Eric Anderson, the service technician, was very professional, personable and helpful. He worked quickly and neatly and was able to accomplish all the repairs in less than a day. I'm very happy with the job he did. The only problem I had was not with Eric, but with the communication provided to him from ARS. The reason I used ARS was because of an "Angie's Big Deal" special which was $99 for $200 worth of plumbing. When I scheduled with ARS I specifically mentioned the offer as well as its numerical code. I also gave them a brief description of all the projects I wanted done. When the technician arrived he had not been told about the projects involved so I had to go over them with him. Once he reviewed all the projects he gave me an estimate which he discounted based on the size of the job. After he gave me the quote I mentioned the "Big Deal" special and asked for the $200 discount. He said that he had not been informed of that and he could not apply the $200 because had already discounted the project so much that there was no room to take another $200 off. While I thought the price was pretty fair and went ahead with the project, I was not pleased with the fact that I couldn't apply the discount.

I purchased the Angie's List BIG DEAL outdoor faucet replacement for $89.  This 'deal' included ALL PARTS & LABOR.  I purchased a smilar deal earlier this year for $79 from a different company and it went perfectly = there was no additional cost.  When the deal came up again, I purchased one for my mother.  My huge mistake was that this 'deal' was offered from a different plumbing company and my mother ended up being charged $128 in ADDITION to the $89 'deal'.  Basically the deal this company advertised is for an outdoor faucet that they can't even install because of city code (or so they say) so you will automatically be charged for an upgraded outdoor faucet and additional labor.  Hello bait & switch.
It's an absolutely shady deal from the start.  What additional work is there?  The deal I purchased included all parts and labor for an outdoor faucet replacement.  I understand if there were a charge for an 'upgraded' faucet that I chose to purchase, but additional labor for it?  The plumber was there a grand total of 30 minutes... Ten of which was spent in the truck.  So 20 minutes of labor to change an outdoor faucet will cost you $217 from this company, not the $89 deal that included parts & labor.  The man who performed the work was very nice & performed his job well, I don't have any issue with him or his work.  My issue is with the company, if it's not possible to install the faucet you advertise due to code then why advertise it?

** Update **  I went to my mothers house this weekend (June 16) & looked at the faucet.  I turned the hose on & saw that the new faucet will gush water out its handle until the pressure is relieved by turning the water on at the other end of the hose at the nozzle.  The faucet can't hold any pressure.  I've never seen this happen before.

Update #2.  In an effort to work this issue out I went though the Angie's List Big Deal complaint office.  I received ONE call from the Angie's List rep (Shawna White) and I called her back not once, or twice but five times over the past month.  I have not received any return call.  I leave messages every time I call.  This is crazy, what good is the dispute resolution that Angie's List offers if they don't follow up with calls?????

Update #3.  It's September & my issue has not been resolved.

Beware! Beware! .... I purchased the $89 outside faucet replacement on Angie's list Big Deal..  When the Plummer arrived he indicated he had to cut a hole through the inside wall in the family room to get to the outside faucet to replace it.   My house is only nine years old and I could not perceive why one would have to cut through the drywall from the inside of the house to get to the outside faucet to replace it.   I did not agree to that method to replace the faucet..  as an alternative he indicated he could replace the parts and repair my existing faucet for an additional cost.  He replaced the parts to the existing faucet for a total of $313.20 ($224.20 + 89.00)
The worker was professional, courtesy and a likable guy... the problem is a job that was suppose to be $89.00 listed as an Angie List  "Big Deal" ended up being $313.20 for two replacement parts to repair the existing faucet ....when a brand new faucet, labor and all was only $89....  Figure that one out!

Steve had no problem explaining everything as he worked on the problems.  And for the tub faucet I should have got on the internet and searched for a coupon - my bad.  But it needed to be done.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service. I think I ended up paying additional money over the $50 Big Deal price. I remember this being somewhat of an issue and the plumber having, somewhat, of a different interpretation of what the Big Deal $50 meant.  He brought out a commercial grade auger to unclog the toilet so there were no parts involved, or anything like that. This was the first time I used them and they thought the Big Deal meant one thing and I interpreted it to mean another; that was the problem.

Well, I purchased the Angie Big Deal coupon for replacing an exterior faucet for $89.00.  I called the company ARS Rescue Rooter and set the appointment up for last Friday 5/31/2013 for ;00 PM.  Around 3:30 PM, I called the company to see what the problem was and if they forgot about my job.  The person on the other end of the line stated that they got behind in some work and "was just about to call me" to reschedule.  So I rescheduled for the following Monday for 10:30 AM.
Around 11:30 I agained called the contact number and the receptionist stated that the technician was about to pull up  to my house.  At 12:15, I called back and spoke to another person who was in the office "stopping by".. He said that the board shows the technician has been at my house for over 20 minutes.  News to me since I was in my yard.  Just then the technician walked up the drive and intorduced himself as Allen.
This is where this event gets interesting.  I told Allen I purchased the exterior faucet replacement for $89.00.  Allen then said "well the ad was wrong."  Allen said that his company from out west placed the ad with Angies list and it is a sillcock replacement for $89.00  not a faucet but his company would not recommend a sillcock for this area of the US since it could have a freeze problem in the winter.  Allen then stated that the company was recommending a faucet for an additional $61.00, 1/2 off thier price.  I told Allen that sounded like a 'bait and switch " scam and that is illegal in most states including Ohio!

Allen stated the the PICTURE in the ad is for a sillcock not a faucet.  I countered by the ad said hose faucet replacement.  I called  the contact number, spoke to the receptionist and asked for the  contact person, Jason Norris.  The receptionist stated Jason Norris could not take my call at this time.  I then asked for Mr Norris cell number which I was told was not for distribution.  I handed the phone off tho Allen who walked away from me with my phone.  while talking to the receptionist.  Allen returned, handed me back my phone then his phone rang, its was Jason Norris.
Allen let me speak to Mr Norris who told me the same tale as Allen did about it was Angies List's fault for this mix up but his company would galdly put on the frost free faucet for the  additonal charge.  I relented and agreed to the $61.00 charge.  Allen went right to work after writing up a new invoice for me.
The techncian,Allen, seemed to get the job done OK.  After the work was completed  Allen said he had to install a shut off near the faucet since he didn't want to sweat pipe near the exterior of house possibly causing a fire.  He asked for the coupon which I had to print down stairs where my computer was located.  Allen stated he didn't know my house had a basement he thought it was a slab house and if he knew that he could have ran a single pipe instead of putting a shutoff valve on, adding another solder joint and possible leak point.  I asked him why he didn't asked and Allen countered why didn't I tell him.
I paid the extra cost and Allen went on his way with a handshake and sorry for the misunderstanding.  When Allen left , I went to check out the faucet and observed rusty, copper handprints all over the siding where Allen worked at and then saw that one of the screws to hold the faucet had a stripped head(another potential problem down the line) and sticking out about a 1/8 inch, not flushed with the mounting.
So in a nutshell this was not a good expierence at all.  EIther the company misled with the ad or the ad was placed in the wrong section of the United States, whichever I would not recommend this company

BUYER BEWARE if you are East of the Mississippi or North of the Mason Dixon!!!!  The $89 outdoor faucet replacement is NOT frost free!!!  Turns out, that actually costs $289.  Because I purchased an $89 "Angie's Deal", they only charged me $149... too bad it was too late to say no.
They were actually very good about scheduling and calling when they were running late.  The worker was very corteus and a likeable guy.... just have to wonder what happened to their "$89" deal.

They were pretty expensive for one thing. They got here at 3:30 in the afternoon and we showed them what we needed to get done which was about fifteen minutes. He started with the sink and needed to go get something. So he left and was back after an hour or so. He walked in and said he had got the wrong ones so he went back again for an hour and got back. He started the work again and did the toilet and the place was flushed out in five minutes. He spent a little time working on the project and charged us $750 and gave us a certificate of $570. He charged us within the book he referred to but I wouldn't use them again. They were responsive as they came the same day.

I contacted my home owners insurance and in turn they told me to contact ARS Rescue Rooter.  They came out and gave me estimate of the problem with my kitchen sink.  They arrived in a timely manner, the service tech was professional and courteous, and explained in detail what the problem was.  Since the issue was with a worn out faucette and had nothing to do with my water lines and would not be covered by my insurance, I decided get a few other estimates on the work because I felt ARS Rescue Rooter prices were a little high.

The person who came in suggested some alternatives (buy and provide toilet) that lowered my total cost.  I was very satisfied with the overall process and the people I worked with.

Did a great job!  Not easy, it was the drain for the washer and basement.  Arrived right on time, very clean and neat, cleaned up after they were done.  We've used ARS a couple of times, and will do so again.  Highly recommended.
