LUMBER LIQUIDATORS

Dealing with Lumber Liquidators (Florence, KY location) has been one hassle after another. We placed our order in-store and was given a phone number to call for someone to come out and measure for the install. As with probably most people, we really had no idea what we were doing. So right off the bat, it would?ve been nice for one of the experienced sales persons to have let us know it was a better idea to have someone come out and measure first before placing our order. Scheduling the measurement was fast and easy and within a day, we had received an email that had also obviously been sent to Lumber Liquidators with the needed materials and installation quote. The materials list was larger than our initial order so I called Lumber Liquidators to make sure there wouldn?t be a problem getting the rest. I had also noted we were given the wrong promotional deal on our Lumber Liquidators credit card so wanted to inquire about that. First off, Lumber Liquidators could not find where the materials list had been emailed to them. Secondly, I was told the promotional deal had to be fixed through Synchrony bank and not them. To make a long story short, two hours later and several phone calls back and forth, I wound up emailing Lumber Liquidators the materials list myself and gave up trying to fix the promotional deal, as Synchrony told me Lumber Liquidators needed to fix it and vice versa. However, I was assured by Lumber Liquidators that all of the materials needed would be ready when it was time to pick them up. Pick up day comes, we load the car up and pay the balance for the extra materials. A week later, install starts and we?re told we weren?t supplied all of the necessary molding pieces needed even though they were included on the materials list. A two day install now turns into three days over a two week period because the missing moldings had to be ordered. In the end, we had five boxes of flooring left over because the installers determined there was an area in which we couldn?t use it. It?s important to note that Lumber Liquidators only has a 30 day return policy, which we were over. So we called them, explained that we were over the return time and was told it wouldn?t be a problem. It was a problem. After loading the car up and making a special 30 minute trip, they would not take back the flooring. I don?t think we?ll be doing business with them again and I certainly won?t be recommending them to anyone else.

They were very helpful. We wen't with Brazilian Cherry. They taught us that the color gets richer within a few months and is is so true. Floor looks gorgeous. One thing I would change is that if a piece of wood looks really off color don't use it. We have a two boards that have not darkened with the rest of the floor. We bought the floor nailer that was recommended and it worked out great. I was able to resell it on Craigslist quickly after the job was finished.
