Great. Worked with them before, and they are chimney company that one can trust.

I have been trying for over 2 weeks to get them to price my home for 2 gas inserts. They originally came out and cleaned my chimney's, which was a great experience. While there I got a general idea of what it would cost to convert my wood burning fireplaces into gas burning. When I called them back to actually move forward with the gas inserts, I could never reach a live person. All calls go directly to voicemail. Then when someone finally called me back over a week later and promised to get me pricing that day, I waited another week only to get a message from them again that the person pricing my service had been out of the office the whole week I waited. They assured me that they would get back to me yesterday or today with pricing. Guess what, no follow up. It has been a long time since I felt someone truly didn't want my business.

Called to make an appointment for an estimate but then the person never showed. I called and left a message asking where the estimator was and never heard back. I tried to call several more times and it went to voicemail every time. Very unprofessional.

Showed up on time and quickly after a call. Fixed everything, was in and out in 12 minutes. Was expensive but they disclosed the price in advance, just didn't know they would be done so fast

We purchased the chimney sweep and inspection special from D.M. Thompson Chimney Repair Specialist that was advertised through Angies List. The owner showed up on time and started to do the work after placing tarps around the chimney opening. He ran the brush in 4’ sections up the flu brushing up and down 4 times with each 4’ rod, may have taken 2 minutes as it is a 1 story chimney. When he was looking at the video of the flu, I saw a lot of debris still on the flue and I asked if that was as detailed as he was going to be with the flu cleaning and he said yes- that was a “chimney sweep”. I said I wasn’t satisfied with the effort but nothing more was done. He went on to say that we would need to burn chimney logs that would break down the buildup. He removed his equipment and tarps and brought back his written report which stated “glazed creosote build up on flue tile would require chemical treatment or wire whip to remove and regular sweeps.” I’m not sure what a wire whip is, but thought we were getting our chimney cleaned for the $206.00 that was spent. He also left soot on the floor after removing his tarps that I had to show him, he agreed to get the vac back out and clean up his debris on the carpet and wood floor. The Angies list special was to include: 1) INSPECTING THE FIREPLACE OPERATIONAL COMPNENTS AND THOROUGH SWEEPING OF ALL MAJOR PARTS SUCH AS THE FIREBOX, THROAT, SMOKE SHELF, SMOKE CHAMBER, AND FLUE WITH A WRITTEN CERTIFIED INSPECTION. 2) CHECK DAMPER OPERATION, CHIMNEY CROWN AND CHIMNEY CAP 3) BRUSH/CLEAN THE INTERIOR OF THE CHMNEY TO REMOVE BUILD UP. I don’t think a detailed inspection was done on anything but the flue tile and that was just a quick look with the video camera. I know for a fact that he didn’t get on the roof so no inspection was performed on the chimney crown and chimney cap and the interior chimney removal was not completed. In closing, I would not recommend this company as I feel they did not fulfill their contract. Grade: F

A crew of three workmen arrived on time and prepared to work. The supervisor went over the procedure on what was going to be done and took the time to answer my questions. The crew was very courteous and professional and kept me informed during the process. I was very pleased with the results and would highly recommend them for your chimney needs.

We had just moved into a new house and needed the chimney inspected and cleaned. We have used DM Thompson in the past for a leaky chimney and they were great. Service was punctual and efficient. Thanks for the good service.

I guess the price was in line with what I had been paying in the past. Quality – They were good. They were right on time. They were right there. They gave me peace of mind in making sure my chimney was safe.

Completely professional alternating teams. Exceeded expectations. Took care of my property as if it was their own. Have had other masons before DM Thompson and they weren't in the same league as this company. Do not hire anyone else but DM Thompson Chimney Repair Specialist!

Never received confirmation that it was done nor any information regarding any recommendations. I called three times and finally received an emailed copy of a generic report. It did not look like anyone had done anything to the chimney when I looked at it and the only observation on the report when I finally got it was that the Flue /Damper was heat damaged. I sent an email back asking for a quote to replace and never received another email back. I will not use them again.

maybe too thorough for us as the home seller. cost to install a stainless steel liner was an added $3200.00; however, they did an excellent job on the installation & clean up & added an access outside for ash clean up that looked as if it had always been there. No complaints on the quality of work performed.

When we noticed water damage on some of our walls, we called DM Thompson. Ten years ago, they made mortar repairs and sealed the brick on our 1931 brick house. The crew did an excellent job, as they did this time around. Highly recommend!

On the day that the job was to be done the workers came to start the repairs after they got on the roof they told me that they would not be able to do the job for the quoted price, they would be loosing money & the price for the job would be $2400 instead. I asked if when the estimate was done did the person get on the roof or just eye it from the ground ,I was told sometimes they get up there & sometimes they don't, but they could not honor the estimate. This feels like a bait & switch so they were asked to leave. Even if I have to spend 24 or 2600 they would not get 1 penny from me. That is quite a significant discrepancy in the estimate price, and terrible business practice.

Although the original date for the job was to be in May, the scheduler was able to get us in earlier. I was extremely pleased with the work that David and Bryan did. They were on time, organized, explained what they would do, neat and they cleaned up afterwards. Two days after the job, David sent me pictures of the before and after work so I could see close up what the situation was and the work they had done. I definitely would call on D.M. Thompson again. Their price was fair and the workmanship was excellent.

Called DM Thompson mid-week. They scheduled for 9a the following Monday. I asked if they could do it earlier; they called back later in the day and scheduled for 8a. Showed up at 8a on Monday. Polite, courteous, told me what he was going to do, went about doing it. I have a 20-foot pipe, and they did all of it from the inside of the home, never stepping foot on the roof, which is perfectly OK with me. He removed 6-10 lbs. of ash from the piping. Done by 8:45a. He even vacuumed out the inside of the fire box which is what I normally do every 3 weeks. His clean out of the box interior was not as thorough as mine, but I didn't expect him to do it at all, and he saved me an hour because I won't need to do that for another 3 weeks. I'm pretty happy about my experience.

The DM Thompson team were amazing. My chimney was damaged in a recent storm and this company got the job done in no time! In just a few days after contacting them, they gave the estimate and start date. On construction day they arrived in the morning and let me know about what they were doing, and of any changes in the project. By mid afternoon my chimney was rebuilt and the work was beautiful! If I need any more brick work done this will be the company I contact.

D M Thompson did everything right from the very start. They are easy to reach, they return phone calls in a reasonable amount of time, and they provide photo documentation of the work they do. They did exactly what they said they would do, on time, and for the price they quoted. I recommend them without any reservation.
