Larry was easy to work with and very accessible. He ordered all the ceramic tile and installed according to our specifications with an excellent result. It was a relatively small project so he worked alone. He also looked at a couple of other issues and either competently fixed them or recommended another company as he saw fit. He very much stuck to the original estimate and timeline. We will definitely look to work with him for future home remodeling projects.

Shower drain was leaking, which prompted us to upgrade the entire shower and not just fix the leak. The company coordinated with our availability schedule and installed the new shower on schedule.

Very quick to give estimate, did not provide a lot of detail on choices but was very prompt and courteous. Job started on time, workers were very nice. Work was done on time. Added one small cost at end which was not expected - trim on floor (which I thought would be included) was "extra". Door is very nice and deck is very nice as well. If I were to do it again, would ask more questions. Over all, nice job - appreciated prompt service. I was so happy to have the work done that I probably did not ask as many questions as I should. So - I would insist on more detailed plans in the future, but basically the work proceeded on time and within budget. Good quality work.

THe project went smoothly. I was also glad that a friend allowed me to stay in his house nearby to escape the dust, noise, heat ( 95 defgrees on some days), and general overall confusion. My cats were certainly happy too!

I spoke with at least 6 contracts and initially Chuck Snyder, company owner, really impressed me. He was able to understand my ideas and get a correct read on the structural considerations, quickly. Rather than try to sell me on a open-your-wallet dream kitchen, he understood what was important to me and my budgetary constraints. After researching Chuck Snyder's credentials and reviews, I hired him. And, while have absolutely no doubt of his complete competency of his trade, there were some shortcomings on the business/supplier side that were discouraging. Mr. Snyder works through a specific individual at Palmer Donaven in Grove City. And as best and as generously as I can conclude, Mr. Snyder over estimates the effectiveness of that relationship. There was erroneous feedback to Mr. Snyder that I had approved things that I never saw. Getting layout information was difficult. I found myself repeatedly explaining to both Mr. Snyder and Palmer Donaven that dimensions were wrong. Cabinets and countertops had to be re-ordered because folks, repeatedly, could not get the measurements right. So, before Chuck Snyder raised a hammer, I was no longer impressed. I was worried. Thankfully, once underway, other aspects went better. Notably, I was very pleased that the more challenging dry-wall/soffet lines/structural entry way revisions were done beautifully. My take is that Chuck Snyder's strong suite is efficient demolition, general construction and structural/functional issues. There were aesthetics issues that were only reluctantly addressed, and some not at all. And when you are operating within a budget, that is probably just fine. My expectation is that Marburn company is a good choice for most room remodling projects. However, unless they use a different cabinet/countertop supplier, and develop and new attitude towards aesthetic details, I can not recommend them for kitchen remodels.
Response from The Marburn Co
"I have had a very successful working relationship with Palmer Donavin since before I started my company using the one person I refer all my clients to. My client in this case never in all the times she went to the showroom met with the lady I recommended she talk to but met with a number of different sales people who tried to covey all the changes my client wanted to the lady I thought she was working with. This caused much confusion throughout the project. Palmer Donavin has been a fantastic company to work with in all the projects we have done with them and stood behind all of their products. I regret that these situations occurred, however we did try to continue in a timely manner and give the client a very good product."

All aspects of the process were handled professionally. The bidding process was thorough: Chuck Snyder, company owner, visited 2 times to review program and provide a bid. He was open to our program requirements and budget. During the construction phase, there was some discovery of problems with existing plumbing systems. These were reviewed with us and resolved satisfactorily -- we're very glad they were proactive on this matter, as the plumbing works better than in the recent past. Marburn was sensitive to our aesthetic requests. They give me confidence that the project is well-managed and well built. Marburn is a 'Can-Do' operation. If there is a problem or request, they give it attention and provide alternate solutions. They know how to approach construction issues, and which subcontractors to contact. All of the subcontractors have been professional and timely -- including the plumber, HVAC contractor, electrician, drywaller, and painter.

Marburn is a top-notch company. They are trustworthy, responsive and do excellent work. The pipe and ceiling were fixed that day and the workers cleaned up after themselves beautifully.

They were excellent! The work was done quickly and to my specifications. They didn't do any demolition until they had all the proper materials, which was appreciated. Things were done very smoothly.

It turned out very well. The work they did was very good, in terms of quality. The final price was higher than the estimate, and things were added that were not in the contract. However, I was happy with their work overall and would use them again.
Response from The Marburn Co
"The deviation in cost was the result of the owner requesting additional work and material and the result of finding structural issues that had to be addressed before continuing with the project."

He fixed it very quickly. He got parts and came back and fixed it! Everyone that looked at it said they'd come back to fix it, but they never did and we never heard from them again! We will continue to use him in the future.

He talked about the different products and we made our own choice. He put them in in a very timely manner. I thought he was very reasonably priced. We would hire him again.
