Description of Work: The first service call was good. He quickly repaired my toilet that was becoming difficult to flush. However after looking at my shower he said it was going to be a major repair ($$$) which included cutting through the wall. I decided to wait. A month later I called and asked them to come back out and fix my shower. It was a quick repair not requiring cutting into the wall or replacing any parts. The 2nd tech was obviously way more experienced. I only wish he had been there for the first call so I would not have had to pay 2 (2nd was discounted) service charges.

Description of Work: I have used Amanda Plumbing many times and they have never let me down. I run a |bed and breakfast in a restored barn on our property. Hours before a wedding our septic pump broke spewing waste in our utility room and making the b and b smell like an outhouse. NO other plumber would come out, when I called Amanda they came within a half an hour and fixed everything on a Saturday afternoon. |The man doing a bath remodel for me screwed up the plumbing. Once again Amanda came to there rescue and fixed everything, detailing all the work. The man who was here said they have a philosophy, leave the job so it's easier for the next person to work on. |They are on time, pleasant and do a fantastic job.

Description of Work: Installed underground downspout drains. Left a very big mess. dumped grass into trench. Did not make any attempt to smooth out ditch that was dug. Used wrong equipment to dig trench; way to big. Damaged neighbors lawn after boundaries were point out to crew. Owner blew it off saying this was typical and I did not pay for landscaping. Said he would drive by and never talked with me. Took 20 hours to correct there damage. I should have just done the job myself.

I am extremely disappointed to have such an unhappy customer, even more because I am not sure how to remedy the situation for the customer. First, I know I have already spoken with you but I would like to state again a few things in hopes of you better understanding the typical expectations of a job such as this. I came to the home to look at the property and discuss the downspout replacement. From there, I provided a written estimate with the exact price and the scope of the job. At this time, we always explain there will be no landscaping as well as put this in the estimate provided which is signed by the customer. My dig crew is out nearly every day and the majority of the time we leave the site with happy customers. However, people sometimes underestimate the situation they will be left with after an excavator has dug up their yard. Please note, we absolutely did smooth out the ditch that was dug and we always perform a neat backfill. We neatly pile the dirt back into the ditch. I tried to explain that it will need 30-60 days to settle back down before it will start getting back to normal. There is no way to make it look as if we were never there after you dig up a yard. In response to your complaint about the equipment used, please understand that the mini tracked backhoe was the correct size for the job. If you feel the equipment used could have been smaller, there is not smaller equipment for a job such as this. Lastly, whenever a dig job is done, especially of this size, you will need to hire a landscaper to fix the yard or do it yourself as you stated. We are plumbers and we backfill as neatly as possible and always try our best to make the area look neat in order to keep a happy customer. Once I spoke to you about your concerns, I stopped by. I saw the dig crew had left the yard as it should be, neatly backfilled. I called to let you know I had stopped by, but received no answer. I apologize for not making sure your expectations were better set before the job was started. I did not know what else we could do for you, we are only able to leave the dirt piled in order to let it settle and smooth out the rest.
