Terrible. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Performed the work not covered under the warranty without calling me instead convincing my Mother-in-law to write a check for $700. Just the fact they didn't call the person who scheduled the service, and owns the house shows you how shadey they are. They didn't even give me or her a chance to call the warranty company to verify. By the time i had returned home from work the tech was long gone with my Mother-in-law's money.
6 months later, wouldn't you know it, the garage door is not working again. When I talked with another company to understand what could be the issue, they walked me through some questions and were able to determine that likely the springs were not balanced correctly from the beginning.
So it looks like we spend $700 for new springs from a company without the ability to install them correctly.
To top it off, we finally get around to calling them back today and my wife explains they installed the springs improperly and of course

I called them on Thursday to replace the springs on my garage door. There were there first thing Friday morning replaced the springs and oiled/serviced the door. Great to work with.

We called PAD on Friday and booked an appoint for Monday (today). They didn't give a window but said they would call before they came. They called in the morning and said they'd be here within 30mins. Larry was here on time. He inspected our door and hardware and recommended doing both springs. Due to finances, we are only able to do 1 spring at this time. He didn't pressure us or belittle us for not approving more work. He just did the work we needed and explained what he was doing. He also advised us how to maintain our system until we could afford to replace it (we have an old chain/cable system) and told us the different types of door openers on the market these days. I don't like not having a window for when to expect them, but I understand jobs can run long and unexpected problems happen. I do like that once they call, they were here shortly after.

He was great. The price might have been a little high but he was here for quite awhile and he did a lot of things so the price was probably fair. Everything is quiet now and I am confident that nothing is going to break. I have no complaints. He was skilled and I would absolutely use them again.

I was given Pad Door's name by HMS (home warranty service), whom I had called when our garage door stopped responding to the remote controller. I had guessed that the receiver was the problem. The mechanic showed me that one of the wires in the receiver had broken, from the vibration and juddering of the door opening. He also pointed out that one of the large springs which act to counterbalance the motor was broken, and also that neither spring had been oiled recently. (I had never noticed the springs before!) The work was not covered by warranty, as it was due to a defect in the door (broken spring). The mechanic suggested replacing the whole door (c. $1000) but also offered the minimum possible to get the door working again - about $300 ($100 for the receiver, and $200 for the spring). He was clearly expert on garage doors and I went with the basic repair.

HE DIDN'T COME WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD. HE TOOK MY LOCK APART TO INSTALL A GUARD AROUND IT AND THEN WHEN HE PUT IT BACK TOGETHER THE LOCK DIDN'T WORK, BUT HE DIDN'T BOTHER TO CHECK IT BEFORE LEAVING. ALL HE DID WAS COMPLAIN ABOUT HIS WORK, HE GRIPED THE WHOLE TIME HE WAS THERE. IT WAS A VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE. WE CAME BACK TO GET IN AND THE DOOR WOULDN'T WORK, IT SET THE ALARM OFF AND THE POLICE CAME, IT WAS NOT GOOD. WHEN HE CAME BACK TO CHECK IT OUT HE SAID THAT WE BROKE IT TRYING TO GET THE KEY IN, AND HE INSTALLED A DIFFERENT LOCK. SO NOW WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH TWO DIFFERENT KEYS. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.

THE APPT. WAS SCHEDULED BUT NO ONE SHOWED. I CALLED ONCE DURING THE TIME FRAME AND WAS TOLD HE WAS ON HIS WAY. I CALLED AGAIN AFTER THE TIME FRAME EXPIRED AND WAS TOLD HE WOULD NOT BE COMING BECAUSE THE TRUCK BROKE DOWN. I RESCHEDULED FOR THE FOLLOWING MORNING AT 8:30 AND THE TECHNICIAN DIDN'T SHOW UP UNTIL 9:20. WHEN HE ARRIVED, HE DID NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS FOR THE REPAIR. HE WAS GOING TO LEAVE AND COME BACK. THE COMPANY KNEW WHAT I NEEDED TO HAVE REPLACED. REPLACING GARAGE DOOR SPRINGS IS THE MOST COMMON SERVICE CALL THE COMPANY RECEIVES. I FOUND THE WHOLE SITUATION TO BE UNACCEPTABLE. FIRST, I WAIT ALL AFTERNOON WITH NO ONE SHOWING UP AND NO CALL TO EXPLAIN THE SITUATION. THE NEXT DAY HE IS LATE WITH NO CALL AND THEN CAN'T PERFORM THE REPAIR. I TOLD HIM TO LEAVE AND I WOULD FIND ANOTHER COMPANY TO REPAIR THE DOOR. I CALLED THE COMPANY AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE TECHNICIAN.
