Did not meet committed date due to wind storms the day before. Much understood as I was using a special and allot of trees were down around the county. Good job...Tks

I had an unsatisfying and frustrating experience with Woodruff Tree Service. They did not do what they said they would do and did not even have the professional courtesy to call me back. .I did find another Angies List company that was very professional and did the work for me.

The crew did exactly what I expected after meeting with their rep. I had purchased a Deal for trimming and was pleased with the overall price. I will hae them back in a couple of years when my other tree needs trimming.

The workers did a quick and effective job of shaping up our trees. I gave a "B" for quality because the schubert cherry was done well but the Japanese maple could have been finessed. Not bad but not as good as when an arborist shaped it. I also gave a "B" for professionalism because the guy who came out to give the estimate knew little about the various trees in our yard. I had to tell him what each tree was. The guys who came and did the work, though, knew what they were doing. This was a year ago and maybe someone else is doing the estimates. I would still hire them.

The men were knowledgeable, careful and courteous. I was concerned about the Japanese Maple since this species tends to be very sensitive to trimming. One man did the trimming and took time to study the tree's shape and how to best preserve the tree's open character. He told me what he planned to do and asked if I had an questions or concerns before he started his work. The large Box Elder had sustained some storm damage and needed dead wood removed. Again the men asked what I wanted to have done and told me how they planned to work in the tree. After the work had been completed the entire crew worked to clean the debris from the lawn, the driveway and the street in front of the house. I was very pleased not only with the work itself but with the character of the men who did the work. They were conscientious and professional at all times.

I purchased a coupon for $200 worth of work for $120 in October 4, 2012. It took awhile for Michael to come out to look at the job and to give me a quote on an additional $100 worth of work because he did not show up when he said he would and we had to reschedule. After giving me a quote for the job, Michael said they would be out in about 2 weeks. When they did not show up, I called and was told that they would be out the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. They did not show up so I waited a couple of weeks and called again. I left a message asking them to let me know when they would be out. They did not return my call so, after giving them the benefit of the doubt and more time, I called Angie's list on December 14, 2012 and requested a refund. I used Woodruff Tree Service once before, was really happy with the job they did. Subsequently, I gave them a glowing review. However, after this most recent experience, I will not call them again. If someone had just called and explained why they could not do the job in a timely fashion I would have been patient and waited until spring if necessary to get the work done. Not being professional or considerate enough to make a 2 minute phone call to explain the circumstances is unacceptable.

They trimmed our tree, thinned it out and trimmed branches that were overhanging our neighbors driveway and our roof. I would hire them again. They cleaned up after themselves and hauled away all the debri.

great...could not remove all of it because it had grown into the fence. but they did what Mike told me they would do and cleaned up.

I cannot comment on their price or quality of their work which appears to be excellent based on prior reviews. In fact, I selected this Company from which to receive an estimate solely based on the consumer reviews provided on Angie's List. However, I can comment on their lack of professionalism in handling my estimate. Woodruff initially lived up to their positive reputation by responding quickly to my inquiry (within 24 hours) and scheduling an appointment for the following day. I was quite impressed. Unfortunately,my impression was changed to a negative one when they never showed up for our allotted appointment. There was no call from them telling me they were running late and, to my dismay, no follow-up call when I left a message for them asking if they were coming or if we needed to reschedule. I have waited several weeks to write this review to allow Woodruff sufficent time to follow-up but to no avail. I'm frankly astonished at this lack of professionalism, particularly from a Company with such a positive rating and a website that touts its customer service. I just don't have time in my busy schedule to take off work only to be jerked around by companies like this. I will not use nor recommend them in the future.

The overall experience was far more than satisfactory. I had some minor problems establishing initial company contact after purchasing the coupon, but no major inconvience. Woodruff came to my home to provide estimate of services and indicated that the coupon would fully cover the services I needed. I asked for a quote on additional service of removing some large limbs from a neighbor's tree that overhung my property and were shading my garden. Their estimate was reasonable for the work I wanted done. I consulted with my neighbor and we decided to split the cost. On the day Woodruff was to perform the service I noticed someone working in my neighbor's yard and investigated . They were removing branches that I did not request to be removed. I discovered that the workers wer not from Woodruff but that my neighbor had decided to have the entire tree removed by another company. Later when Woodruff's crew arrived they had no problem adjusting scope of service and reprice to originsl estimate. The service was to correctly remove the remnants of an earlier attempt to remove the stump of a large tree that had been cut down many years before I purchased the home. The original company did a poor job of removing the stump leaving a large mound containg many roots when they were done. Woodruff did an excellent job of removing the remnants creating a large pile of root and soil mixture which I had them move to a storage area in my lawn so I could use it as fill in a large landscape mound at the rear of my property and in low areas.The crew was quite cooperative and followed direstions well. They left the area where the stump was removed level with the surrounding area and tamped the dirt so it would not have settling problems in the future. I would recommend Woodruff without reservation. They are appropriately priced and perform professionally.

After the storms we experienced this summer that resulted in power outages and downed trees, i decided to remove a few trees that posed a danger to my house. After calling a number of companies with no response, Woodruff responded to my call and arrived to provide an estimate, Mr Woodruff even appeared in person. At first the estimate for 1300 for three trees felt a little high, so i attempted to find other offers. The other companies continued to be overwhelmed by the aftermath of the storm, and continued failing to respond to my calls. After i investigated further, i found that the price was fair compared to similar work done for other homeowners. I scheduled the work and they were prompt and professional. They cleaned up the brush as agreed and also cut me some "sitting stumps" for my firepit which i thought was a nice touch. If you want a prompt response from a company that will keep their appointments, go with Woodruff.

Mike called ahead to confirm his appointment and arrived early. Started up on the stump, while the rest of the crew gathered. I left at that point, but returned to find everything done well, cleaned up and beautiful! Would definitely use them again. Pleasant, professional and trustworthy!

Placed call for estimate, timely response. Scheduled work to be performed within the week. Job was completed in two days. Very impressed with Mike's crew. With two of the trees so close to my house and one under the power lines, I needed professionals. They cleaned up the yard as they finished. I will definitely use them again.

When Michael arrive and look around to evaluate all the job on my property...I provide him copy of the coupons that I bought for $99...and for $200 rebate from Angie's List. A very nice professional experience with Woodruff Tree Service..I expected to have to pay more!. Michael....did a fantastic job and exceeded my expectations......Thanks!

They were not able to get out to my house on a couple of occasions as promised. We had a bad wind storm during that time, so they serviced customers whose need was greater than mine. I had also used them the previous year, had no problems. They worked diligently and was very professional. Overall I would recommend them, and use their services again.

I ordered a special from Angie's list that made the job half price. The company was able to give me an appointment within a week or two of when I called. They arrived on time, were quite efficient and were receptive to removing a few minor things that weren't part of the original request. I was pleased and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

I purchased a Big Deal from Woodruff Tree. They came right out and did an estimate for removing a couple of stumps and one dying tree. They miscommunicated about the date at first, but then we rescheduled and they came on time. They did a good job of cutting the tree and the stumps and cleaned up after themselves.

They were very professional. They were very knowledgeable about trees. They consulted with us throughout the process and made sure we were happy with the result. They cleaned up really well.

The company removed two trees and one of the stumps. They came promptly and stayed within our price range. Good cleanup afterwards. Work was initiated after two trees, a crabapple and white pine, in our front yard died. We saw discounted deal via Angies list email. we contacted company and left message. They responded the next day. We discussed work and confirmed it could be done in the coupon range. They came within 48 hours and even called me at work to run a few questions by me. Very efficient and quick work.

The workers were a few minutes past they're quoted time but they had been busy with work after a large wind storm. They got right to work and worked dilligently the entire time. They regularly sought my feedback on how far back to trim the trees and were very careful with a stump right against our house. They cleaned up everything before they left and then did a walk around all the work to make certain I was satisfied. They were especially kind to my three year old son who was fascinated with their work--they even "paid" him a quarter when he helped them clean up branches and sawdust! Payment with a credit card was on the spot and easy. I would use this company again wihout a second thought. Offered us a return customer discount if we used them again.

Excellent. The entire service was covered by the deal. The proprietor came to our house in early June for an estimate, and did not require me to be there. We spoke over the phone and I arranged that he should remove the stump at his convenience. A bad storm took out trees all over the county in June, and his company was busy for a while with tree removals. In August sometime, he came out and ground down the stump (again, I did not need to be there). He did a great job, as the area is smooth and I could actually replant there now. I would highly recommend this company. The whole experience was convenient for me, and a great value!!

Bought Big Deal coupon from Angie's List. Called Woodruff to schedule site visit for estimate/definition of work needed. Received written estimate at end of site visit, but work was not scheduled then. Received call approximately 2 weeks later, and crew arrived within 45 minutes of call to perform work. Crew cut off dead limbs and removed small branches, leaving logs for fireplace as requested. Crew was off site within 2 hours. Due to hazardous nature of work, contractor should have provided copy of Worker's Comp insurance with estimate. They did provide copy at time of site visit.

The work was good. I was not pleased with the responsiveness on it. I would call him and he wouldn't call me back. It would be a long time between calls. It shouldn't take a week to hear back from somebody. They were supposed to come one day, we stayed home all day and they never showed up. It was about a week before he called back and wanted to reschedule. It got done but as far as them being responsive to your calls, it was not good. I don't think I would use them again because of that.
