Dave, the technician was great. He came up with a great idea that would allow him replace the water heater without relocating the AC line which would have been much more expensive (no one else came up with this). I think the water heater was a bit overpriced ($1200) compared to other companies ($480) but that's not Dave's fault. The labor was also expensive but I expected that and his rates seems fair based on the amount of work needed. The job took 6 hours split over days. He worked from 4 - 11 (left for 2 hours) and one hour the next morning. Because of Dave, I would use them again but only if did not require me to purchase their expensive parts. Even my dogs liked Dave!
Description of Work: Replace the water heater in a tight small area.

The technician who tested & repaired my gas lines was very thorough and professional. He explained each step of the process and what exactly he was looking for. The leak he discovered was very small (he was surprised the gas company noticed it), and quite inconveniently located. Regardless, he was able to repair the issue quickly. After the repair he made sure that the gas lines held pressure as well as each appliance separately to ensure that the gas company wouldn't have to come back a third time. When the gas company came back out for attempt #2, there was a mixup in the notes and they somehow recorded the leak was "still not fixed". Waterworks sent someone out to confirm that there really wasn't a leak within an hour at no cost (which of course there wasn't). Mysteriously the third attempt by the gas company found no issue. I would happily call Waterworks again if I need any more work on my gas lines.
Description of Work: Performed a natural gas leak test and located a small leak near the furnace. Repaired the leak and re-tested the house lines, furnace and water heater.

I am very pleased with my experience with The Waterworks. We had them out to make four minor repairs, and they came out promptly, they repaired everything quickly, the repairman was extremely nice and I thought that the price was quite fair. I will use them again, should the need arise.

Very professional and very timely. Plumber handled his part and left promptly following repair but received a call within the hour from the restoration department for estimate. They came the next morning and estimate was reasonable so contractor was at the house by 12 noon that day to make repair in ceiling. Completed repair in a professional manner with no dust. They would have painted but I agreed to take care of that myself. I would hire them again.

They installed it and left. But today, only about 3 weeks later, the hot water handle is spinning, and its hard to turn off the water. I called and was told that even if they installed it wrong, I would still need to pay for then to come out and fix it. They wanted to blame the faucet, which has a lifetime guarantee. But they said that even if it wasn't the faucet, but instead was the installation, they still would not make it right. Sounds like a scam to me.
Description of Work: They installed a new faucet. The technicians were somewhat unfriendly, and tried to upsell me too much.

At 6:45 am the handle on my bathroom faucet came off in my hand when turning the water on to brush my teeth. This faucet has been needing to be replaced since we bought the house a year ago and that handle had always been leaky. We actually already had bought a new faucet and just hadn't gotten it replaced yet. However, it was kind of an emergency because there were no water shut off valves on that sink so we had to turn off the water to the whole house. I called around 7 and got an answer right away. The plumber (Daren) was at my house at 8:30. He was clean, professional and respectful. The bad news is, basically everything that could have went wrong with replacing a faucet did. The cold water pipe broke off in the wall when he was removing the water supply line and the sink had to be removed to replace the faucet because the nuts that held the sink in place were rusted shut (and had been in place since 1960) and wouldn't budge. He removed the sink, and cut off the nuts, and replaced the sink. The good news is, that Daren was prepared to deal with everything that came up and did so quickly and professionally. All and all the job got done in two hours even with all of the setbacks. The service, professionalism and quality of work were great. It's also very nice that they are available 24 hours a day. My only complaint is the price. Given the great service and quality their prices are reasonable, but they do charge quite a bit more than other companies. Just something to keep in mind. If your looking to pay for quality and service, totally worth it. If your looking for someone to do a job cheap they wouldn't be the right choice. All and all, I'll call them again if/when I need a plumber.

They called me with in one day to set up the appointment. They were running late and called to let me know. They were in constant communication with me. I had to get this work done with my refinance of my condo. I would not have had a good appraisal and i would have failed inspection. Had to cut the ceiling in basement to get to water feed. installed new t-fitting and copper pipes up to the fridge and another to the toilet with new shut off valves. Installed new flex line for fridge water feed. They did not cover up the drywall, but I have another project that will take care of this. This was done at my order, so i had no problem with this. I would say for the amount of work and supplies it was a bit expensive for my taste but with the bind i was in to be ready for the appraisal i took the plunge. I would use them again in the future, as he was quite knowledgeable and did the work he outlined. This is a follow up to the work done. I learned this week 2/16-2/17 that quite a bit of water had gotten into my quarter round and hardwood. The quarter round laminate coating has now separated from the wood itself, I will have to pull off that and replace it. I will also need to put my wet/dry shop vac under the floor to get all the water that remains. I will be in contact with them to let them know of this. I only noticed this because when i had the drywall replaced, you could see the dust getting wet on the quarter round and where the quarter round meets the hardwood. I put paper towel between the quarter round and hardwood thinking it was minor, and went through a lot of paper towels. I also saw the laminate coating pull off the quarter round. I thanked the drywall company for pointing this out. I still would use them in the future, attention to detail is key for me.

We used Waterworks in December 2014 to replace a wax ring in our second floor bathroom. After spending $200 to have it replaced. Exactly one year later, the leak returned and we were told it would cost another $200 for the same service we had done a year earlier because the warranty is only good for 90 days. It seems a bit worrisome that such a thing can be guaranteed for only 90 days when the first leak caused us to cut a hole in our ceiling, hire a mold removal professional, etc...

Waterworks has a new division which handled the installation of my replacement water heater - Comfortworks. The Comfortworks' website (www.thecomfortworks.com) takes you the Waterworks website. Our 16 year old water heater started leaking out of ever hole in the casing, even the screws holding the ventilation duct on top. Waterworks was willing to come out the evening I discovered the leaks if I wanted to pay the overtime for their technicians. That's more than reasonable in my opinion. However, I figured we could wait since they were willing to come out first thing the following morning for the regular price. So we were without hot water only during the sleeping hours. The two technicians showed up the next morning, accessed the situation. We discussed what size water heater I needed; we decided to keep the same size - 40 gallon. When they came back with the water heater, installation was quick. They even reused my drain pan that was under my old water heater AND ran a pipe to the nearest floor drain (which I didn't do thus resulting in a small puddle in my basement). The two people were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. I'm very picking about cleanliness and these guys passed with flying colors. We've been very pleased with this companies service each time we used them. Last time they came out to fix (replace) a leaking disposal that was 14 years old.

On Tuesday night we had a water main line break. After the city inspected it, and determined it was my problem, I called three plumbers for estimates. Waterworks was the first to arrive, first to send me the quote, most professional, most confident, and cheapest. Needless to say, it was an easy decision of who to hire. I accepted the quote Wednesday afternoon. Waterworks had the city mark the gas lines Thursday, and performed the job Friday. They started at 7:30, and were done by 1:30. The city inspector came out, approved their work, and asked them to anchor my supply line (after the meter) to get it to code. This was not at all their problem, but they did it anyway. They had to leave to obtain the parts, and they didn't charge me for the additional work. I can't say enough at how impressed I was with the salesman, Scott, or the three gentlemen that did the job (Lee, Chris, and Keenan). They were professional, friendly, wore booties to keep the dirt out of the house, and did a fine job. I will most definitely hire them for all future plumbing needs. My neighbors all plan to use Waterworks for their water supply issues. This was the most amazingly fast job, considering that I first contacted them at 9:30am on a Wednesday, and they were starting the work at 7:30am that Friday. Speed is important when water is pouring into the street, and the vibration sounds like a train running through your house. It's not fun to spend money on fixing problems like this, but they made the experience better. If you have a water main break (or any plumbing needs), this is the company to hire!

It's been nothing short of a nightmare. While the repairman they sent was truly wonderful in terms of working with me as an owner who lives in another city and I appreciated him respecting that I had a newborn baby and working with me to still communicate the issues he found, the repair went badly. It actually pains me to write a negative review because the original repairman was so kind and helpful over the phone, but this repair was a disaster. We discovered after the work was done that the PVC piping below the toilet was now slanted upward, thereby forcing wastewater to have to go up an incline to drain, which would inevitably lead to the water just sitting in a PVC elbow and eventually creating a new leak. We also learned that certain parts were not even allowed to be on the piping according to building codes - we don't understand how a plumbing company can do work on a house and ignore those glaring issues. We called them to fix it and they reduced the incline slightly, but did nothing else. I wound up paying another contractor to do the job the right way, so we could finally seal up the ceiling in the bathroom below the problem bathroom. I"m so upset. They charged me $600+ for a job that should have been much less and they did it wrong - leaving major issues that another contractor had to identify and repair. I will never use them again and I'm kicking myself for being so stupid to have used them in the first place. This was truly a nightmare.
Description of Work: I called them to repair a leak in a bathroom of a rental house I own. They tore open the ceiling in the bathroom below it, installed a new toilet and repaired some issues with the flanges.

We sent a technician out on 12/17/15 to look at the customers concerns. The technician made the proper changes to the property and the customer was ok with the work that was completed. We have not heard from the customers since our last visit, so we were not aware that the customer had to call another company out. The technicians paperwork was signed once the work was completed.

Was told would be re-imbursed for the $180.00. Still waiting to receive. Advised me that check was cut on the 23rd but does not know if it was mailed. Stated will check with their accounting, and re-issue if needed. Stated will personally deliver it. Still waiting on it after calling this morning, 1/4/16.
Description of Work: They worked on my baseboard electric heater. Two reps were working on it, in addition to the breaker system and thermostat. They told me that I needed a replacement thermostat and installed. Worked two hours then stopped. Waterworks rep determined it was the breaker and stated they do not work on that. Had to hire an electrician, who came out 12/9, installed a new breaker. This cost me an extra $127.00. Spoke with the customer service director at waterworks, who said they would reimburse me.

Last evening I called The Waterworks after finding backed up water in my basement. I have used them before and was very pleased with their work. The receptionist said they could send someone the next day 12-4 pm. I was fine with the time considering it is Christmas week and they may be busy. In the morning I got a phone call from the dispatcher informing me he could send a worker in 40 minutes! That was great. By now my house smelled like a sewage plant. And I'm happy someone could get here sooner. The tech was promptly here in 35 minutes. He actually remembered us from the last time which was two years ago. And we recognized him as well. He went straight to the source and found the culprit! The two trees in front of our home roots blocking the drain line. He augered the drain and little spiny roots came out. So relieved! And now we need to cut those trees down! The tech is excellent very courteous and clean and efficient. It was so nice to see he is working for the same company. That gives peace of mind, and for me says the company works to keep good employees. I recommend The Waterworks to Everyone. Don't call any old plumber. This company is the best. Thanks for saving my Hoilday!

At 7:00pm on a weekend, I was surprised to get an immediate answer to my phone call to The Waterworks about a leak in my basement. An employee walked me through what might be wrong. She was upfront about a call out fee for the weekend. She called me back very soon to let me know when a technician would be there and steps I could take to try to stop the leak before he arrived. The leak did stop when I followed her advice. He came exactly when she said he would, and it took about an hour and a half from when I made the first call to when he arrived. The technician, Ryan, was quick to diagnose where the leak was by just asking me some questions. He made a small cut in the wall, took out the damaged pipe to show me what happened to it, then replaced the damaged pipe. He then checked to make sure everything was working as it should before heading out. It was all very quick.
Description of Work: Diagnosed a leak, and replaced a section of pipe.

Service provider chosen from daily AM radio commercials. Provider refuses to give any idea of cost on the phone; requested only what a service call may be. Cost is completely up to technician after assessing problem. A 4:00 - 6pm appt was set with a requested 45 minute call-ahead as I work 23 miles from home. Received a 25 minute call-ahead. When I arrived, the technician couldn't have behaved any more inconvenienced. He did not introduce himself, was short with communication, negated minor repair I'd already attempted with replacing flapper and didn't show an earnest interest in wanting my business. Proof of this? A $340+ estimate to do a 'major' overhaul which equaled replacing internal parts and the rubber seal between the tank and bowl the technician confirmed himself DID NOT HAVE A LEAK. Clearly, this technician doesn't appreciate consumer questions for clarity and could care less if his company got this job. He quickly wrote the estimate, placed it on a table and was out the door without a thank you for calling The Waterworks or asking for my business. Misdiagnosing, overpricing a job and disinterest on the part of an employee. Great way to represent a company and build its (and your personal) reputation and integrity. Oh.......Nick was the technician. I learned this from the written estimate. To The Waterworks: I see on Angie's List that you often respond to customer feedback. Please don't respond; it's too late. I provided ample time, before giving this written feedback, for you to follow up on the technician's estimate and ask for my business. To Angie's List members: If interested in company that properly serviced my problem, see my feedback for The Drain Doctor; service date of October 20, 2015. You won't be disappointed hiring Tommy.

We have used this company in the past. I can't speak to price, since I don't frequently need to call plumbers...but for the ease of scheduling, reliability of arrival time, and workmanship, the cost is more than fair. We actually needed Waterworks to come twice in the same week. First for a clogged kitchen drain second for a clogged master shower drain. I used the online scheduling system. So easy! You can select the date and time frame you wish a technician to come and then you receive a phone call during your work time that a specific technician (they give you their name) will be arriving at a more specific time. Both technicians I dealt with were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I was also impressed that they did not try to 'uncharge' an unnecessary service. For example, since I had two drain issues in one week I wondered if I should be proactive and have them snake the other upstairs drains as a preventative measure. I was reassured that that would be an unnecessary service since there are no problems such as slow running drains or the like. Now... I've heard you can find cheaper plumbers, but I will gladly pay for the ease of scheduling and the piece of mind that a trustworthy individual will be working in my home and doing a thorough job. Hopefully I won't have to call them soon, but I will call them again when needed.

They're a little pricey. I don't like the fact that they don't have a specific price. The price has been different mainly because of the different techs that come out. The more advanced the tech is, the more you're going to pay. There were times I had to pay for two different technicians because two of them came but the job only came for one. I don't have any issues with the type of work they do. They're pretty on time. They give me a thirty-minute phone call before they arrive. They could have more coupons and more deals.
Description of Work: I used The Waterworks. I had them out on different occasions to snake the main drain on different rental properties.

Response from The Waterworks
The Waterworks appreciates the time that you took to provide us with a review. The Waterworks does have standard menu book pricing that all of the technicians use. The prices vary from the job that is being completed such as a garbage disposal install would be a different price than installing a kitchen faucet, etc. If you could message me with your address I would be more than happy to look into this further for you because our technicians don't price any jobs by themselves and whether it is a technician or a supervisor you would still pay the same for the job that is being performed. I look forward to hearing from you.

Please use caution when using this company. They charged $275 installation fee for a sump pump that took 10 minutes to install. Turns out they loosened a pipe outside when cutting the old sump pump out and I didn't notice it until now because it was behind a bush. I called the company and expressed my concern. They said I was 15 days out of warranty and they would charge for somebody to come out and take a look. The best part of all, they couldn't give me a service charge price over the phone and told me I would have to pay whatever the plumber said on site. GOOD JOB WATER WORKS. YOU JUST LOST MY ENTIRE FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS CUSTOMERS.

Thank you for the time in providing your feedback for the service that was performed. I do apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. The Waterworks does guarantee their work and stands by that guarantee 100%. I have reviewed your service order and see that we did provide a 1 year warranty for the work that was performed. We would be more than happy to send a supervisor out to take a look at what happened in regards to the pipes and see how we could take care of the problem for you. Please let me know if you are interested.

Tech came out and determined main shutoff was inoperable, so he couldn't perform fix on faucet. We informed him that what he was calling the main shutoff was not in fact the shutoff, but it's the shutoff for our irrigation line. He insisted that did not make sense to be an irrigation line (even though it's where I turn on our sprinkler system each spring). We were asked to call the water dept. to have the water shut off at the curb to install a new main. City shut off water, tech comes back to install new main. Installs new valve on irrigation line and turns it on. City turns on water with tech there but notes to him that the valve is on the incorrect line and will need to be placed where the main truly is. Tech, at that point, says he will return the next day to do so. When asked why he put it on the wrong line, he says it's because my hsband told him to do so, when he had not. My husband had authorized the use of a valve different than that currently on the line, not to have a redundant valve stop put on a line that had no issue. I return home several hours after the city has turned on the water to find water shooting out of the back flow valve of the irrigation line on the side of my home. Also of note, my irrigation line was already winterized (shut off) for the season. I turn off the water at the new valve (on irrigation line, not the main), and the water immediately stops coming out. At this point, I've paid for a repair that didn't need to happen, and now am out the additional water and irrigation winterization costs. I call Waterworks customer service and am told the work that was done was what we, the homeowner had authorized, and am also told nothing can be done to remedy the fact my irrigation will now have to be winterized again or the fact that several hours of water have been wasted that I will have to pay for. Beverly with customer service says the tech who came out will have to verify it was his mistake that caused these issues. However, the tech has said to her that has only done what we told him to do. The next day arrives, and I'm told someone will call before my noon appointment to ensure the correct work is completed. No call comes in. We call Waterworks to find our tech is no working today, even though he is the one who said he would be back at noon this day to fix it. After a bit of pushing to get some resolution, Waterworks sends out a different tech. They were reluctant to do so, even though I felt, at this point, the previous tech was not someone knowledgable enough to complete our service. Keith, the new tech, comes out and immediately recognizes the valve was placed on the irrigation line and not at the main. He works to place a new shutoff valve at the main. I call Beverly to touch base regarding payment, and receive no call back. Keith does not assess me a charge for the time he was at our home to repair the main valve. I have now left four different voicemails for Beverly over the course of more than a week to resolve payment for the service, as well as reimbursement for the costs I've now incurred as a result of the errors of the first tech. She has not returned my call, and Waterworks has cashed my check. I've previously had Waterworks come to my home on two other occasions, and had an A+ experience all around. It seems as though this tech and the customer service department are the weak links. I would not be posting this poor review if I could just get Beverly to call me back and address my concerns as she indicated she would when we first talked. In light of all this, I am now doing my own shower faucet repair.

The issues were not resolved from their first visit and I needed to get a new sink fixture. They had to come back on 2 following visits to finally solve the problems. Additionally I paid them with two checks. They lost both of them, so each time I had to repay.
Description of Work: They were supposed to stop 3 leaks.

He told me the previous plumber probably didn't know what he was talking about. Was supposed to be at my house between 12-4, showed up at 4:02
Description of Work: As part of my housing inspection in august I had my downspouts cameraed and we found a large clog the camera could not pass. I was able to water the camera in the many attempts. I called waterworks to get it jetted/ looked at. Chris arrived and ran down pricing, $289 for cabling, jetting $600. He recommended cabling. I agreed, signed and let he get started. He began when running water into the downspout drain, 5 minutes later he stopped and showed me a puddle in the front yard and told me to call the city, said they must not have cut a drain pipe when they poured my new curb a few weeks ago. I asked about the clog and he didn't have an answer could be tree roots. He recommended waiting for something to get bad then call. He said he wasn't going to charge me since he didn't have to do any cabling, then presented me with a bill for $149 for a service call. This we never explained as part of pricing. He then refused to take my Angie's list coupon stating present at time of service. I called the company, spoke with many rude people including management, gave up and counted it as a loss. I still have no idea if a have a functioning down spout. Very disappointed.
