M & I Landscapes

They came out and met with us, took our ideas, we gave them ours.  They took a ton of pictures and measurements and came back to us with plans, we made a few tweeks.  We set up and date and they came out.  They finished in one day, and it was so clean, it was like they were never there. 

Everything went very smoothly. Initially, in late March, Nicole, the landscape designer, gave me a complete plan for a small stone wall and new landscaping in the front of the house plus the additional bushes, topsoil, and reseeding of the backyard. She also included an estimate of the cost for the plants and for doing all of the work.  Nicole carefully selected plants that she thought would work well for my sunny frontyard and shady backyard. I liked her plan and decided to go with it. The actual work of removing my old overgrown plants in the frontyard, building the stone wall, and installing the new plants occurred on 5/9/2013. About four or five men worked on it all day and were able to complete the work in a day. All were polite and professional. John, the head of the landscaping crew, was very patient in answering my questions as the work was going on. The crew did a great job of working around the front yard plants that I was keeping without injuring them as they  removed the old overgrown plants and installed the stone wall, new plants, and mulch. They took away the old plants and did a very good job of cleaning up afterwards. The new landscaping looks great! The price was expensive, but I consider it reasonable for what I received -- a complete make-over of my front landscaping plus some work in the backyard as well. The new plants were of good quality, and the service was thorough, professional, and excellent. I was also impressed that someone from the company called me the next day to make sure everything had gone all right and to ask if I had any questions. A sheet providing instructions on caring for the new plants was also included with the mailed invoice. I had a very good experience with this company.

The M&I team did a great job installing my landscaping and the colors and plants look fantastic.  I am using them again to do more work.

We had our front yard landscaped.  It was a great experience and a beautiful result!  We really enjoyed working the Nicole, the designer.  She came out, took alot of time with us for ideas and returned with a beautiful design for our yard.  The work was done, she made sure that the guys who came out to actually do the work was following the design and not missing anything!  After completed, she returned and discussed care and maintenance of the yard.  We couldn't have asked for anything more.  Would recommend them and use them again!

My experience with M&I Landscapes was phenomenal.  Nicole was prompt, responsive to questions and concerns, and delivered exactly what I was looking for with my landscaping.  I could not believe what they were able to accomplish in a day- it was amazing.  My new landscaping makes me smile every time I pull into the driveway- I would not consider working with another company for future needs.

While M&I Landscaping performs a number of services for us (everything exceptionally done) they recently completed a restoration project on our paver patios and walkways.
The project entailed power washing, adjusting edging and finally installing polymeric sand to the surface.
As is always the case, the crew showed up on time, explained exactly what services they would be providing and checked with us upon
completion for our approval.
GREAT follow-thru and we highly recommend M&I Landscape for any outdoor project.

Almost every time we have used M & I, we have had perfect service.  Occasionally, with every company, sometimes a problem will crop up. The important thing to us is how the company handles the problem.  Any time there was ever the slightest issue, M & I has handled it promptly and completely, most times going above and beyond what was necessary to satisfy us.

We had the unfortunate experience of losing 9 Ash trees in our front
yard which really ruined the looks of our yard. I contacted M & I
Landscape, along with two other companies, to receive ideas, designs,
and quotes for replacement landscaping. We have worked with M & I
over the years for lawn care and snow removal so we knew we could trust
them.  Anthony at M & I was the most responsive of the 3 and we
discussed at length replacement ideas. Anthony made suggestions and
listened to my thoughts of what my wife and I were hoping to fix with
the loss of the trees. His bid was very competitive and he worked
diligently to obtain the type of trees we wanted and the size (2-16'
locusts, 3-12' service berries, and 1-8' coral bark Japanese maple).. He
worked with us for the placement and provided very expert advice after
the trees were planted to encourage their growth and establishment. As
we all know, this was a very tough summer to start new plants and we
watered as Anthony said we needed to but one Locust isn't looking very
good after the hard summer. I called Anthony since the landscaping had a
1 year warranty and he came over to take a look at the tree. He agreed
that it probably wasn't going to make it and will be replanting the
locust in the Spring. All in all, it was a great experience and the new
landscaping looks great and more mature due to the size of the plants. I
know that he will take care of the dying locust in the Spring and will
be good to his word. I have recommended Anthony and his services to
neighbors who have always been pleased with his work. I would never have
any problem recommending him and his company to anyone because they
know the meaning of service.

We are very happy with our new lawn, and look forward to working with M&I on more landscaping/lawn projects in the future.  M&I did an outstanding job.

Perfect.  Whomever answered the phone transferred me to Nicole...she asked a few questions and offered to check out my lot on her own time.  She came up with a landscape print that I really like.  She was very timely in her work, too, as I am eager to get through this process to get to the point of ground breaking before bad weather hits.
Nicole was wonderful to work with and she even revised my prints several times when the developer requested more info...definitely would recommend Nicole and very willing to use again for any landscaping needs!  :)

The ratings say it all.  

The work was started on the established date, but sadly we were disappointed with the work we had done this time, since previously they had done such a wonderful job. Some of the bushes that were pruned by them two weeks ago now look as if nothing was done and some were never trimmed. Obviously, they just topped off any new growth and did not actually “prune" the bushes. Also, the edging is almost none existent around the front and side beds and once we have any type of significant rain much of the mulch will be washed away. On a positive note, they did kill the ivy in the front and side yard beds; however, again the clean-up was limited.

M & I performed an amazing makeover of our yard. We originally contacted six companies with "A" ratings on Angie's List, five came out to view/measure our yard and three came through and provided a quote for the job.
Above everyone else, Anthony was extremely responsive via e-mail and phone during the quote process to make sure he provided the most accurate quote, which was delivered on time and compared reasonably with the others (right in the middle). We always felt like our job was a top priority for M & I and had no hesitation in choosing them for the project.
He listened to our thoughts for modifications, while offering his knowledgeable suggestions to deal with our dog's traffic pattern that was giving us grief. He also had no problem re-using the pavers we already had and just reworking them into the new plans. 
They kept in touch while our start date was firmed up, the crew arrived exactly when they said they would, confirmed the work they would be doing with us and completed the entire job ahead of schedule. The crew was polite, tidy and worked unbelievably hard and super quickly! They even saved some existing hosta plants and re-used them without question.
We received our balance invoice the next day and they answered all our maintenance questions for the new sod. It's 6 weeks later, and the sod (and everything else) still looks great!
From start to finish, Anthony was completely responsive, came up with creative solutions, and explained the process throughly. His team transformed our disastrous little Clintonville back yard into something you'd see along the New Albany links - all with a smile. We are so pleased with the results and M & I's professionalism!

I quoted out these services across three separate companies, two of which I found on Angie's List and I chose M&I. Anthony was thorough in the quotation and was able to add on / subtract line items to help keep costs in line while also making suggestions to ensure I got what I wanted (black mulch in a toddler play area-not a good idea). The work was scheduled promptly and the crew that showed up-unbelievable work ethic. Punctual, thorough, detail oriented and just plain fantastic. I've used other landscape companies since we moved to Columbus, but M&I might be the last one I need to find. Could not speak more highly of the work done. Thanks, guys

     Overall, we were extremely pleased with M&I.  They worked with us to choose an acceptable date for the work to be done.  They arrived at the agreed upon time for the estimate and for the work itself.  The workers were polite and efficient.  We especially appreciated the time spent on comparing various plans for improving the yard; seeding versus sod and scraping versus chemical eradication of the old vegetation.

They do a good job at snow removal. Prices have increased steadily over the years.

M&I was very responsive from my first phone call. This was a large expensive project and I had never hired anyone to do this extensive landscaping work before. I did call or email them practically every day to ask many many questions or clarify as I wanted to make sure expectations were clear prior to signing the contract. Regardless of my numerous questions they were always extremely helpful and promptly answered any and all questions. They scheduled the work for early June, and had to move start by 1 day due to significant rain we had, but they kept me well informed and they showed up when they said they would on the first day. The crew was great to work with, very professional and true craftsman at what they did i.e. stone and paver work. They would provide suggestions/recommendations that were spot on. Anthony was on site each day (project took 2 days) and would walk through progress and any questions I had. He was always reachable by phone, but I had total confidence in the crew on site. I am looking forward to having them back next year for additional yard cleanup maintenance as well as finalizing the design plans around the back of the house.

It went very well. My wife and I had a good experience over all. I spoke with Anthony (owner) and Nicole and we went over what we needed. They were very easy to talk to as well as to be reached. The price of the project was similar to others and we went with M & I because of the personal treatment. We are doing a few more projects this season with them and look forward to a similar experience.

He didn't give me any notice he was going to come, it was last minute. I gave him my gate code and told him I fired the previous landscapers because they gave my gate code to everyone and they stole things out of my car. I told him he better not give it out to anyone, I got home two hours later and he hadn't yet been here. My other request was to ring the gate first in case I was home or the dogs were out. Before I knew it there are all of these people in my yard and he wasn't there. He gave my gate code to a worker and he can't understand why I fired him. The safety of a person's property and home should come first, my respect is with the person I hired and the business owner. They also started giving me estimates that were on the high end. He didn't complete something that was supposed to be on his check list. He was supposed to dig up the hostices and separate them, but he didn't do it. I will not hire them again.

They are very conscientious and prompt. If they can't come for whatever reason, they always call. The owner gives everybody his cell phone number; he's very easy to reach.

Great job, responsive, made appropriate changes, super to work with.
