Up to this point, I haven't had any issues. The service was good. They gave me what I needed. I've used them and I would use them again.

.I brought the car in for a routine oil change, replacement of wiper blades, tire rotation.  When I drove the car from the parking lot, the engine died everytime I slowed down.  I took the car back to National Tire and Battery and they worked diligently to find the problem.  The computer was showing "error" and the idle remained too low to keep the car running.  Eventually, they concluded there was dirt in the fuel line and they did a complete flush.  There was no discussion of an additional charge for the service.  They identified the problem, fixed the problem and the car is working fine.

I felt very uncomfortable about the way the described the problem. They may me feel that it would be a small fix. However, they had to fix the entire assembly. I asked them for the part because I wanted to see it and they showed me but refused to give it me. This made me feel very uncomfortable.

It was very good. I had no issues. They had up-front pricing. The service man did a good job. The price was reasonable as well, when compared to other places.

Overall they were very pleasant. I knew I needed tires before the winter and a flat right front tire forced my hand. I took it to NTB after looking through the ads and coupons. I arrived at the store and the man came out right away and I told him I needed new tires. He took a tire tread gauge out and checked the tires and confirmed that there was no tread on three of the four. He said that technically you should have 4 of the same, but he also said the good tire was so new that it wouldn't make much of a difference. He said he would have it done within an hour. However, when he called me back he did tell me that my driver side front wheel had a very worn tie rod, and if not fixed it wouldn't hold its alignment and I would wear our my tires significantly faster. He also informed me rear brakes could use some adjusting. I agreed to the new tires, tie rod, brake adjustment, and wheel alignment (you have to have a wheel alignment if you get a new tie rod). This meant it would take another two hours to fix. We had a wedding to go to that evening and the timing to pick up the car and get to the wedding would have been very tight timing. I explained the situation to the mechanic and asked if I could leave the car there overnight and pick it up in the morning, he said that wasn't a problem. I went to pick the car up the following morning, and when I did he started asking me about my battery and whether my car had problems starting in the morning. I told him I hadn't noticed any problems with starting it. He thought I would need to a new battery and I should get it soon before the next cold snap or I wouldn't be able to start my car. At this point I was a little worried and started to feel like he was starting to add more and more things on to the bill. I told him thank you but I would wait for next month when I needed an oil change to do that. Overall I think they did a good job, I am concerned that I kind of felt like they might have been trying to add more things to the bill. I gave them a B in price because while I think their tires are cheaper than most, I know their alignment was more expensive than other places.

Bruce has been the mechanics manager for roughly 3 years at NTB Lakewood. I met Bruce at another company and followed him to NTB. This branch performs full service mechanical services. Bruce consistently repairs what I need and does not try to sell what I do not need. He also provides me with a list of things that need service or repair and prioritizes the list so I can plan ahead. He has also honored warranty work every time I needed. I have not seen the same service at other branches. In fact, the brakes my dad bought at the Strongsville branch were warped within 2 months and they did not readily honor the warranty. He also waited over 5 hours for them to finish the work after he was told it would be 1.5 hours. The brakes Bruce put on my truck wore for years.

I needed help with a manufacturer's warranty claim for a tire I originally purchased and had mounted elsewhere. Not only was he more than happy to help, he wasn't deterred when the manufacturer started being difficult. After we got the manufacturer to play nicely, he handled the warranty process, ordered a new tire for me, and mounted it. The cost to me (the price to mount and balance the tire) was very fair.

The last time I purchased tires at this location, I paid extra for a road hazard warranty. I was led to believe that it would cover flat tires. It turns out that it only covers flat tires that can be repaired, mine had to be replaced. But I did get $50 off the price of the new tire.

The manager did not try to oversell products to my sixteen-year old son who was looking for all-weather tires for his truck. The company was more concerned with getting the boy safe tires at a not too expensive price. He could've sold him more expensive tires but didn't.
