Woodruff Tree Service

Took a few tries and weeks to finally get them to return my calls and set a date to dig/drill out tree stumps, using my Angie's List coupon. Showed up as finally scheduled. Alas, when my nursery tried to plant new trees, they found one of the stumps hadn't been fully sawed out. Had to get them to come back and drill deeper, which they did fairly promptly. All's well now.

Had little difficulty in arranging appt. missing phone calls each way...but when finally contacted & appt. made estimate given & I agreed they said service in 1-2weeks which I agreed was no problem for me. The next afternoon they showed up to do work because another cancellation made the time frame available...Work was done in timely manner, nothing damaged and clean up was excellent....Had them give me estimate for another tree that will need to be done in future and I will use them again when that time comes.

A recent storm forced a large limb down from one of the trees in my front yard and this prompted me to contact Woodruff for service to ensure that anything else that was in danger of falling could be safely removed. I called Woodruff and requested an estimate; when I arrived home from work that evening, a written estimate was in my mailbox and the cost appeared reasonable. Upon calling to schedule an appointment, I was given a two day window during which the work would be performed should the weather permit it. The first day came and went without hearing from Woodruff, but they did arrive and complete the work on the second day as promised. The amount charged for the work exactly matched the estimate; the most difficult aspect of all of this was getting in touch with someone to pay the bill, so overall, I have to consider it a positive experience.

We called, they came, and promptly took care of thee situation.

The were professional and good. They had insurance so I was happy.

I called at lunchtime and had an estimate in 15 minutes. Even with the cold, wet weather, the service was performed within a week. Two trees were completely removed and all the landscaping was returned to it's proper place. I couldn't have asked for better price and service.

I did not receive a call when they were coming to do the work. I happened to be home on 3/1 when Woodruff arrived at my home at 1:05pm. They trimmed out the dead wood, branches growing in the wrong direction, limbs hanging over the street. some of the work was done from the ground and some of the work required one of them to climb into the tree. The work was completed as described on the quote. Start to finish 35 minutes. I am giving Woodruff a negative review for these reasons: NO ONE HAD ANY SAFETY EQUIPMENT ON! NO HARD HATS and NO SAFETY VESTS. No one ever called to say they were coming to do the work, or at this point that have been here and the work is complete. I expect any service provider to communicate as needed and promised.

It took a couple of hours for the entire job. The initial consultation took 15 minutes, but they scheduled a time and showed up, took care of everything.

We purchased the Angies Deal in the fall but waited until the leaves were off the trees to call Woodruff Tree Service. After a little phone tag we scheduled a time for the assessment and estimate. Mr Woodruff (Mike?) was very professional but friendly. He looked at the broken branches that needed to be removed and also suggested additional branches and trimming. His quote was reasonable and we decided to go for the additional work beyond what was covered by the deal. We scheduled the work to be done about a week after the initial visit. They arrived early, which was fine with us, and went to work. Mike supervised the work and pitched in himself. The crew consisted of 5 men, one who handled the chain saw up in the trees and the others to assist with the ropes and to take away the branches. They brought three trucks, one with the grinder, one with additional equipment, and a pickup. Watching them work it was apparent that they were experienced in tree service. They wasted no time and cleaned up the yard well. We are pleased with the work they did.

It went great. They showed up, did the work in a timely fashion and cleaned up after themselves.

We removed several trees from our property and requested a quote to have the stumps removed. Because we had a favorable impression when we received the quote, we requested additional service to cut a large section from a damaged tree. The crew responded promptly with expertise and appropriate equipment. They were courteous and helpful-cleaning up as they worked. I ws highly pleased and am contacting them again for additional work.

They do a really good job. They didn't hurt my gutters. They picked everything up and picked up as much saw dust as they possibly could. They did good maintenance after the work. They came on time and did it, got out of my yard right away.

Terrible... After this and another bad Big Deal experience I am thinking I will not buy any more.

Woodruff did an excellent job for us. They showed up on time and were very courteous and professional. They made quick work of the job and removed all the debris afterward. We would definitely use them in the future.

I dealt with Mike, who was very good. He seemed to be very knowledgeable. I liked the work that they did and they really did a good job trimming the trees. It was a very busy time for them; I think they had a lot of work to do and it took them may be three weeks to actually get the job done once I contracted with them but once they did, it was very good. They were very available and it was easy to get a hold of them. If we can't get a hold of them, then leave a message. Mike got back with me promptly. The biggest downside was that they were so busy that we don't want to enter into a contact with them and it took like three weeks to actually get the job done. They did a very good job.

Came out and gave me an estimate. Everything done as quoted. Great job.

Courteus workers, finished job quickly, cleaned up mess, couldn't have asked for better service.

I obtained a coupon from Angie's List. Almost immediately Woodruff contacted me on the services they provided and optional work they can and do perform. They were able to make an appointment at that time to come out and discuss the work I wanted done. They were prompt and went over their services and saw what I wanted done. They said they could do it right then and there since they had a crew with them. They went to work immediately and were done quickly trimming trees. They left absolutely no mess and detailed what they had done and if I had any questions. They were polite and courteous.

Couldn't even get an estimate

They did a good job. They cleaned up well. They were very professional.

After speaking to Mike about possibly having three trees (about 30' in height each) pruned in my front yard, he said he would visit the house that week and give me an estimate. A couple of days later he called me and indicated that two of the trees did not need any thinning out at this time, which is what I kind of thought was the case. The other tree, a 30 year old crab apple, could be pruned for about $200. This was a reasonable quote but made even better by the current AngieList promotion that Woddruff had been offering. When I returned home the tree was pruned very professionally. The tree retained its beautiful shape but would be less likely to be damaged by any future storms. In the yard there was no trace of the branch cuttings and the plantings surrounding the tree were not damaged. Overall a very satisfying experience.

We had a rotting tree that was beginning to lean on our house and Woodruff fit us in right away. They were prompt and professional. They cleaned up all the branches and debris and ground the stump--it was as if the tree was never there. Final cost=estimate. Overall, very satisfied. There was a bad wind storm just days later so we were especially grateful they made room for us in the their schedule.

We have a wooded lot that had a number of diseased ash trees. We received an estimate in early summer for the pruning of seven ornamental trees, the removal of two small fir trees, and the removal of several of the diseased trees, including a very, very large Ash tree. The crew was punctual and very efficient. We appreciated their attention to detail, especially the care with which they cleaned our and our neighbor's yard of debris. We thought the final cost was very reasonable for the amount and quality of the work.
