Soots Me Chimney Co

They are my favorite company. I don't remember how much I spent on their services. It was probably less than a $100. I've used them over the years. I've used them almost every year for the last ten years. I will absolutely continue to use their services again in the future.

It took longer than we would have expected to get an estimate, but once we did, their estimate was lower than several others we had received. Maybe this is because they were trying to find brick to match our chimney before they estimated the job, I don't know for sure.

However, Chris, the young man who rebuilt our chimney and poured the new cap, was very artistic, detailed, thorough, and very perfectionistic about his work. You can tell that he takes great pride in what he does. Chris was very concerned that the bricks didn't exactly match our older bricks on the bottom (since he only rebuilt the top 15 or so courses) but we think the bricks match just fine. There is a very subtle difference which most people would never even notice. Chris even went to the extreme to suggest lightly spray painting a few bricks here and there to darken a few of them to match random darker bricks further down, but we decided this was not at all necessary.

Chris actually redesigned our chimney with an extra step-out, and it looks very nice; we have had several neighbors stop by to comment on how nice it looks. Chris also tuckpointed some other bricks on our house for no extra charge (other estimates we received had added an extra, not insignificant charge).

Chris cleaned up and stacked all the extra bricks for us. I was exceedingly impressed with how he did the entire rebuild from start to finish.

After the chimney and tuckpointing was completed, Steve, the owner, came to sweep the chimney. He did a great job.

I've been an Angie's List user for many years.... I DO READ .. all the reports and comments submitted by others about a company/service. In reading the reviews for Soots Me --- I was impressed and pleased by the reports of previous customers. I was concerned about who would do the work because this job involved safety and cleanliness (inside and out). Ever read something and think "too good to be true" ? I have..... but not in this case. I called to discuss what I wanted done (a MAJOR concern was I did not want to have the fireplace doors removed). Steve came out ... said the work could be done with the doors intact; gave me an estimate; came back the next week (at a time convenient for me) to do the work. Three hours later -- the work was complete. He was very conscientious about my carpet and fireplace hearth. I had NOTHING to clean up when he left. The price was very fair. I would use and recommend this company again.

They always do a super job and cleanup is spotless. I've used them for the past 6-7 years.

I found this company on this site and hoped that it was a good company based on the reviews from the people he did work for. Unfortunately for him I cannot leave a positive review since he obviously does not want the work.

I just love these guys and I trust them. They arrive on time. They are clean and do quality work. Very nice and friendly people that I plan to hire again and again.

I went great. Steve responded quickly to my original call, arrived as expected, did the work with NO dust or dirt, cleaned up after himself.

I chose Soots Me based upon Angie's List reports I had read. I did NOT, however, ask for estimates from the other companies, which both had a lower price.

Soots Me was great! He gave me so much information and was really good. He was really helpful, polite and careful.

I have use Soots Me in the past and this experience was just as good as the previous experience. I called to schedule an estimate and the estimate was completed within a few days. The work was then scheduled and completed within a few days. When the work was completed I received an email with the invoice. They were very professional and curteous.

The house we recently purchased was built in 1963 and has two fireplaces and a five-flue chimney. I knew we needed a new chimney cap and possibly a new chimney crown. I found Soots Me through Angies List. Steve arrived on time to inspect the chimney and provide a repair estimate. He explained that the chimney crown only needed sealing (not replacing) and took measurements for the new cap. About a week later, a colleague of his, Chris, applied sealant to the crown and two days later installed the new cap. Aside from the new cap, Chris left no sign of his presence. And he was very careful navigating his ladders through my wife's flower garden - she didn't notice the work had been done.

Both Steve and Chris are very personable and knowledgeable. I had to call three times to reach Steve, but once I did, everything went smoothly and I highly recommend them. As another Angie List review commented, these guys are craftsmen and not simply repair guys.

Everything went well considering that we had recently moved and were 4 hours away from the job site.

They didn't do anything because they told me that there was no need of cleaning the chimney. They were very honest in telling me that there was no need of the cleaning. I would rate them high overall. I would consider using them in the future if needed.

He was quick. The price was reasonable and he was very knowledgeable. I think I had him come in because I'd had rats in my chimney so he came and cleaned that out. He also gave some suggestions.

e matched the existing bricks with new as both chimneys needed to be extended higher. Additionally he cleared out some blockages in one chimney. His work looks excellent and has added value to my home not to mention peace of mind that my chimneys are not going to collapse. Highly Recommended!

Everything went well. The owner of the company cleans the chimney himself, and he is always pleasant and thorough.

Deciding to switch from gas logs back to wood burning in the fireplace we sorted back through repair work receipts from years back to find the same contractor that had capped the chimney years back. Soots Me had evaluated our chimney and fire place years ago and capped the chimney. We were very impressed with his professionalism and reasonable pricing. This time he came and did the work described above with the same professionalism and reasonable pricing we had experienced before. Well done Soot Me!

His name is Steve Guthrie. We've used him a couple of times. They were very responsive. They were less expensive by far. They didn't try to sell a bunch of extra services. They were very personable. They were no gimmicks and they didn't play around. We had one company tell us they needed to redo the chimney from the ground up.

Steve and his co-worker were the best! I could not believe how much soot came down our chimney and not a drop anywhere but in their vacuum. Steve was prompt, courteous and worked me into his schedule within days so it was done before Christmas. This was the first time it was cleaned in 10 years (gas logs for 7, wood for 3 yrs.) I didn't know who to call but Angie's List steered me in the right direction. We have a lot of wood and enjoy our fires, especially this cold winter. Steve is in my contact list to come back and keep our fires burning and our family safe. Thank you Steve.

They were able to repair a piece of the chimney that would have been expensive to replace. We were very happy with their work.
