nice of them. They ultimately did a very good job.

We found them on Angie's List. Our experience with them was excellent. There were a couple of issues that I was not made aware of, which I assumed was going to be done but was not part of the deal. The owner came out; he was very accommodating. He fixed everything that I had expected was going to be done, and did it all at no charge. It was just a misunderstanding between everybody. He took care of everything. The guys had done the roofing, and there was a part of the roof that I didn’t notice, but he noticed that it didn’t look right. He had his guys come back out, ripped that part of the roof off and redid it until he was satisfied with it. There were little things like that I would not have noticed that he picked up on, and he wasn’t satisfied until they were right. They were very professional.

TERRIBLE!!!!! Due to a wind storm, we needed a new roof. The person from whom we are buying the home from agreed to hire a roofing company, and Ascent was hired for the job. My first issue: there were at least a dozen workers here for 2 full days due to the size of the job (this is a 3 story home). When I had concerns about damages to the property I was noticing and asked for a supervisor, they could only speak to me in Spanish. NOBODY I approached could spoke English! No supervisor, owner or representative introduced themselves to my husband or I at the beginning of the job, updated us on progress or advised us on whom to speak with should any quesions or concerns arise. I did in fact have several concerns about trash being left on the property such as pop cans and food wrappers. I immediately picked up their trash myself, because we and the neighborhood we live in take great pride in the appearance of our homes/properties and I wasnt going to just let it sit there and be an eyesore. Quite disturbingly, about a week after the job was complete, my husband handed me a bottle cap and said it was the second one he found in the yard. The bottle cap read "Sol Cerveza". But this is just the tip of the iceberg of the damages this company caused to the property due to carelessness, laziness and incompetence. They dragged something very heavy and sharp along the entire length of our newly refinished deck (a tarp full of roofing equipment or bundles of shingles we suspect, based on the depth of the gashes). As shown in the photos Ive submitted, Ascent roofers left scratches, gashes and tar along the length of the deck, deck rails and spindles. They also managed to leave tar in several places on the back of the house by the deck. There is a large red stain the owner told me would wash away. Since that time, weve had rain and snow. The stain is still there. In additon, they split two of our new rose bushes in half , and broke two of our pathway lights (also shown in photos submitted). A giant pile of left over materials was left in the middle of the driveway after the job was finished, taking up most of our parking space. At that point, I called the company to report the problems and find someone who could understand/speak English to bring attention to these problems. Brent, the owner came out on 03/04/2013, he took pictures, I showed him the invoice from my landscaping company due to the damages. He asked me to call my landscaping company and get the quote for what it would cost for them to dig out and replace the rose bushes. He told me that he would pay me the $39 per rose bush, and that he could send his "handyman" out to repair the damaged areas of the deck. Due to the level of prestige of our neighborhood, we hire contractors specific to their trade. Nowhere on Ascent's website do I see "landscaping" or "deck repair/refinishing" as a specialty/service they provide. I have had my professional painting company come out and look at the deck, and they advised in order to make it look right (uniform in color) it would need to be powerwashed it to remove the dirt, tar, and debris from the shingles, sanded in the areas that were gashed so deeply penetrating not only through the stain, but the actual wood, and restain it - otherwise, the color won't match and gashes in the wood would remain. Since telling me that he would replace the rose bushes, he has emailed me to say that they will find rose bushes on their own and have their "handyman" plant them - not a professional landscape company that I paid for the previous summer, but a handyman. As far as the lights that they broke, they told me initially on the phone that they would replace them, now in their email they have said that they will "see what they can do as far as the two that were damaged". Brent, the owner, told me verbally on 03/04/2013 that he would pay for the roses. Based on the constant 'flip-flop' of their story pertaining to how they would handle the damages they caused here, I do not trust them. Ironically, they show the Christian fish symbol on their webpage. To me, being a good Christian is not going back on your word, and correcting problems the fair way. Sending a 'handyman' out to fix our deck and rose plants, and not a specialist as we originally paid does not seem fair at all. The company was paid high dollar to to do a tear off and entire roof replacement on a 5700 square foot, 3 story custom home, and the quotes/costs to correct their damages BY PROFESSIONALS SKILLED TO THE SPECIFIC TRADES OF LANDSCAPE AND DECK PAINTING are extremely minimal in comparison to their bill to have the roof done. The owner states that I am difficult to please, but as mentioned, we are paying top dollar to buy this house, and we pay top rated contractors specific to their trade to work here. I have declined the offer for the roofers to repair my deck and landscape destruction. Id rather pay out of my pocket to ensure the damages caused by Ascent are corrected properly and restored to the excellent conditon prior to Ascent working here; as well as warn the Angie's List customers to beware of what this company has done and could potentially do again. BUYERS BEWARE!! If this is their attitude toward resolving their damages to a job this big in an exclusive subdivision in Powell, it makes me wonder how they will treat smaller jobs.
Description of Work: They did a complete tear off and roof replacement to the 3 story custom home we are buying, per a land contract for $670,000.00 in Powell.

Response from Ascent Roofing Solutions
We did a full roof tear off of their 2nd story home that was contracted by the owner of the property. We never had any contact with them until they had mentioned the deck had some scratches and one of their rose bushes was split from the 2nd story tear off. I was being generous by telling them I would take care of the other two rose bushes that had very minimal damage. I met both of the tenants at the property to go over all the damages, they never said anything negative about the workers as to leaving trash over night, pop cans, food wrappers, etc. that she posted on her review. I was on the job site to check the progress and saw her in the garage, I said hello and she had nothing negative to say regarding the workers, trash or the food wrappers. Due to the size of this job, our crew had materials and equipment on site for those 2 days. There were no food wrappers or trash left behind that was brought to my attention or that I saw while I was there. I was only aware of left over material that I went and picked up myself. I also walked and inspected the whole yard and only found a few nails from the roof replacement. Our Crew Leader, Superintendent and Lead Forman all speak English very well and are very hard workers. Again, the job was contracted through the home owner, so I never met them till she called only to complain about the rose bush and scratches on the deck from the shingles. I told her we would take care of everything. She only wanted "their preferred" landscaper to replace 3 small rose bushes and got an estimate from a painter for the deck. When I was at the home, I said once the weather clears up we will get this taken care of. When damage occurs on a job site, our company takes pride in our responsibility to make repairs or remedy any problems. In this case, they want to pick who does the work and that is not how a contracting business is ran. As one of the business owners with Ascent Roofing Solutions, it is my responsibility to fix the work myself or have one of my crew members repair the damage. We do not hire out or have the home owner pick who they want to fix a mistake and foot us the invoice. We are a full service general contracting company and perfectly equip to handle and repair deck damage and landscaping issues. Unfortunately, she is not satisfied with anything that I have offered to correct her issues.

The service offered was performed as described. The date of service was changed several times as a result of inclement and uncooperative weather. Contact was made in a timely fashion to reschedule and fit our calendar. There is a noticeable difference in leaky gutters, they are repaired to our satisfaction. We purchased a deal from Angie's List. We would purchase again if we found the need. We recommend this company. The only reason for a B on the professionalism was there was no notice from the crew that work had been completed.

I don't know for sure what they did. The gentleman rang to doorbell approx 40 minutes after arriving and said they were finished. I was not given any paperwork showing what exactly was done nor anything showing if there was additional work to be done.
Description of Work: The company came to do a gutter tune up and gutter clean out. was suppose to be here approx 1 1/2 hrs. The arrival time was to be 10 am...they arrived at 10:20am. The gentleman was very nice. None of the services were explained. I asked what a gutter tune up was, he said they would tighten anything that was loose, rehang a fallen gutter and clean the debris.

(Member name removed). Please accept our sincerest of apologies. Unfortunately, we were over-booked on some appointments. The Big Deal promotion had a much bigger response than what we were able to effectively keep up with while maintaining our expected level of service. This particular technician is no longer with us after a few complaints on Angie's List. Please understand that the owners and management of Ascent Roofing Solutions CARES about your job and every job and that this level of service is not what we demand. As a token of our sincerity, we have sent you a full refund for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

Had to reschedule the appointment couple of times because of snow on the roof and gutter. Finally a guy came by to clean, did not complete the job as he was unable to reach couple of areas with his ladder, so indicated he will come by later to talk care of it. But after a month still that has not happened. Also I checked the first floor gutters towards the front side it was not cleared. Will not hire Ascent roofing solutions again.

They showed up at the scheduled time. Their examination of the gutters found that the guuter guards had worked and everything was clear. Since there wasn't really a need for a cleaning they felt they should have done more so returned within a few days to repair some loose siding. I was impressed with their honesty and work ethic. I would definitely use them again.

We purchased the $199 for Roof and Attic Winterization, Inspection with Up to 2 Hours of Maintenance! deal after an unusually high December electric bill. We have been in this home less than one year, and last winter was mild. We suspected that the attic needed insulation. We schedule an inspection date 1/10/13. Our inspector showed up promptly and on time. He spent ~20 minutes in the attic. He informed us that we did need more insulation, but we would also have to have our recessed LED lighting capped prior to insulation being installed. He noted that we had 3 attic fans but only one was working. He could not inspect the roof due to snow being present. He rescheduled to come out to evaluate the roof Jan 25. He did note, however, that our shingles appeared to by a type that are involved in a class action suit. Jan 25th arrived and there was more snow. I told my husband to call and verify that they weren't coming due to the weather, which was useful as we were told he'd "forgotten" about the appointment anyway! He also said he'd e-mail an estimate for insulation installation that weekend. Needless to say, it never came. My husband finally had to call the company for the estimate. We have since hired a professional "green" auditor who was fabulous. He noted that extra insulation will not help unless the air pockets were sealed first. He also noted that the two attic fans that "weren't working" were automated to our home humidification system. He also recommended we check the building code in our area, as the LED light caps may not be required. We have not heard anything to date from Ascent roofing regarding roofing inspection follow-up on our "class action lawsuit" shingles. Essentially, we spent $200 on an estimate. We are very unhappy client who do NOT recommend this company.

I am sorry to say that we are certainly not a perferct organization. We had a company meeting regarding this review and it has been brought to the attention of the individual that was out at this home that this is NOT an acceptable way for us to conduct our business. I would like to thank Members for shedding some light on this situation and assure them that we will learn from it. I have personally contacted Member and will be offering them a full refund for our obvious shortcoming. I have no intention on making excuses. They didn't complete the job successfully. The Big Deal was suppose to be for an hour or two for work but he was only here for 35 min. He said he was not able to get to a piece of siding I was most concerned with, he said he was not allowed to go to the second level. A couple of days later I went up on the first level and was able to reach it, I was not happy. Based on what they did it was not worth the price.

I would first like to let it be completely understood that we are an organization that LOVES our customers!!! We love good reviews and despise to get a bad review. As you can see from previous reviews, we are not a company that makes excuses when we get bad reviews. We address EVERY one of them with the customers and staff. With that being said, for whatever reason, sometimes people leave inaccurate information. Our tech showed up at his house for the appointment that was scheduled for April 27th. The customer elected not to show up, nor did he call to let us know that he couldn't make it. Additionally, the tech that went to his house to perform the inspection is by far, our best climber on staff. He has never backed down from getting on a second story roof and this is a complete falsifcation of the facts. Prior to this review, we made 3 attempts to reach this customer with no return phone call. I am sorry to read about this review, we do care for all customers. However, if a review is going to be posted about us, please make it a truthful statement of the facts.

Not bad. Will call again once I need more work completed.
Description of Work: Purchased the two hours of roof work for $150. It was really an estimate for more work. The gentleman who did get on the roof reattached two shingles wich took about 15 minutes. Then came down and explained some stuff about my roof. I knew it needed work, and listened to what he had to say. He said he would prepare a quote for me and also get his brick guy to look at my three chimneys. After several weeks, I think I emailed or called him to find out what happened to the quote. I then received a partial quote, but not with the chimney work quote attached. I know the Chimney's were looked at because I met a guy out by accident looking at them one day. He said he would get the estimate back to Ascent roofing but I never heard anything from anyone again. I guess in the future, if I want an estimate, I will just call a company directly. It wasn't quite worth the $150 to have someone come and attach two shingles back onto the roof and never hear from anyone again. The guy who did come out to look at the roof was very nice and professional though. Update 04/01/2013 Brent called me from Ascent Roofing and apologized for what had happened. He offered and followed through on returning my $150 purchase from the 'Big Deal' promotion and offered assistance in the future on the roof. He explained that the promotion brought more volume than they anticipated and had a hard time keeping up. I have changed the overall experiece to an B due to his follow up. I will probably call them back in the future when I have more roof work to complete. I felt he was sincere in his apology and worked to make it right. I appreciated it.

Tom checked with me to see where my concerns were. I had one place where the gutter was coming loose where the guard had pulled up and the gutter was full of leaves. Tom removed the guard, cleaned the gutter and repaired the gutter. I learned that there had been a second place I couldn't see where the same thing happened. I asked him to check around the chimney as I had recently seen a spot on my ceiling where water had come in. He caulked the chimney area as well. He removed a damaged down drain for me as well. I will get the replacement. I was very satisfied with his professionalism and his work I could see. I would definitely use Ascent Roofing Solutions again, if needed.
Description of Work: Tom removed guards and cleaned the gutters and replaced guards. He also caulked around my chimney.

Installation team arrived on time and placed tarps to protect floors and walls, set up the machine used to expand and blow insulation into attic areas. The process took most of the day to complete. The team cleaned up afterwards. The owner of the company came by to check up on the progress midway. Everyone was pleasant, courteous and efficient. The house is measurably warmer and more comfortable even on the coldest winter days.
Description of Work: Installed fiberglass blown insulation in attic areas of my condominium.
