Went pretty well overall. They have the lowest prices in town (I had something like 6-7 estimates before I picked a firm) and a professional team. The installation crew was definitely aware of more things than I thought mattered and so their attention to detail was greatly beneficial. This included things like how far out the countertops should come to line up with other walls. (Tough to explain, but the point is that they have an eye for detail and it means you'll get it done right) Overall, I give them an A for lowest prices, good product, and a good installation team. Was there an area they could improve? Yes - after installation customer support. They had 1 great handling and 1 I label as medium quality. 1) In one of my countertop's spots, they used a lot of glue on the bottom. Because granite stone is porous, it created a darker stain visible at the top of the material. I emailed them about this with photos and the response I got was that each stone is unique and different designs should be expected as the material settles. I asked him to speak to the installer and after that, his response was that it should go away, and if it doesn't, he said they would replace it at no charge. Awesome service. It eventually went away as the glue dried and the granite looked much more normal. 2) In my bathroom installations, there is a stain that has been there ever since the beginning. I didn't notice it right away just because I was still getting used to the granite. This was also chalked up as being natural to the granite stone. I disagree. To me, given that the stain occurs in 2 spots, I believe it was a stain on the product that existed when it was in the warehouse. I wish this part was replaced. I've attached 2 photos to this review of the issue. Be aware that in the second photo, there is a natural color change that almost makes it look like there are big chunks missing, but that's just how the photo turned out. The surface is smooth in reality.

My wife visited Discount Granite, where she selected a granite type and got a quote for the granite, backsplash, and bathroom vanity undermount sink. The quote had sink dimensions on it, which were very similar to other sinks in our house. (It turned out we were measuring the undermount sink opening, and the quote was showing the overall dimensions of the sink, much of which is hidden under the counter.) Later we placed the order and scheduled an installation time. The supplier's subcontractor showed up at the time scheduled, cut the granite outside on the driveway, then carried it inside and installed it in the bathroom. When he called me to look at it, the granite looked great, but the sink was the size of a bar sink, not a bathroom sink. I asked the installer why the sink was so small, and he just said that was what Discount Granite gave him to install. My wife said she had requested a bathroom sink. When she called Discount Granite the next day, Mark immediately understood there was a problem and said he would help us find a larger sink. When I talked to him, he made some suggestions for places to find a replacement sink and offered to help us order one from a web site, but this cooperative spirit ended as soon as I brought up that he should give us credit for the sink he supplied and pay for the rework by the installer. Discount Granite absolutely should have paid for the fix, or better yet, completely redone the job; we asked for a bathroom sink and got a bar sink. However they made it clear they had no intention of correcting their error, and we had to finish the project, so I could not wait to fight it out with them. So I did all the work to locate a new sink. The problem was getting something large enough to include the existing cutout and drilled holes, but not too large for the vanity size. We eventually decided a new undermount sink would never work, so had to switch to looking at drop-in sinks. Just over one month after the original installation, the installer came back, recut the installed granite for the new drop-in sink, and I paid him. The installer had warned us cutting granite inside the house would make a mess, but we had no choice. He was right; granite dust goes everywhere. It took parts of several days to vacuum up as much of the dust as possible, but again we really had no choice. So we ended up with a drop-in sink, rather than the undermount look we wanted and we had to pay the cost to fix their mistake. I understand a mistake can be made. I do not understand a company making such a mistake, then leaving their customer hanging out to dry. The company has refused to reimburse our out of pocket costs and has made inaccurate statements about the matter to the BBB. Needless to say I won?t be using them again and cannot possibly recommend them.
Description of Work: We purchased a granite bathroom vanity countertop, with a back splash and undermount bathroom sink from this company. The price included installation. They used a subcontractor to do the installation.
