Scheduled to arrive at 10:00 am to clean carpets in 4 rooms plus a hallway. Spoke with owner, Scott, to confirm price would be no more than online special price of $99. Scott confirmed this with knowledge that service would be performed in a townhouse with a carpeted stairway. Technician had not arrived by 11:10, so I called Scott to ask if they were still coming. Scott said they must be close, so we continued to wait. Five minutes later the tech called to say they were 10 miles away. Finally they arrived at 11:35 (1 hour & 35 minutes late.) The main technician had a black t-shirt on that read "ARE YOU MAD BRO?" on the front, which I feel was unprofessional. After a quick inspection, they said it would cost $109.95 due to the stairway. I told them I would call Scott to discuss the extra $10.00. Scott said that he would not lose the business over $10.00 & asked me to pass along the information to the techs, rather than call them himself. The techs were obviously upset & irritated that I called Scott so they called him to tell him that I was disrespectful to them. Two minutes later they peeled out of our parking lot, screeching their tires in the process. I called Scott to let him know they had just left, but had to leave a message. Scott did not call me back, so I called several times until he answered. He stated that his tech had left because I was disrepectful. I told him I had only passed along his instruction & that I was in no way disrepectful. I asked if he could have them come back & he said he would, but the price would be be $110.00. I reminded him that he agreed to do the job for $99, both on the original call & earlier when the techs were here. Scott rudely said he had changed his mind & that the price would be $110.00. He asked me what type of business I am in & asked if I would do work for free. I explained that if I were to quote someone a price, then try to charge extra, I would expect them to be upset. I told him there was no way I would have them come back to do the job for $110.00, then after arguing back & forth with Scott I decided to end the call.
