David Sommers & Associates is headquartered in downtown Kent, Ohio. David Sommers, the managing Principal and founder of the firm, began his architectural practice as a sole proprietor in 1983. Since then, the firm has continued to grow and now holds licenses not only in Ohio, but also in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, South Carolina, Hawaii, and Florida. Our current staff includes five architects, three interior designers and three project designers. In addition to our more than 30 years experience in multiple project types, the firm is comprised of four studios focusing on the following practice area: Civic - Police and Fire Stations, Animal Facilities, Restaurant/Retail Design and Adaptive re-use Projects. Each project is serviced by a team assembled specifically for that project from our personnel and our consultants. All projects are headed and directed by David L. Sommers, AIA and include a team of professionals, as well as specialized consultants. •We take our responsibilities seriously, completing projects on budget and on time. We offer a conscientious and economical design with a track record of projects that bid under budget and are Building Code compliant. •We are a LEED accredited design firm and can provide LEED certified buildings or buildings with green solutions and sustainable features. •We listen carefully and engage our clients in a collaborative design process to ensure the most innovative design solutions. Our practice is built on an extensive list of repeat business and referrals from satisfied clients.
