My daughter signed a contract with them to move. I looked over the contract and was talking to her about it. She stated that yesterday when the lady called to confirm she explained that delivery is considered when we pull up to the house and that's when they wanted their payment. I've used movers on two other occassions and that was never the way it worked. He threatened her that if she said another word he would not show up and keep her deposit, which was $93. I called him and was careful to not say anything out of hand. He came back and said "We've been in business for a long time and we know how you people are". He's seen my daughter and knows that we are considered black. In their contract it says they accept cash or certified funds which he said my daughter is a liar for stating that, even though it was in the contract, and they also take credit card but that isn't on the contract.

I was not able to purchase another home until March 2007 and I then had New Beginnings bring my furniture & belongings to my new home. The condition of my things was terrible. He had some type of water leakage and much of my furniture was water damaged. He initially sent someone to "treat" the furniture and clean the upholstered furniture. Of course it didn't have good results and then he refused to be responsible. When I submitted a claim with my insurance company he told the adjuster that he had a defective concrete deck and it accumulated condensation. Of course he never told me that. My company denied the claim because of building defect! I then submitted to his insurance company. They came up with a small settlement (no where near what my furniture damage was) but he had a $500 deductible. He has never paid me the $500. They also lied on the inventory sheet when storing my furniture marking everything as damaged & old. When I showed the adjuster he agreed that that was a untrue.
Description of Work: I sold my home and put all my household belongings in this company's storage facility. He does moving & storage. I was assured that it was a clean, dry facility. This occurred in 1999. The money I paid included moving & storage costs.

We were satisfied with their work. They did a rough estimate of the job prior to moving, and told us what their rates were per hour. They advised us what off-day times we could schedule in order to save money. They provided us with all the boxes we needed for the move. On the day of the move, their workers showed up on time and worked very hard. Once we arrived at the new place, they were very helpful and willing to move stuff room-to-room when we changed our minds. Nothing was damaged in the course of the move.
Description of Work: They moved most of the large items, furniture, appliances from house in Cleveland Heights down to Solon.

AVOID USING THIS MOVING COMPANY. IF A PROBLEM OCCURS, THE CUSTOMER WILL BE MADE THE SCAPEGOAT. CALL OTHER MOVING COMPANY OWNERS, THEY WILL BEHAVE PROFESSIONALLY AND CONFIDENTLY.
Description of Work: MOVED NEW FURNITURE FROM FURNITURE STORE TO MY HOME. THEY MISSED PICKING UP ONE PIECE OF FURNITURE FROM THE STORE AND WOULD HAVE GONE BACK TO PICK IT UP BUT THEY WOULD HAVE CHARGED ME AGAIN. WHEN I TRIED TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE WITH THE OWNER OF THE MOVING BUSINESS HE BECAME BELLIGERENT, THREATENING, AND ANTAGONISTIC. THE FURNITURE STORE OWNER KINDLY TOOK CARE OF THE MISSING PIECE AND DELIVERED IT TO MY HOME WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGE.
