Woodruff Tree Service

Bought a big deal and applied it to the removal of a tall pine tree, total cost was about 450 which included cutting the stump low to the ground, cutting the main trunk into firewood lengths and stacking it (we will split it ourselves). They were prompt and courteous, scheduling the appt took a little bit to accomplish but that is probably ccommon with all the big deal providers. overall a great experience! I will have them back in the fall to take out three more trees.

I last used their service last March and this is the second time we used them. We had them remove a tree and ground the stump. They’re wonderful. They did a good job and cleaned up by themselves they came on time and they did what they said they were gonna do with no surprises.

I was very disappointed. They cancelled at least four times, and of those they didn't even show up twice with no contact. One of their employees was having family related issues, which as a business owner myself I can understand. But you still don't let someone sit home all day to wait around. Have another employee call us or something, instead of just being unresponsive! When they finally did show up, they did what they said they were going to do and they did a little bit of additional work to make it up but overall it just takes away from their credibility when they can't reach out and let me know what's going on. As I mentioned, we hired another company who was incredible and made it out to my yard before Woodruff was ever able to make one of their many appointments they planned and cancelled with me.

After buying a "big deal" for woodruff tree service on Angie's list, I contacted them. It took a few days for them to get back to me, but they were able to come out within a few days to give me an estimate. The owner came out and was very professional. We discussed my tree, which was dead at the top, but still alive further down. We agreed on a place to take the top off. This was the week before Memorial Day and we were having my son's birthday party in the yard on June 1st. He said that they would be out within the next 3 or 4 days to do the work so it would be done for the party. After a week I had not heard from them and the work had not been done. On Thursday the 30, I began calling and leaving messages, as the party was 2 days away. Still no response. I started calling again on Friday the 31st at 7:00 am. Later that morning the owner called and said that they would be out that day to get the work done. The team of 4 or arrived by 11:00 am and we're done by 1:00 pm. They cut down the top half of the tree where we had decided. The cut up the tree and stacked our wood along a back fence. They even took care of the animals that came down with the tree, placing the displaced live baby squirrels in a box and taking them away. While there,they trimmed the lower branches of the tree along with another tree on our property. They cleaned up all the debris and took it away.

I have called them several times and they have never called me back to schedule service.

It was a big deal purchase I made. It worked out all right. I called them a few times to schedule the appointment but they didn't return my calls, I happened to pick out to schedule the appointment and then they came within half an hour that day to actually trim the trees. They never got back to me, I called and asked if they could come in half an hour. They were supposed to come on December 7th and they didn't, it happened to be raining that day but I didn't get a call or anything from them, they just didn't show up. They actually did come out and give an estimate for doing a different work and they returned the call and then they only did the trimming of the 2 trees that we were mainly interested in and that had been estimated at $99. They were good on price. It depends on the service if we're going to use them again. We'll probably use other tree providers that we've gotten through Angie's List in the future. If we just have small things that needed to be taken down, we will use them but I won't have them for major tree service.

I called (5) times and emailed to schedule the job. After the 5th call, I reached him and he said he was on vacation. He then scheduled the appointment and never showed and missed the second appointment as well, leading me to cancel the deal.

They did a great job chopping the tree but they were hard to get in touch with, we played phone tag. Communication is not their strong suit.

I bought this big deal on-line to have a big pine tree propped up that was listing. I called woodruff at least 5 times in the first week. I after almost 2 weeks I have NEVER got a call back or any response what so ever. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE

They were prompt. They came out and went over everything with me in detail beforehand. It was freezing cold when they came out, but they did a great job.

The only reason was a B rather than A was over ability to schedule. Came out fairly quick to give estimate. However when I tried to reach him back left three voice mails over a month before ever getting a call back. Once we actually spoke we were able to get this done. No issue with quality of the work. Would consider them again. Unsure why so hard to reach but pricing and work was fine.

They promptly came out for estimate with first call and came to remove tree within a few days of my approval of their estimate. They removed the tree, ground out the stump and removed all debris. Very professional and accommodating. When try we're finished with the tree I had a few bushes that thy also removed that were not part of the original estimate. They were friendly, professional and very easy to work with.

He was very nice and came out the very next day after my call. He gave us a reasonable price. Angie's List was running a special which we accepted so we got $80 off, which was really cool. His name was Mike and we were very impressed with his professionalism.

The effort was delayed a day due to rain. They showed up the next day two hours after they would normally have started and declared that the ground was dry enough. I thought they knew what they were doing. In retrospect, the ground was to soft wot handle their heavy equipment and left permanent damage to my lawn. They did and acceptable job at clearing the path for the fence and removing the dead trees, but cleaning out the under brush was left undone. I'm pretty sure the latter effort was effected by the late arrival and running into the dinner time for the crew. The sales person said that he would get all we talked about completed, but wrote a very generally worded contract. Word to the wise, if you use this contractor, be prepared to micromanage the job.

There was no mess and they did exactly what I asked them to.

The original estimate was $1400, including stump and removal. However, when they came to do the removal, they said the estimate was given on the wrong tree, and that the tree we needed removed was actually going to be $2500. We found it hard to believe, given that he talked to use during the inspection and the one we need removed is clearly half dead where the other one is clearly not. not sure why he'd give us an estimate on the least sick tree. We've moved on to other companies.

They did a great job and a great cleanup job as well.

We were very impressed with the quick response and service from Woodruff. We left a message on their voice mail on Friday and they called back the next day. The tree was removed and everything left in pristine order on Monday. Their price was very reasonable by comparison with others. We will definitely be calling them in the future.

We purchased a coupon for their service via Angie's list. We elected to wait until early spring to have work done, and then it took nearly a month from first contact to have the work actually done. There were significant issues getting any kind of response from the sales rep or the owner(presumably) Once those issues were ironed out, the work was done quickly and professionally. Minimal clean up was required on my part after the work was done. They also were sure to honor my by then expired coupon. I would use this service again, but I would take into account the difficulty getting the ball rolling.

They all are looking good this Spring. One had not bloomed for several years before trimming. Very pleased with how they look. Just had them out 5/18/13 to remove two trees and trim three others. Again pleased with the result. Woodruff will get all our tree business in the future.

Went great and due to the Emerald Ash Bore, I'm going to be a repeat customer here in the next few weeks.

They arrived on time but their chipper broke. The owner then went searching for parts. In the meantime, the guys starting cutting the branches. They allowed the branches to fall where they may. A few of the larger ones actually broke a statue in my garden and smaller ones were allowed to fall into my small decorative tree. The yard was a mess. They cleaned up most of the mess but I had to finish the job. I didn't like the mess they left or made and they didn't take off enough of the deadwood. I would probably use someone else next time.

They were fabulous, fast, friendly, and very curteous.

I wasn't there when Woodruff Tree Service came out to do the job. They came out twice to do the work and I have tenants at the house who said that there were still lose branches up the top that eventually came down. They did okay because they did respond but they had to come out twice.Their price was good.
