Woodruff Tree Service

Woodruff sent out a crew of 3 or 4 guys and they performed the job quickly and professionally. My family and I were on our way out of town when they arrived so I paid them and trusted them to do the work unsupervised. When I returned the work was completed and the clean up made it seem like they had never been there. Good work at a reasonable price.

I called and scheduled an appt to have them come out for an estimate the following Saturday and they never showed up and never called. I called Saturday and left a message and they called me back Monday and we scheduled another appointment on Wednesday, and again they did not show up and did not call me. I am assuming they didn’t show because it was raining on Wednesday but they still should have called to cancel. Also, they still could have given an estimate when it was raining.

Contacted Woodruffs and then responded much more promptly and reliably than other services. They came the next day to perform the work after providing a very reasonable estimate. They brought a crew of five and completed the work in about 1.5 hours. They were very professional and walked around with me to make sure everything was completed according to my expectations. They did a thorough job cleaning up after the work was done. I was very pleased with the work and would definitely recommend them.

Woodruff did an excellent job. I called 7 tree services at 7PM Friday, Woodruff was the only one to answer after hours. They were out first thing the next morning and gave me a free estimate on the spot. They were able to remove the broken limb from our tree/house later that day. Overall excellent job.

The company's representative arrived on time and after first providing me with an estimate (which I accepted), he promptly set to work. He knew exactly what he was doing and required no supervision on my part. When he finished, he asked me to look over the work and indicate whether or not it was acceptable (which it was). I paid him by check and he provided me with a receipt with his business' address and phone number. I also asked him to quote what it would cost to cut down several trees on my property and the figure he quoted was comparable to what other businesses in my area would have charged me for the same work.

It went really well, from estimate to job completion. I would use Woodruff Tree Service again.

Mike, of Woodruff Tree Service, and his team made quick work of the removal and clean up of six trees. The team was professional, on time, and cleaned the grounds of any debris. When I received the Proposal of Work, Mike came on-site personally. I showed him part of a tree that had just had a significant portion break off and other trees that were either dead or rotting. Evaluating the property, I feel he gave me an honest opinion on what should be done, timeline of said work, and a fair/good faith estimate. His team was able to come back the very next day to complete the work. While on site, an additional tree was identified to have significant rot. Mike was able to negotiate a fair price for its removal. All debris was removed. The trunk/branches were cut and stacked neatly. Mike even has his team trim low branches, not part of proposal, for free. I'm very pleased with my experience with Woodruff Tree Service. Not only would I use them again, but I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs any tree services performed.

The job went very well. The crew showed up when scheduled, did a thorough and careful job, and cleaned up every twig prior to departing. I'm very pleased with their work and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

The work was performed as discussed. We were very pleased that their price included clean-up and removal of cut limbs, whereas other companies charged extra.

We and our neighbor were very impressed with their work. From the initial estimate to the completion of the work, professionalism if Woodruff's first name. A crew of 4-5 guys came out and went right to work. They brought a mulching van with them to grind the branches we didn't want. As we wanted the bigger branches and such for firewood, the guys cut them into managable sections and neatly stacked them where we requested. As for the overgrown tree by the deck/house, they were very careful to divert the branches from falling on the deck (quite a feat). They trimmed the tree to our specifications. When all the trimming was completed, they cleaned up with nary a stray leafor branch in sight. In our opinion, Woodruff's did a terrific job and couldn't have been more courteous or professional. We will DEFINITELY use their services again.

They were not equiped to do the job I wanted them to do. They were nice and professional.

I was given a fair estimate for the trimming of one tree. When they came to do the work, they stayed true to the estimate. I asked them to trim a second tree and haul away some brush for me and they were happy to do the additional work and were very fair on this cost as well. I was happy with the trimming, their professionalism, the way they left my yard (everything was hauled and raked) and the timeliness of the job. I would definitely recommend them to my neighbors.

It was quick and we were happy with the services.

They were polite and professional, and their cleanup was good. They cracked the sidewalk while doing the work, and they finally finished repairing my sidewalk on Tuesday; it took them a little long to repair it. The tree removal was fine, but I wasn’t happy with their responsiveness to the sidewalk repair. I would not use them again in the future.

The tree was hitting the bedroom window on windy days, so we needed to get it trimmed. Woodruff came out to fix the problem and they did a great job. They were super courteous which is very important to me. They worked with me on the price which I appreciated.

Addendum to the original posting dated 9/12/2011: Left a message early today (9/13/2011) expressing our disappoinment at their missed appointment and failure to return our calls. Within a few hours we were contacted and the serviceperson arrived promptly at our home. Shortly thereafter the crew arrived and completed the job requested. We were given a 50% discount for the services and profuse apologies for their error for which we were most grateful. Seems Woodruff got inundated with replies to their coupon offer and were challenged to keep up. Hopefully they can rectify this situation as the job they performed was well done. 9/12/2011: Placed a call to Woodruff Tree Service on Wednesday, September 7th to request an appointment for a bid to have a tree removed and its stump ground. The person I spoke with made arrangements for an appointment on Friday, September 9th at 11:00 AM. I provided both my home and cell phone numbers when the appointment was made. 11:00 AM Friday came and went with no one showing up for the appointment or calling us to reschedule. We did call Woodruff later in the day but no one answered. We left a voicemail message expressing our disappointment at the missed appointment and requested a return call to potentially reschedule the appointment. It is now Monday evening and we have not received any call to either explain the missed appointment or to offer us a reschedule. Very disappointing especially in light of the wonderful coupon offer Woodruff is offering on Angie's List! Such poor customer service has encouraged to look for another service provider.

I purchased the Angie's Big Deal coupon for tree service and emailed Woodruff with my details. They replied with a phone call the next day and agreed to meet me conveniently during my lunch hour to provide an estimate. The estimator arrived on time and proposed $325.00 for the job. I accepted and he scheduled the work for that same afternoon. I arrived home that evening and my trees and stumps were gone and all debris was removed. I couldn't ask for better service! The final cost came to $225.00 with the coupon and since I couldn't be home to pay when the job was completed Woodruff returned the next day to collect a check. I would highly recommend Woodruff Tree Service.

They did a great job. The crew arrived on time. They were very nice, helpful, and an overall pleasure to work with. Also, I think the price was incredibly reasonable. In fact, it was much better than what I expected.

Steve and the crew were professional, did a great job and were on time. Also, Steve returned phone calls, punctual and just an overall pleasure to work. I would definitely use these guys again.

Based on all of the positive feedback from Angieslist, I decided to try them for the small job, assuming that if it was done well, then the price on the larger job would be justified. I scheduled them to do the job on Saturday, August 27 at 9:30AM. I did it at this time because I felt that I needed to be there in case they had any questions or concerns. At 10AM on August 27th, I called Woodruff to make sure that they were still coming, but there was a scheduling mistake. Mike Woodruff apologized for the scheduling mistake. He was promised me that if given the opportunity, he would make it right and offered to lower the price if I gave him the opprortunity. I couldn't wait on the small job. Because of the positive feedback I had seen on Angieslist, I decided to give them another opportunity. I schedule them to do the big job of taking down the 60 year old maple in the back yard. On October 8th, Mike and his crew cam out to remove the tree. Theye were on time. They were careful. Despite the fact that the tree hung over my house, they made sure to keep the house safe. They did such a good job that my neighbor hired them to take down his tree the same day after they were done with mine. I would definitely hire Woodruff again. They did an excellent job.

Given the difficulty , they did a fine job. One of the trees was fairly large and close to my house. They had to take it down in a narrow space so that it would not fall on my house or neighbors house or damage any of the other trees and plants in my yard or neighbors yard. This was the same case for a large limb they took off another tree. They used ropes so that they could direct the falling of the tree and limbs into a specific area. It was quite scary to watch since if it were to fall on the house it would have been quite damaging. However they were fairly accurate in directing the fall to a specific area. They brought a crew of 5 or 6 people so they were able to complete in about 2 to 2.5 hours. Did a decent job of cleanup afterwards. I also thought the price was reasonable given the difficulty and compared to other quotes I had.

Due to another job on the previous day that took longer than they expected, my job had to be rescheduled for the next day. From my vantage point this was not a major issue since they promptly rescheduled my service and did a credible job. Overall I am quite satisfied with the service I received.

The tree company came out on time for the estimate. I walked the property with Steve and he marked the trees that we discussed removing. He gave me the estimate on the spot. The estimate was reasonable at $400 for the entire project ($600 - $200 Angie's List deal). They were able to come out the next day to do the work and I was really happy about that. After discussing the project with my husband, he decided he want another tree cut down. When the team arrived the next day, I mentioned it to Steve. He came back with an estimate of $400 for the one tree. Granted it was a little larger than the other trees we had discussed but I didn't see how the price to cut down one tree could cost as much as cutting down 11 other trees. I told him that price was too much so he discussed it with his tree climber and they came down to $200. It only took them 1/2 hour to cut down the last tree. So, I didn't understand why the original high estimate of $400. Anyway, the trees are gone and we are ready to plant grass now so we are happy with the results!

Aside from a hiccup on date of service, it went very well. We were scheduled for the following week from date of estimate, but they did tell us we were the last job of the day when scheduling and something might come up. Stephen called us the day and time they were scheduled to let us know the job before ours turned out to be a bit more than planned and to reschedule for later in the week. They arrived right on time for the rescheduled day. It was Stephen plus a team of three. They let us know they would cut around the power lines, but to get too close or to remove more limbs would result in a bad canopy, poor look and possibly damage the tree's health. I appreciated their advice and trusted them to do what was best for the tree for the price quoted. The job took less than two hours. The price was exactly as quoted. They cleaned up, and had a chipper on site so no leftover debris to bother our neighbors. The result is great. It is a bit shocking to see an overgrown tree get a haircut, but overall it looks really good and as natural as possible for the amount of trimming done. We still have an ample amount of shade which is part of why we love the tree. The tree probably won't need to have any more trimming for six or more years, which is great for our pocketbook too. I would highly recommend Woodruff to anyone who needs a tree service.

Went great. Michael came to the house to go over the work. He completed the work. I left him a check for the second job. I wasn't home and trusted him to take care of it and he did.
