One of the owners actually spoke to me on the phone when I called to inquire about getting an estimate. He came to the site, about 40 minute drive from Columbus. He was on time and spent about an hour walking through the building and climbing into the attic to look at it. We talked about the limitation and potential advantages of the project. He discusses the environmental considerations and the possible active and passive energy saving design possibilities. He gave a ballpark estimate of what it would cost to do the plans and for the actual construction costs before we left the first day. He then followed up within a week with a written estimate of the initial plan design and consulting fee. We decided not to go forward with the project at this time because the overall project turned out to be more than we are able to commit to right now but if we decide to pursue the project in the future we would definitely consider using this company for the architectural design.
