Showed up promptly for both estimate and for tree removal. Did a great job. Everyone courteous and professional. I would definately recommend.

After contacting Mathews Tree Service for an estimate, I met with Todd Mathews. He carefully examined the Ash tree and determined the estimate. Later when I called him back, we negotiated a price I liked better. The day of the removal they arrived ready to work even though it was a very hot day. They carefully cut back the upper tree branches, lowering them to the ground with ropes. At the same time they started cutting down the Spruce tree; being prepared to do it even though I had not decided for sure if I would cut that one down until just that morning. It was the easier tree even though it was very tall and wide. They didn't finish the cutting down process until the next day because the Ash tree was so huge. They cleaned up the yard very well...there were no sticks or debris of any kind left behind. Although I am still shocked when I see the bareness of the yard, I am glad I dealt with Todd Mathews.

We called on Monday a week after the big storm, Todd came out on Tuesday and Wednesday they were able to do the job. We did have a lower estimate but they were not able to do the work for three weeks. We paid a little more and he was able to come out right away. Todd and his men took 4 hours to take down the trees, clean up all the brush and cleaned up their work site.

After searching Anglie’s List I left a message Sunday afternoon to schedule the removal of an ash tree in our front yard. Todd returned my call that Sunday and Monday came by to give an estimate as well as explaining the removal of the tree. He was going to be in the area Tuesday and could fit me in. The crew arrived ahead of time and may quick work taking down the ash. This was a large ash, well above our 2 story home. The crew was terrific, cut and stacked wood for our fireplace, took care not to damage the surrounding landscaping and the only sign that they were here is the stump cut very low to the flower bed surrounding it, even the street was clean. I should have timed the removal, but it couldn’t have been more than a couple hours. Todd Mathews and his crew are very professional as well as good guys. Even in the heat his crew smiled and all were polite. No question, I would hire them again.

We called on a Sunday at around 11 am and the owner said he would be able to perform the work for us that day. We were thrilled. How awesome is that. He came when he said he would be there and was done in about 20 minutes.

We found Matthew's Tree Service on Angie's List. After reading positive reviews we decided to have them complete an estimate to cut down and remove four medium sized trees in our backyard. We also called another trees serves company that we found on Angie's lists as well. Both companies quoted approximately the same price but we just decided to go with Matthews. They arrived promptly on the scheduled date and time. They cut down all trees, grinded the stumps, and cleaned up/ hauled away all debris. We were very pleased with the quality of work that Matthews performed for us and we would definitely use their services again.

The crew completed the job in 2 days as anticipated. The price for the work was very reasonable, significantly lower than some other quotes we received. Todd warned that some of the garden plants beneath trees being removed might be damaged. But the crew was very careful, and no garden plants were harmed. The crew did an excellent job of cleaning up the yard at the end of the engagement including removing all the wood chip and saw dust remnants. It was a great experience all-around.

They did a great job and were able to come over on a Saturday when we were home. They were quick and punctual and did a great job cleaning up the entire area when finished with the job.

A very smooth experience from beginning to end. Prompt response, a fair estimate, job was scheduled quickly, and the quality of the work exceeded my expectations. I will call them the next time I need this type of service!

We had several estimates and Mathews Tree Service had the best price. They showed up on time and cleaned up the backyard and made it look spotless. We would use them in the future and refer to others.

Todd and his crew did a wonderful job. Although they had to reschedule a few times (due to weather, truck issues and other jobs), he was cooperative and did a great job. When I called to receive an estimate, Todd was at my house within 48 hours. He also did not require me or my husband to take off work to meet him for the estimate or job. He made it convenient for us. They also did an amazing job with the clean up, removing everything from the job as well as debris (leaves and branches) that were there from last year. I have and will continue to recommend Mathews Tree Service.

Todd and another employee came out the day after we spoke on the phone. He arrived right on time and had the rather large tree stump gone in no time.They cleaned up the yard before they left, and the yard looks great. I would definitely hire them again. Very easy to do business with.

Mathews Tree Service did a great job. Todd(the owner) came out and gave me an estimate the same day I called and gave me a really fair price. They came out the next week on the original day that was scheduled. He removed a dead 30ft ash tree from the front of my yard, cleaned up and grinded down the stump in about one hour leaving my yard looking cleaner that it did beforehand.

He was very punctual and did a great job removing all the debris. He also stacked the larger chunks on the side of the house as we had asked. The yard was cleaner after he left than when he started. Great Job!

How many pluses may I add to the "A"? Todd came Monday afternoon to look at what needed to be done, gave me an estimate, and said he could do the job at 11 a.m. the next day. They were on time and to work right away. It was amazing to watch how efficient and careful the two of them worked together. Everything that was cut down, was chipped right there, and/or hauled away. Each area was cleanup up and they left the driveway and area much better than when they arrived. Very professional work. We decided not to grind the stump for the tree removed, but Todd trimmed an extra tree and cleaned up a bit for me that they deserved the estimated amount. Extremely pleased and would highly recommend!

After I had contacted Mathews Tree Service, he inspected my three maple trees and we had agreed about prices for each and when he would start, which was on a Thursday. He called me on Thursday evening to inform me that he was supposed to call me the night before to tell me that he got held up on another job and that he rescheduled me for Sunday. I informed him that I would not be available to pay him after the job was finished on Sunday and he said as long as he got his money within a 24 hour periord that would be ok. The Saturday before the rescheduled appointment he called me and told me he re-looked at my trees and said that the guy who he had scheduled to cut around the high intention wires needed to be replaced with a more experienced guy but that guy would not be available until Monday or Tuesday to inspect the trees and that he would call me after he talked with him. He called me after the new guy inspected my trees and he told me that he would have to increase the price of the two trees in the back of my house by about $1000 dollars because of the high intention wires. I told him I would let him know later what I decided to do. I then had AEP come and trim back the tree limbs (about 4 feet) away from the high intention wires. I called Mathews Tree Service again and told him what I had done and that I would like him to come out and reassess the trees to see if he would do it for the original price. After he inspected the trees again he told me that he would do it for the same price because the trees were hanging over my house. (I thought that was interesting since the trees had been hanging over my house when he first inspected my trees.) I asked him which price was he refering to, the original one or the last one given and at that time he told me that he really wanted to pass on the job. I was very disappointed because that was weeks lost that I could have found someone else to do it. Eventually I did find someone else to do the job. The above date is an approximate date at to when I last spoke with Mathews Tree Service.

This company did a great job overall. They came out & looked at job & then gave estimate. I wasn't there when they did the work but was pleasantly surprised to see that they had accomplished everything we had talked about and more. Great attention to details. Charged me what they said they were going to charge me. No surprises.

The removal team stayed on the job and did an excellent job. Clean up after wards was exceptional.

I called Todd to see if we could get an estimate and he came over within the hour. We called him the next week to come and do the job. Todd was very professional and the workers were very nice . They did a good job. The tree was down and hauled away in one day. They cleaned up when they finished. We would hire them again if the need arose.

My first call was answered by a real person. I told him that I had a dead tree that needed to be cut down. He asked me a few details (location, etc) and said that he would be out to look at it and give me a quote the same day. A few hours later Todd called me at work from my yard. He gave me the quote and said that he could do the job later today if I wanted done. I had already received one quote from another company so I realized that his quote was very fair. I gave Todd the okay to do the job. When I got home and went out to the backyard to check out the work that had been done I was pleasantly surprised. If I hadn't known that there had been two dead trees there before, I wouldn't have noticed that anything had been done at all. The trees were gone and the yard was left in pristine condition. Much better than I expected. I know who I'll call if I ever need tree service again.

Todd and his team were a pleasure to work with. Todd came out to give us an estimate the same day that I first contacted him. His estimate was the lowest of three companies that I had come out. He came to the house within a week to have his men do the work. They were friendly, quick and efficient. They also did a great job cleaning up after themselves. I would not hesitate to hire them in the future.

They removed the tree very carefully and cleaned up the all the mess.

They are through and very professional. The tree was removed quickly and all materials were hauled away. Being an out of town landloard, it is very difficult to find professionals to fix and repair the things that go wrong . This company is an asset to Angies List and I highly recommend them to anyone neding their services. I certainly will call on them again should the need arise.
