Amanda Plumbing Sewer & Drain

l called Amanda Plumbing for help with a toilet leak on Friday morning and Glen was at my home before noon. From the initial phone call to the bad news about my damaged sub flooring, Amanda Plumbing provided quality service. Glen explained my plumbing issue and the next steps I will need to take, providing estimates for each option. He also fixed a sink faucet for me. I'm unhappy that I have to replace flooring but am quite satisfied with the service I received from Amanda Plumbing and will not hesitate to call them again.

We live in a area that is wetter than other places. Consequently our sump pump runs a lot - more than those of some of our neighbors, who live on dryer land. Our basement is fully finished with dry wall, carpet, and some nice woodwork. We cannot afford to have the sump pump fail. The last one installed for us by Amanda lasted about 4 years and performed flawlessly. During that time we've had a number of power outages and the battery pump performed perfestly - once for almost 9 hours during and after a storm. The main sump pump started grinding at 11:30 PM on Saturday night. I called Doug and he volunteered to have someone come right then or on Sunday if I wanted. However, he suggested that we could wait for Monday because it would be less expensive and the pump and backup system would carry us, Dryer weather was forecast as well. His techs were here first thing on Monday and replaced two items.Some one else had to get the battery and install it later that morning, They did NOT chrage me for any extra trip. I only paid for the battery. The entire job was completed by 11:00 AM. The costs may seem high to some, but we opted for their top of the line equipment because we have a lot invested in the basement finishing. Doug and the Amanda techs made a point of letting us know that there were less expensive options they could do for us. They gave us Angie discounts on everything. We've used Amanda for all of our plumbing over the last 8 years and have been well satisfied with them every time.

THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED AND PREFORMED THE SERVICE. IT TOOK LESS THAN 90 MINUTES TO COMPLETE THE SERVICE. THE JOB WAS EASIER THAN ANTICIPATED. I WAS EXPECTING A BILL LOWER THAN THE ESTIMATED BASED ON THE FACT THAT THEIR HOURLY RATE IS $95.00 PER HOUR. BEFORE I STATED THIS, THE TECHNICIAN CALLED THE OWNER TO GET A PRICE AND WAS TOLD THE BILL WOULD BE $305. I WAS APPALLED AT THE CHARGE. THIS IS AN HOURLY RATE OF $200 PER HOUR. I ALSO HAD THE TECHNICIAN GIVE ME A QUOTE FOR EXTENDING A GAS LINE TO MY KITCHEN. HE SAID THAT IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 3 HOURS AT A RATE OF $95 PER HOUR PLUS A SERVICE CALL CHARGE OF ABOUT $35 DOLLARS. WHEN I CALLED THE OWNER HE SAID THAT IS WHAT HE QUOTED AND I SHOULD BE HAPPY WITH THE PRICE. I STATED HE WAS RIGHT WITH THE QUOTE BUT THAT WAS BASED ON IT TAKING UP TO 1.5 HOURS PER DRAIN NOT 1.5 HOURS FOR BOTH. I TRIED TO REASON WITH HIM AND EVEN MENTIONED THAT I PLANNED ON USING THEM FOR ANOTHER JOB BUT HE WAS SHORT AND CURT AND WOULD NOT EVEN CONSIDER LOWERING THE PRICE. I USED THIS COMPANY BASED ON THE ANGIE'S LIST RATING BUT WILL NOT BE USING THEM AGAIN. FYI THE TECHNICIAN ALSO FELT THE CHARGE WAS UNREASONABLE.

Have had Amanda Plumbing out on several occasions, mostly to finish remodeling work that specialty contractors were unable to complete or screwed up. I have been very satisfied with their work and availability. The pricing is very satisfactory, and they have the parts they need when they arrive.From the people at the office that take my call to the work in the field, they try to ease the problem and correct it.

I contacted Amanda plumbing on Monday, and asked if someone could come out asap. They had a person come out to my house on the same Tuesday. He was professional and courteous. He walked around the house and I showed him what needed repaired, he gave me an estimate of $350-400 on the spot. He made a quick trip back to the office to get some additional parts, returned immediately and completed the job. All the repairs look excellent, and the job was completed quickly. The final price fell right within the estimate, all the totals on the written invoice appeared fair. I would use Amanda again.

Rick arrived at our house in the morning, as scheduled. He inspected our tank and informed us that the thermostat was set too low. He set the thermostat at an appropriate temperature and then continued the inspection. The tain was drained of sediment and he also replaced a bad T&P value, saving us from a future hassle. He was pleasant and patient with our questions. We have used Amanda Plumbing for various plumbing issues such as leaky toilets, clogged drains, and water heater issues since we moved into our house 6 years ago. We have always had positive experiences with the plumbers that have come out to the house. They have been knowledgeable and helpful.

They relocated a gas line for me inside the house. I like everything they did. They were professional. They were punctual.

It went very well. I called Friday evening after I returned from work and they said they could send their on call guy over and Richie showed up in about 20 minutes and was very nice and professional and completed everything in about half an hour. I used them once before about 6 months ago and John was also very nice and professional. The only plumber I will call from now on.

The person was professional. He put booties on and had towels just in case water got on the floor. He asked ahead of time if he could use my toilet paper to test it out. The problem was addressed in about a half an hour. I liked that he test flushed a number of times to ensure he solved the problem.

It was Sunday and we had no hot water pressure. Thought it was a problem with the hot water tank. So we called 5 plumbing companies. One could not come out until Monday, the price for two others was ridiculous and another kept us on hold until we decided to hang up. We then called Amanda Plumbing and within an hour we had someone at our house (Richie). He diagnosed the problem quickly and the hot water pressure was restored. Although there was an overtime charge for a Sunday, it was not as ridiculous as two other well-known companies. We were happy just to have hot water again!

They always provide great service over the phone. We had a hot water heater issue that the home warranty took care of. However, I called them first for advice before the home warranty people did the work. They do heating and air conditioning work, plumbing and gas line work. They are very prompt and they really know what they are doing. Their prices are almost always better than any other plumbers that I have used.

Excellent experience start to finish. Was able to come out on day I called despite many other plumbers not being able to commit. Called before they headed over. Covered shoes before entering house. Identified and repaired problem quickly. Provided resource for repairing drywall. I'd use them again in a second. I assume their hourly rate is competitive. Seems plumbing has gotten expensive over the years but you probably get what you pay for.

They were very good and professional when they came out. They cleaned things up and did a very good job. Their price was very reasonable and their quality of work was very good. The work was done in a timely manner.

They were fast, they were efficient, and they came right out. They knew what the problem was and they had the parts to fix it on their truck. I recommend them.

The person giving the estimate over the phone was very pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, their prices were higher than a competitors pricing for the same size unit.

They seem to do good work. Two or three years ago we had a sink put in our kitchen and it wasn't working as well as it could, so I called them, they followed up with me and didn't charge me for the follow-up. I don't really blame them, but they take credit cards but charge an extra 2% for using them. I really don't have anything to compare them to because I haven't really done any comparison shopping. All the work they have done has been good. About a year ago, they came in and redone the inside of the toilets.

The service tech was prompt, professional, and showed the utmost in expertise. I showed him the area to go to, as we had a similar problem in the past. He worked quickly and yet thoroughly At the cap area to the septic tank, he noticed almost no water exiting the pipe. He noted a full tank, too, as suspected based on the time since last cleaning. He worked quickly yet thoroughly. He had trouble relieving the obstruction appropriately, but got it unclogged. He recommended the camera to determine the specific problem. However, he suspected we need to replace the entire exterior pipe since the current one is thin and cracked. We agreed; this was true. He shared with us the entire procedure for replacing the pipe in case we wanted to do the work ourselves. He quoted us the fee in case we wanted to have a camera scoping done. He had the 'bedside manner' of an old friend. We will definitely use Amanda's Plumbing service again. Very impressive in all areas of service.

The Plumber was very courteous, clean, and professional. However, the work performed, while quite functional, was not done in a neat and workmanlike manner. The piping was not level or square on the poutside of my house. The plumbin inside my house was not square, straight, or anchored correctly. I do not believe that the owner of Amanda Plumbing would have accepted workmanship liek this in his house. so I';m not sure why it was O.K. for mine.

They were really responsive to come out and give an estimate. They were also pretty quick to schedule the work. They were willing to work with me for whatever need I had. Whether I needed to go around the barn or cut through the driveway. They would have done it any way. They were pleasant to work with. I had a little bit of an issue afterward and they worked with me to follow up on what the issue was.

I spent $163.57. They did a good job but they really overcharged me. I know that the price of the part they used is approximately $25. They charged me $73.57 for it. They are a family-kind business and they need to make money but it was a 10 minute job. I thought that they were extremely overpriced. I would suggest others to get multiple quotes before using them. They did the job how it was supposed to be done. I will probably not use this company in the future. They will not be among the first companies I will call for this kind of work.

It went fantastic. I asked them in to give an estimate for creating new bathroom in my house. Glenn, came out and gave an estimate for 2500 with everything included. He and his team were here and able to find an electrical connection and rearrange some closets to find the space. He was able to find a space and install the Sani-flush toilet and solve the problem of having a home built on slab and adding new plumbing. It works fantastically. I am going to have them back to work on main bath as well. He is very creative and reasonable in price.

Glen did a super job in all respects. He was helpful, polite and communicated very well. He had to make numerous trips to our house, as he was working around the other contractor's schedule. He explained everything right from the beginning when he provided the quote.

Amanda Plumbing needs to send their receptionist to a customer service course. I spoke to her twice and she never sound enthusiastic during the calls. In fact, at one point she was being rude so I told her to cancel the appointment. I signed up with Angie's List with the hopes to weed out this kind of people but unfortunately it doesn't look like that it's working. Caveat Emptor!

My experience with them is excellent. They are always very timely and their quotes are usually right on target. They work quickly and very efficiently. We will continue to use them in the future.

They are great; they came on time and did what they agreed to do. They were clean, very efficient and it could not have been better.
