Vaughgan's Tree Service and Landscaping

I had used this company a couple of years ago to trim our large maple tree and they did good work. I was not hesitant to use them again. Unfortunately, there has been a change in quality and ethics. We were told the price would be between $80 - 100. He charged $150 for less than 30 minutes of work. He ground out the roots from a large group of lilac bushes, two large rhododendron bushes and a small tree root. He worked less than 30 minutes and was gone. He had been told that the roots on one end of the house were near our invisible fence and I had the line marked with white flags. He went in between the flags in 2 locations and cut the buried wire in multiple locations. It was obvious that he cut the wire, you could see it. He did not bother to tell my wife, she heard the invisible fence alarm going off indicating that the system was not working. Only after she asked Ryan did he admit that he cut the line. His response was "the wires go that close to the house?" Obviously he did not understand that the little white flags with Invisible Fence on them indicated the line. He then told my wife it was no big deal to fix, just splice some wire in where it was cut. He said he was too busy to fix the problem he created right now, he needed to return the stump grinder he had rented, but could come back and fix it later. We were planning on using him for more work on our trees, but will never use or recommend him to anyone. I have pictures of the mess he left and the wires he cut if anyone would like to see his work.
