Description of Work: Amanda Plumbing came in and repaired another plumbers huge disaster. We remodeled a bath and the other plumber did not put washers on the one sink causing it to leak on our brand new cabinets while we were gone for the weekend, causing mold. We couldn't get the other guy to answer the phone. Amanda sent a man right out. They corrected this part and loosed how tight the other man had them screwed down. The black o ring was bulging out around the drain, it was so tight it could have cracked the sink. We have now used them for several things and I could kick myself for letting the other guy do the job and not have Amanda plumbing out in the first place.

Description of Work: We had a broken drain in the kids bathtub that I had tried and tried to fix myself but just could not do it despite a few trips to Lowes and/or Menards. I finally called Amanda Plumbing which is what I should have done right away. We have used Amanda multiple times over the years and have always received great service.

Description of Work: The kitchen drain was clogged and I could not unclog it. I called Amanda Plumbing and Joe arrived at the designated time. He removed his boots at the door although I told him it was not necessary. He did this for each trip to the truck for equipment. Joe managed to remove the clog and then "fine tuned" some plumbing that I had done under the sink. He cleaned up his mess and even mopped the entire kitchen floor before leaving. All of this was done on New Years Eve afternoon when I am sure he had other plans. He was super and I will definitely call Amanda first for my plumbing needs.

Description of Work: Removed existing and installed new kitchen faucet. Excellent, professional service and fairly priced. What I REALLY LIKED was that they gave me a ballpark of what it would cost on the phone when most other plumbers wouldn't (even though they probably all install 10 faucets a day). I realize there are unknown variables in any plumbing job, but it is aggravating that so many plumbers wouldn't even give me a *range* on the phone when I was trying to figure out what it was going to cost to install a kitchen faucet in a 9 yr old house. Instead, most plumbers want to send someone out to assess the situation and give you a quote while they're standing in your kitchen. It's really hard to say NO to someone standing in your kitchen; and you have no idea if it's a good price or a huge rip-off. I'll use Amanda Plumbing every time in future as I appreciate business who don't try to play games with people.

Description of Work: They replaced a sump pump and rerouted a battery backup sump pump so it would flow better when in use. We have Used Amanda for years and wouldn't use anyone else. They are prompt, courteous and (above all) honest about what the problem is.

Description of Work: We had Amanda Plumbing install a deduct meter(supplied to us by the city water dept.)and associated piping installed in our basement. This meter deduct meter is used to deduct outside water use and thus the sewer tax for water that does not end up in the sanitary sewer. The installation was performed to our satisfaction. At that time I contacted Amanda Plumbing directly and not thru a second or third party.

Description of Work: I hired Amanda Plumbing to install a hose spigot on the west side of my house. I gave them permission to do the work while I was at work. When I got home I saw that the spigot was installed but I also noticed a hole in my siding that should not have been there. I called Amanda Plumbing and reported the problem to an employee. Apparently, the person who installed it was not real experienced and had accidentally made the hole in the wrong spot (too low, the foundation block), so he just made another hole in the right spot and installed the spigot. He did not leave me a note or say anything to anyone at Amanda Plumbing about what he had done, just left the job with the hole in my siding without saying anything to anyone. I had to contact Amanda Plumbing to complain. They were not going to replace the siding that was damaged, but instead filled the hole with a putty. Its not the fact so much that the hole is there, it was irresponsible for the installer to not inform me or anyone what he had done, like I was not going to notice? | |on another occasion, I hired Amanda Plumbing to fix the bathroom sink stopper that was not working properly. the guy who they sent out tried to take the lever that was the original part of my sink (two tone gold/silver) and replace it with a chrome part when I wasn't looking. It didn't even match. I'm not sure why he wanted it. I caught it and insisted that he take my part back out of his toolbox and put it back in my sink, which he did. I thought the prices were very reasonable and the owner likeable, but the service staff were least to be desired.

Description of Work: The connected a natural gas line from the main to the house. This involved over 300' of trenching and a substantial amount of pipe inside the house. They coordinated permits and subs (trenching). I was able to see the testing process and was very confident that the work was done correctly.
