Jaguar Exterior Builder is a very professional company. I got my deck and a roof for the deck and it was very nicely done. The staff is friendly and nice. Would recommend them.

Do not be fooled by the slick branding and fancy website. This guy is an incompetent crook and uses random subcontractors (not mentioned in the contract you sign) to do the work. He is a salesman, not a deck builder. I’m keeping this as brief as I can, sticking to the main complaint, but I could write several pages. Once Jay had my deposit, the communication and customer service disappeared. One week before the original start date, Jay told me he’d applied for the permit and the project would start on time, but when I called the building department, they informed me that no permits had been requested for my address. When the subcontractor and his helper showed up three weeks later, they did not finish digging holes for the support posts because the site was full of buried construction debris. He didn’t think the site/holes would pass inspection. I have no idea why they kept digging for an entire afternoon, but they left my property with six dangerous 24- to 30-inch deep holes and scattered bricks and other debris pulled from them. Jay ordered the framing materials a few days later, even though his sub informed him of the conditions. I told him I didn’t want them delivered until after the inspection, but he had them delivered anyway. The site/holes did not pass inspection. I offered to work with Jay to design another project to use the materials. He would not engage helpfully in the conversation and quit returning my texts, keeping my deposit and leaving the unwanted framing materials on my property. I filed complaints through the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General’s Office, offering to cover the permit/inspection costs and the time his sub took to discover the conditions, but requesting the rest of my deposit back because (1) It is not my fault that he did not inspect the site or that it was unsuitable for the build, and (2) I offered to do a different project with the materials told him not to deliver in the first place. Jay ignored all communication from these agencies. After giving him nearly four months to make it right, I am doing what I should have done in the first place: Posting this review in as many places as I can think of, and suing him for my deposit and other damages.

It was amazing, very professional and transparent, everything was explain from beginning to end and exceeded all expectations, would highly recommend for all deck and porch work.
