They told us right after we bought the items that they don't do installation. We found a contractor that then disappeared. Jack's delivered the appliances but has NO ONE that will install them. We used them previously to install ALL of our present appliances in 2011. Be very cautious about their claims of installation on their website.

Stopped by this morning with a friend. We were both in the market to by a new refrigerator. There was one salesman working. There were 2 others in the office. We were waiting patiently in same room as salesman and other customer. Although he passed us several times, we were never addressed. Waited about 20 minutes. If he would have explained that it would be a few minutes or even longer we would have waited. So sorry that I drove all the way from Westerville. Ended up at another store and bought a refrigerator and stove.

The sales representatives at this long time family-owned business are extremely knowledgeable about the appliances they sell. They also apply no sales pressure whatsoever, allowing the customer to make an informed decision about which product best addresses all their needs. They answer every question and concern thoroughly. We were particularly impressed with Tom Anthony, who attended to us, and purchased two Bosch dishwashers which were delivered and installed today. The gentleman who installed ours, Jared, was a very experienced pro who took great care in removing the old dishwashers and installing the new ones, ensuring that no damage to cabinetry and hardwood flooring occurred, leaving no traces that he had been here. This was our first purchase, but definitely not our last, from a business that clearly hires high-quality people who know what they are doing, unlike the big box stores against whom they compete. We highly recommend Jack's to everyone who knows the difference.

For many years, I had bought all my appliances from Clintonville Electric, always preferring the family owned businesses to the large, "big-box" stores, where you generally get high-pressure sales people who don't know what they're doing.  So I was excited that  Jack's Appliances, a family owned business in Columbus for many years, was still around, since CE had closed.
I was impressed with the way I was treated at their store, by Mark Mitchell, who I assume, is related to the owner.  He answered all my questions about buying a stove, and he showed me the model that seemed to fit my needs.  There wasn't a "high-pressure" tactic used at all, and I honestly felt that my satisfaction was his number one priority. So I placed my order, and was further impressed that the stove would be delivered C.O.D., with no down payment required. Mark called me a few days later to arrange the delivery date.

On the delivery date, the men came on time, but with a stove that did not fit in my kitchen.  Apparently, I needed a different model.  Mark did in fact call me later that day with an apology and an assurance that they would "make it right" with the correct slide-in model.  He also assured me that it wasn't my fault.  I was under the impression that it would only be a short delay (a few days), but apparently there was a miscommunication.   My stove had to be special ordered.   Since I did not know that--or do not remember him telling me that--after not hearing anything for a few weeks, I thought they had "written me off" so to speak as a small-time customer compared to some of their clientele, who undoubtedly spend a lot more on appliances that I do!

I was wrong.  A few weeks later, Mark called me to re-arrange the delivery date, after I told him that I was a bit disappointed at what I thought was a lack of  follow-up, he apologized, assuring me that it was a miscommunication about the special ordering status, and  he promised to make it right with a professional, on-time delivery--at a time and date of my choosing!

He did.   And a professional appliance delivery service handled everything.   He called two days later to verify that everything went OK. and is even allowing me to mail in my check at my convenience!  And so I am revising my original review to reflect how pleased I am with the entire experience.  Miscommunication can happen any time, and it's nice to know that Jack's Appliances  made sure that everything was made right once they knew what happened.

They have my strong recommendation to all Angie's List customers.

We purchased our Maytag washer and dryer from Jack's Appliance back in 2001. The dryer ran perfectly for 13 years, but today I called with an urgent and critical need to have it repaired the same day. The lady who took my call was very sympathetic to my situation and dispatched one of their technicians, Gus, to come to our home within 15 minutes. The dryer was not heating up and Gus found the problem within minutes. Fortunately, he had the replacement part on hand and was able to fix our dryer within 30 minutes. He and Jack's Appliance saved the day for me. I was so grateful.

Initially the gear assembly had to be replaced. The washer continued to leak some water on the floor after the repair. It took three trips to get the washer to leak so we could determine the source. The repair person fixed it and the washer has been fine since. The gentleman was very professional and candid in answering questions about whether the washer should be replaced or repaired. I would use this provider again.

The sales man are very informative and they gave us a better price than HH Gregg and Best Buy on the appliances we were looking to buy. Kitchen Aid was running a rebate at the time of our purchase and Jack's even submitted everything we needed to get the rebate for us. They are awesome!!

The service technician said he did not know what was causing the problem. At my direct request, he took a few things apart so that I could clean parts. However, he was reluctant to remove many parts, charged me $133 for a service call and then left. I found a You Tube video that provided clear instructions on taking apart and cleaning out things that could clog the dishwasher - but the service technician from Jack's completed less than half of those steps and offered excuses about why he couldn't take more parts apart. The problem has not been fixed.

Salesman was very helpful, polite, and knowledgable. Store was well lit, clean, attractive, and everything was displayed in a pleasing way. In the end, I did not purchase my dishwasher here as I found what I needed somewhere else at a better price. Should I need a large appliance in the future, I will return here to consider their availability.

Went to Jack's because I heard it was family owned. I was greeted and waited on immediately-got an estimate and they sent Ben out to measure to be sure what I picked would fit. I check the price against both Lowes and Home Depot online (after waiting forever in the two stores for help and leaving without quotes) and Jack's was the best price too. I will definately go back when my next appliance conks out.

This was, by far, my best experience with purchasing an appliance. The best part was when the salesperson, Chris, felt that the manufacture date for our washer and dryer would continue to get pushed back, he offered me a deal on a set of appliances that was already on stock that I couldn't pass up. I'm sure he made less money on the deal.
He even worked to minimize the delivery window so that it was a quarter of what I have experience in the past (it was 90 minutes later than the earliest time possible). The delivery team was courteous, efficient and careful.
I never expect these things to go perfectly but Jack's was miles ahead of the competition.

It was an older gentleman. He came out and tore things apart and looked at it. He didn't get it fixed but he didn't charge very much either. We ended up buying a new washer and dryer but it was a good experience. He came out twice so the price was very, very reasonable. The price was cheap and it was good quality. He came out within a couple of days after we contacted him. He was on time and came when he said. He was very professional. We would use him again.

I called to make the appointment since I had a broken heating elemnet in my oven. The repair man himself called me back for the model number to bring the part with him. He arrived at the scheduled time of 9:30. He installed the part and checked for proper operation. He was done within 20 minutes. $60 Service call, $30 part.

When I called Jack's appliance and explained my situation (repair or replace), they put me through to a sales rep. He asked some questions about the age and type of dishwasher in question. Since my dishwasher had a wood panel on the front, my choices for replacement were limited. He gave the price of an equivalent dishwasher. Based on the information that I had given him, he stated that the dishwasher was probably half way through its life cycle and suggested that I repair the dishwasher if the repair cost was less than $350. I was impressed with the fact that he didn't pressure me into buying a new dishwasher and thanked him for his advice. As it turned out, the repair was less than $100 and the dishwasher is working fine. Based on this sales person's honest opinion, I would recommend Jack's Appliance as a retailer to strongly consider when purchasing appliances.

When the workmen came to install the dryer it was discovered that there was NO WAY anyone could get it around the bend in our basement stairs. The owner not only did not charge us anything for their time or lost sale, he also spent a good bit of time searching for a dryer we could use. It turned out to be one he couldn't handle for us, but he told us about it anyway.
