Woodruff Tree Service

Mike responded same day to my inquiry for an estimate, and was out the next day to meet with me. He was very thorough, listening to the issues I was trying to resolve, making suggestions on where and how much to thin, and was very detailed in explaining their process. The dead trees were all amidst many living, healthy ones (we are on a heavily wooded lot), so it was important to hear how they avoid any collateral damage to both structures and trees. When they did the work, the crew was all very professional, and made sure to treat my recently updated landscaping with extreme care. Mike made sure, as the work progressed, to get my feedback and make sure I was happy. We changed some things on the fly, but he kept everything at the quoted price. The crew cut the trees into 18" lengths, collected all the pieces and stacked them in a single location for easy splitting. All brush and clippings were shredded, and at my request, they dumped the whole load on my driveway so I could use it as natural ground cover around my fire pit. Other than the unavoidable tramping down of some of the natural greenery, they were meticulous in avoiding any damage, and they cleaned up so well that you would never know they had been here. While Woodruff was not the least expensive quote I got, the manner in which they worked, and the end result, were worth the difference. I will absolutely use them again.

They are awesome. I have had them for years and they are wonderful. They did a great job. I used them two years ago before I purchased a big deal. I looked them on Angie’s List and they had a great rating and these guys in the rain, came out and took a dead tree in my yard, a big tree that was taller than the house and chopped it into little pieces and chipped it all up in like half hour. It was impressive. They cleaned everything up. They did an awesome job, so every time we see a big deal for them, we get it. If you hire them, you can expect an absolutely pristine work. They are very professional, they do what they say they are going to do and they clean up beautifully after themselves and they are very, very quick. My grandkids stood out in the front yard and just watched them with their jaws open, this tree coming down and disappearing.

Within 24 hours of my first call, Mike and his crew were out on a Sunday afternoon and cleaned up all the broken branches, took down the rest of the tree, ground the stump and also trimmed another tree and some shrubs around the front of my house. Everything was cleaned up nicely. I was very impressed with the fast, professional service and the price was more than fair. I had another tree service trim 2 trees earlier in the year and they charged as much as Mike did for a lot less work, which is why I chose not to use that company again. Mike was polite, professional and prompt in getting the job done. He called and kept me informed when he was on the way for the estimate and again when his crew was on the way to do the job, which I greatly appreciated. I would definitely use Mike again for any tree or trimming needs.

Mike returned my call and set up an appointment for Thursday, August 21. He was going to call prior to coming over so I could work until he came. He said he'd be at my house around lunch time. He never called. He never showed up. He has not returned any of my subsequent calls.

Mike and his crew removed a tall pear tree (approx. 30 ft.) situated between our house and our neighbor's house. It was a very close area in which to work and the Woodruff crew did a wonderful job. Safety and professionalism are priorities for Woodruff. It was fascinating watching them work, as they were quick and efficient. The crew also removed a troublesome apple tree, did lower-branch pruning of a large ash, and pruned and trimmed pine trees and all the berry and ornamental bushes on the property. As the trees were cut, they wood chipped the branches and after that, ground the stumps. We are very happy with the result, and our yard looks so much better, ready for planting spring bulbs and for fall mulching. An excellent job. I would call Woodruff again for future work. Highly recommended.

After giving me a quote, I told him that I'd have him come out and do the job of cutting down a tree in my back yard in a week. He called me early and wanted to come out early and it was not convenient for me. He never returned my calls after that. He finally did call me back and wanted to do the job. I told him on 8/4 that he could come out on 8/7 or 8/9 and to call me back with a date. He never called. I went through this exercise with him twice.

They were very professional. They did the work and they did it really quickly. A for everything.

Consultation went wonderfully - we asked for a tree to be pruned in the front yard and Michael advised us on how/why they would do this to avoid a large gap in the tree. After seeing the results he was exactly right!!! He was patient and knowledgeable and I was very comfortable agreeing on service. The crew showed up on time and were very friendly. I am embarrassed to say that I forgot to move my son's toys out of the yard - they never said a word, just moved them so that they wouldn't be damaged. The tree in the back yard was hanging over the power line and they took it out without a hitch. Once they were done, they came to the door to ask that I come out to take a look at the work. I found every person that I encountered to be friendly and forthcoming. We asked to keep the wood - all of the logs had been neatly stacked off to the side of the yard. The rest of the yard didn't look as if anything had happened - no stray branches, nothing. It was immaculate. I signed the paperwork and the crew left. When my husband got home he went out back to take a look - he found that two of my son's construction toys had been placed on the pile of wood chips from the stump as if they'd been working on a construction site. My son was delighted!!! I know it's a small thing but it topped off the entire experience for me - these are people who care about their work and take pride in the results. There are plenty of tree service companies out there but Woodruff is the only company that I'll call in the future. I am thrilled with the results and grateful for their attention to detail. This was a great experience. Mike was quick to return my call asking for an estimate and gave us a detailed estimate so we could decide what work we wanted to do this year, and what work we have done in the future. When I called back to set up the actual work date, again he got right back to me and the work was done the next day. The crew showed up on time with Mike this morning and we walked the yard again confirming what we wanted done before they started. Then, boom they got started and work they did! Actual cutting commenced around 9:45 and they were done by noon. And when I say done, I mean completely done. The guys had already cleaned up the branchedsand trunks, then raked the yard and you wouldn't have known they were here by the time they finished. Then Mike again had me come out and walk the yard to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. I cannot recommend Woodruff Tree Service highly enough. Great Job!

Service was performed well. Very Happy with this service.

I got a call yesterday about 1:00 from the company letting me know they were at my house with the estimate. The price was quite reasonable, and he said he was already working in the area and would be able to cut down the tree that afternoon! By the time I arrived home from work about 4:00, they had already cut down the tree and cleaned up all debris and were gone. I was very please with their work and the price and would definitely recommend them.

They never showed up or called me back.

Ok, for the price I don't think I got a good value. I could not tell what they trimmed up when they were complete.

I purchased an Angie's List deal with this company. I called, left a message. I did not receive a call back (I waited almost 4 weeks). I called and left another message. I felt that they should have at least acknowledged my call and said they were busy rather than completely ignore my messages. I contacted Angie's List to get a refund. I did not use them.

Woodruff tree service was prompt and professional. The team arrived exactly when they said they would and began immediately. They seemed to work very efficiently and kept a clean worksite. All debris was removed (chipper onsite) and all stumps were ground with the wood chips removed to ground level. Upon seeing the work being done, some neighbors of ours also hired them to trim hedges and trees along their house and driveway. All in all, it was a great experience and we would definitely hire them again. :-)

They came out on a Sunday afternoon and in less than 2 hours had the large tree in the front and 8 in the back gone. Even the neighbors were impressed with how fast they were done and the great job they did cleaning up the street. This is the second time hiring them and I would do so again. Last time was 2 years prior to remove 11 ash trees, those were much larger and took a full day.

Woodruff never kept the appointment and therefore, did not provide any service.

They came for an estimate and we scheduled for the work to be done. They never called and they did not show up for the appointment time. I tried to call and I never heard from them after that.

They came out to give us a quote on tree service. They did not actually do any work. The quote was high so we went with another company. They were responsive and came as scheduled.

The tree was ground up into wood chips and hauled away. The tree stub was ground beneath the ground surface so new grass could be planted over the area. All debree was hauled away and they maticulously cleaned up after they completed their work. Woodruff returned my phone call for an estimate about two hours after I called them the same day. Michael Woodruff came out the same day I called and gave me an estimate. The estimate was fair for the work required and included Angie's discount. In addition since his work crew was in my neighborhood that day, he gave me an additional reduction in cost for scheduling the work while they were in the area that day. I was completely satisfied with their work and how throughly and quickly they completed the job ( about 2 hrs).

They trimmed the lower limbs on two pear trees in our front yard. We have tried to call Woodruff back this spring to have them come back and thin out the upper limbs on these trees but he ignores our phone calls. My wife called him twice and I called 5 times and left voice mail messages. He never calls back! We even tried to send him and e-mail via Angie's List and again received no response. I researched past Angie's List feedback and noted that 20% of his customers are not satisfied. Many of us have noted that he will not return phone calls. Woodruff states on their web site that they provide 100% customer satisfaction but this is not true. Bottom line is that we would never recommend this company. If you are happy with their service the first time then you are lucky. If you are an unsatisfied customer then you are stuck because calls will never get returned and your issues will never get resolved.
