Fence took about a day and a half to complete. While inspecting the fence after work I found about 8 nails that were sticking out on the inside of the fence. Also found one board that was not attached at all on the bottom. Found many boards to be unsatisfactory in quality. Russ and Mike Trudeau were very responsive and came out to remove the nails and change out a few boards. I still found the overall quality of the cedar to be poor. They eventually replaced just about every 4 foot board. Said the supplier had sent lesser quality than they expect from them. In the end the fence looks great. I am very appreciative that Mike and Russ never argued with me when I complained. They were very professional and I am only rating their Quality of Work lower because of the problems that should have been noticed by their installers. Or at the least, Russ should come out at the end of a job and do a quality control inspection. Otherwise, I believe that they will make it right if you are not happy.

The work was done swiftly and carefully. The estimator made an $800 error in the estimate. When I pointed this out, he split the difference. The final price was therefore above others' but the work was good.

Submitted initial request via web. Received email back then phone call. Ultimately, spoke to Mike and was advised that fence was in good shape and did not need work at this time. I appreciate the honesty and willingness for this company to come out even though there was no $$ involved. Will call them when I do finally need work on this fence.

Prompt, polite return calls; made more than one visit to establish estimate; materials took a few weeks to come in, but when they did, the work was done well by polite employees. Work was inspected by owners and they made sure I was completely satisfied with the job. Very professional!

No work was done, was just getting an estimate. Called the company and left message on what we were needing, single length of chain link fence 49 feet long, 6 feet high with a 4 foot gate in the middle. Left message about 11:00am. Was called back about four hours later and was advised would not give an estimate because they have a 200 foot minimum for jobs. This is not mentioned in their listing, if it was we would not have called them.

I will never use another fence company as long as I live in Columbus. Mike and Russ Trudeau run a great company, and have a great staff of workers. They started our job on time and finished in less than 2 days.

Representative, although they supposedly work frequently in my city, gave me incorrect info on where the city (Upper Arlington) would allow a fence on the corner lot. Fortunately we checked with the city ourselves. It did take longer than they said it would and there was poor communication (ie. No communication unless we called) about when the job would start. The fence, when done, does seem to be well-built and sturdy. However, it doesn't extend out as far from the house as we agreed on. What left a bad taste was that, after sitting on our 50% deposit for 2 months, they were calling my work # the day after the fence was completed to see 'how we wanted to take care of the bill' (we'd already sent the check). Also, their charge for 'hard-to-dig' holes was double the minimum that the contract specified. I might recommend getting a maximum charge for difficult holes specified in the contract, not just the minimum.

"UPPER ARLINGTON DOESN'T USUALLY LET YOU GO PAST THE BUILDING LINE BUT THEY DID IN THIS INSTANCE, PROBABLY BECAUSE OF THE 12'' HIGH BUSHES ON THE OUTSIDE OF FENCE. THE FOOTAGE ON THE CONTRACT AND THE DRAWING WERE THE SAME AND THE YARD WAS MARKED FOR THE FENCE LAYOUT THE WEEK BEFORE IT WAS INSTALLED AND THE DRAWING WITH THE FOOTAGE WAS SIGN BY THE CUSTOMER. OUR SUPPLIER DROPPED THE BALL ON THE MATERIAL DELIVERY, AND WE WERE ALL READY 4 WEEKS OUT AT THE TIME OF CONTRACT. THIS JOB WAS ONE OF THE HARDEST DIGS WE HAD ALL YEAR BECAUSE OF ALL THE SLATE ROCK. EVERY HOLE WE HAD TO JACKHAMMER. 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 THERE IS NO CHARGES FOR A FEW HARD DIGS, YOU HAVE TO EXPECT A FEW HARD DIGS BUT NOT EVERY HOLE. THAT'S WHY IT TOOK LONGER THAN THE NORMAL 1 TO 2 DAYS. WE'RE SORRY FOR THE DELAY AND FOR ANY LACK OF COMMUNICATION, BUT THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS!!!"

THEY WERE VERY PATIENT AS I CHANGED MY MIND NUMEROUS TIMES. THERE WERE SOME DISCREPANCIES WITH RESTRICTIONS THEY TOLD ME (FOR A CORNER LOT) AND WHAT THE CITY TOLD ME. THEY COMPLETED WORK IN A TIMELY MANNER. THEY WERE FAIRLY NEAT, SOME WORKERS LEFT CIGARETTE BUTTS IN MY YARD. THEY HAD TO COME BACK TO MOVE THE DIRT THEY HAD DUG UP FROM THE POSTS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT OUT IT WHERE I REQUESTED. THE FENCE LOOKS GREAT.

RESPONDED QUICKLY WHEN I CALLED AND ASKED FOR AN ESTIMATE. THE FENCE WAS COMPLETED QUICKLY. THE WORKERS WERE FRIENDLY, ACCOMMODATING, VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY DID A GREAT JOB KEEPING THE JOB SITE CLEAN, PICKED UP ALL THE SCRAP WOOD. THEY WORKED QUICKLY AND WERE VERY UNOBTRUSIVE, I BARELY KNEW THEY WERE THERE. THE FENCE LOOKS GREAT. THE WORK WAS WELL DONE. I WOULD USE TRUDEAU'S IN THE FUTURE.

MIKE RETURNED MY CALL PROMPTLY, AND WAS WILLING TO GIVE ME A BALL-PARK ESTIMATE OVER THE PHONE. PRICE WAS MORE THAN EXPECTED, BUT MUCH LOWER THAN OTHERS. THE FENCE ACTUALLY BELONGS TO MY NEIGHBOR WHO IS PLANNING TO MOVE, BUT HE WAS THINKING OF FIXING THINGS UP A BIT AND WILLING TO GO 50/50 SO THAT IT WOULD MATCH MY FENCE.

THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE WITH THEIR PROPOSAL AND GETTING THE WORK COMPLETED. WE DID HAVE SOME PROBLEMS WITH DAMAGED SHRUBS AND THE WORKERS NOT CLEANING UP AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETE. MR TRUDEAU INSPECTED THE DAMAGE AND DECREASED THE BALANCE DUE TO MAKE REPAIRS FOR THE DAMAGE. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS DAMAGE, THEY WERE VERY RECEPTIVE TO OUR CONCERNS AND ACTED UPON THEM QUICKLY.

AFTER BEING ON HOLD FOREVER, I WAS TOLD THAT THE MINIMUM CHARGE FOR A 6' PRIVACY FENCE WAS $2500. THIS WAS DESPITE THE FACT THAT OTHERS ON THIS SITE HAVE HAD PRIVACY FENCES INSTALLED FOR LESS BY THE SAME COMPANY. WHEN I INFORMED THE MAN ON THE PHONE OF THIS, HE HAD NO RESPONSE, AND JUST REITERATED HIS $2500 MINIMUM. IF THE COMPANY DID NOT WANT TO DO WORK IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, FINE, BUT DON'T DON'T LIE AND SAY THAT YOU DON'T TAKE JOBS AT LESS THAN $2500 WHEN YOU OBVIOUSLY DO.

IT WAS DIFFICULT EVEN GETTING AN ESTIMATE. WE HAD ARRANGED AN APPOINTMENT FOR 2:00. WHEN VERIFYING OUR APPOINTMENT THEY SAID THEY WERE BOOKED AND COULD DO IT AT 4:00. WE THEN GOT A VOICE MAIL THAT WE DID HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT 2:00. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP AT 2:00 OR 4:00.

WE RECEIVED FOUR TOTAL BIDS FOR THIS PROJECT AND TRUDEAU'S PRICING WAS COMPETITIVE WITH THE REST OF THE BIDS. THEY WERE VERY EASY TO WORK WITH. WE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL DELAYS (NOT DUE TO THEM) ON OUR END, AND THEY WERE ALWAYS PATIENT AND WILLING TO WORK WITH US THROUGH THE DELAYS. THEY COMPLETED ALL WORK IN A TIMELY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND THEIR WORK WAS ALWAYS VERY CLEAN. THEY LEFT NO MESSES BEHIND THEM. WE WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM IN THE FUTURE.
