We had Bonsky Brad Sheet Metal Heating & A/ out to put air conditioning in our home. We went with them, because they placed the heating system in our home before we purchased it, and the price was right. We had a horrible experience with this company. The house was filled with carbon monoxide while they were in the basement. This had never happened before. They would not accept blame even though the Fire Department and separate plumber (paid) said it was not the water heater. His men left after the Fire Department kicked everyone out of the house. They said the Fire Department told them to leave, but they asked them if they COULD leave. When they left, they did not set up an appointment to come back. They left the house a MESS. The Fire Department had to shut off the water heater per protocol even though they didn’t think it was causing the problem. So, the Fire Department left and I had no hot water. Brad Bonsky’s men also left trash and handprints everywhere. They did not caulk the hole they drilled to run the AC line. When I called Bonsky, he said my toddler was fine in the house, because his men were fine in the basement. He also interrupted, made a comment about my age preventing me from understanding the complexities of what was happening. As a registered nurse here in Canton Ohio, I know the level was high enough to start causing symptoms in an adult. The levels were not high enough to cause immediate death, but an adult is not allowed to work in the levels that were in the basement nor in the upstairs. This is a heavy gas, so it would have killed my toddler much sooner than it would have an adult. No apology. He did have one of his men (NOT A PLUMBER because he couldn’t get in contact with him) out to turn back on our water and run tests to see if it was the water tank. Brad Bonskey showed up for 30 minutes that morning. No apology. He talked over me and did not allow me to finish. He then started checking out my furnace including recommendations to the system. He did something with my hookup for a log burner without asking if I was okay with him dismantling the setup. Their tests showed the water tank was fine. I was told they have a special cleaner to remove all of the grime they left all over my door, rooms, hallways, etc. What they actually used was a heavy-duty blue paper towel dipped in water. That may remove the dark coloring after much scrubbing, BUT that does not remove the grease. I had to use a separate cleaner to get the sticky residue off of the walls. They did attempt to caulk up the hole to outside, but left it half done. They had new tape on multiple places on our new furnace which looks AWFUL. Our AC broke overnight and we had to have them out AGAIN (3rd day in a row) and had them finish caulking the hole up then. On the 4th day, I was uncomfortable with the situation with the water heater and the lack of answers, so I PAID a plumber to come out and double-check their work. He found nothing wrong with the water heater. Bonsky made no attempts to try and reimburse us for the lost work after having to be available for them 3 days a row and for damages. We never received any sort of apology and any attempt to communicate with Bonsky was treated with unprofessionalism on his part. I called in to the office to let them know I was very unhappy with the service we received. I did not receive a call back. I had already paid in full, so I guess they didn't care enough. No carbon monoxide from the basement since they left. You get what you pay for. We need our furnace replaced here in the near future. We would not go with this company nor recommend them. Good thing I had a detector in my home. If you don't have one, or you have an old one, please purchase one.
