RIDER BRICE ARCHITECTURE

I met with several architects for the project and I was very impressed with Nelson's ideas. I am writing this report a few years after the fact so my memories about time frame may not be quite accurate, but I don't remember any delays or excessive time. In fact, I think the turnaround time was quite quick- and I remember Nelson had several ideas to choose from. We chose his proposals and had him do the complete construction plans. We did not have the company do the building, however. We chose another contractor for that. Nelson followed up after the construction was done to take photos of the completed project. I am planning on contacting him again to draw plans for another addition soon.

Awful. Rider comes across as a charming individual, but even at the outset he was disorganized. He required a significant amount of money up front, and then requested draws and more draws that I eventually determined were well in excess of what was appropriate based on the work completed. He was inconsistent about paying subs, including for example he misled me repeatedly as to whether he had paid a vendor for $20k of new windows (that I had paid him for in advance). The vendor eventually got a mechanic's lien against my home. Eventually, Rider stopped work completely, and I had to finish the job with other contractors. I went to court and currently have a six-figure judgment against Rider, Nelson and their office manager Tara Hutto, which judgment remains unpaid. I understand that I was not the first to have a horrible experience with Rider. Check the BBB reviews as well. I hope my bad experience will at least save others from the same.

I THINK HE WAS VERY GOOD. WE HAD A LOT OF THE SAME IDEAS AND HE THOUGHT OF THINGS I DIDN'T, VERY HELPFUL. GETTING THE FINAL PLANS TOOK LONGER THAN WE EXPECTED, BUT THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD.
