Mr. Williams quote on a garage footer, block work, and floor. During the initial quote I requested 6 bag footer mix along with rebar for footer. Mr. Williams was reluctant to use rebar because he wanted to pour the footer 30 inches deep by 16 inches wide. He stated that block layers would not lay block in the footer hole, which would have been about 8 inches below grade after the footer. After getting 3 quotes, all stating 6 bag mix (4000PSI) for the footer, the footer was poured andthe quote was finalized with 6 bag for the footer and 6.5 bag mix (4500PSI) for the floor and I gave him 4500 dollars.
Construction began and Mr. Williams wanted to set the footer grade pins with a 4 foot box level for a 60 foot wall, 190 linear feet. I told him that was unacceptable and made him rent a transit, which he does not have, to do the job correctly. the concrete trucks came and Mr. Williams had to have the concrete truck dive in my yard, creating 4 inch divits in the yard because he did not have a a skid loader nor did he have a wheel barrel to move the concrete. He watered the concrete so much that, when poured, it traveled to three sides? footer without anyone even pushing it. He ran out of concrete half way through the footer and had to wait an hour for another truck to arrive. By then, the concrete became plastic and he placed the top rebar by hitting it in with a large hammer. He allowed the concrete to dry diagonally so much that you could stand on the first batch of concrete. He did not have a vibrator to activate the concrete against the second batch, nor did he square off the first batch.
I found out from the concrete driver that Mr. Williams used 5 bag mix (3000PSI) concrete for the footer. I called Mr. Williams and asked if he purposefully purchased the wrong concrete and he became irate and acted as if I messed up. He stated that he had made a mistake on all three quotes and what he used was correct. He stated that he would not be finishing the job or returning my money and would not answer any phone calls from me.
HE TOOK MY MONEY AND REFUSES TO FIX/ FINISH THE JOB/or GIVE A REFUND FOR THE SERVICES NOT RENDERED.
