Brian is very responsive. He takes pride in his work and ensures that the work is done with quality and care. I was in the process of moving and my timetable required some flexibility. I appreciated his flexibility and understanding.
The new floors look great. I am particularly happy with the way the stairs turned out.
There may be cheaper ways of doing things but I am more interested in overall value - a combination of price and quality. In that sense, I am happy I went with Brian.

It went great.  The floor looks really nice.  Brian and his staff are very punctual.  They are very conscientious about completing the job correctly and really want to please the customer.  He kept me informed of their progress and charged exactly what he quoted.  He and his staff are very friendly and pleasant to have around.  In addition to completing the flooring, they moved heavy furniture from the room to the garage and installed my new mailbox. Can't imagine anyone having a problem with this company.  Will always call them when I need flooring.

Brian was fantastic!  Once Brian got to our home to start on our job, we decided to have him remove all of the existing baseboards (pressed wood) and replace them with real wood throughout our kitchen, foyer and powder room (also included the closets).  Brian and his son Toby were very punctual every day.  The removal of the existing baseboards and quarter round started, they were both very careful and took pride in the job they were doing for me.  They removed all of the nails used in the previous install (very laborsome and time consuming) and prepped the area so the new install would be seamless.Needless to say the finish work that was performed in my home enhances the new wood flooring.  Brian also went the extra mile in finishing the areas around my entry closet and my pantry area (they have casing around them now and they look finished).  Brian also went to the home depot to pick up our new storm door.
The new molding around my kitchen island and under all of my cabinets is simply beautiful.  Brian matched the color exactly to the color of my cabinets. He also finished these areas by putting in new baseboards (exact color match) with the shoe molding they look very finished.
Also, he went the extra mile after removing the old existing baseboard and quarter round there were some areas in my flooring that were not properly installed.  We had left over flooring that he used to correct these areas by the other company.
Needless to say I am very proud of my finished product and I owe that to Brian and his son Toby.
I would definitely use Brian again in the future.

Brian was absolutely amazing and did a fantastic job despite "hiccups" along the way that were out of his control.
When I called him for an estimate on a Friday, he called me back that day and even offered to come over the weekend if that worked for me (it didn't, I had family in town) so he came on Monday.   He was very professional, straight to the point and knew exactly what I wanted.  He suggested a place to get the floor, but made it clear I could go wherever I wanted to and he would pick up and deliver the floor so I wouldn't have to pay a delivery charge.  I ended up going with the place he suggested, which is a national chain and very well known.  Their prices were very reasonable and service was good at first.  He picked up and delivered the floor on Friday night just to make sure he could start that Monday.
The floor I picked out ended up being of poor quality.  Brian immediately called and told me he did not feel comfortable continuing because he didn't feel it look acceptable.  He called the place that I had bought the floor first to tell them, and ask if it was possible that it was a manufacturer defect, and they told him to "go ahead with the install and they would fix it later" ??  He refused and called me instead.  We then had the manufacturer rep out to the house the next day, he agreed of the issue but said it was because "our room was really bright"??!  Brian told him he had never seen floor look like that and the rep agreed to take it back.  Brian then returned all the floor so I could get credited.  When I expressed my concern that he get compensated for his time, he told me that was not my worry and as his customer, I should only be concerned with getting a quality floor installed.  I was extremely impressed by his willingness to go the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied.
I ended up picking out a different floor at a completely different place because the original place did not have what I was looking for.  He picked that up and delivered it as well.  The install was then completed in a day and a half by him and his son.  It looks beautiful and he even continued the corner molding under the cabinets because he had remembered when he did the estimate for me, how I hated that it wasn't finished.
All in all I was extremely impressed with Brian's quality of work and his character throughout the entire process.  I would highly recommend him.

The project went very well.  Brian gave us a detailed budget and stuck to it.  His assistant was on vacation the week of the project, so Brian definitely earned his pay.  He is an extremely hard worker and very skilled finished carpenter.  We are very happy with his work.

Amazing!  When I first reached out to Brian he called me back before I had time to leave a message.  I was calling on a Saturday so I wasn't anticipating being able to talk to someone until Monday.   I was not only impressed to be able to talk to Brian, but based on my busy schedule, he was able to come out two days later after I was off work.  This is my first home and I am working with a lot of people to get work done and by far Brian was the most responsive and willing to accommodate my schedule.  Brian took the time to answer all my questions (and I had a lot of questions).  He was responsive and knowledgeable and made the decision making process easy.  From the first call to the initial estimate to the finished product....less than two weeks!  Hands down the best service and quality there is.  He also went above and beyond to help with other projects I have going on.  For example, he noticed I had started to install blinds (and not very well).  He, without hesitation, offered to help.  He just picked up where I left off and explained what he was doing along the way.  I was just blown away with the customer service and quality of work.  I only wish he did more than floors.  If I ever move and need new floors I know there's only call I'll make.  Until then, consider me a permanent part of you marketing team.  Thank you so much Brian!  You helped make my new house a beautiful home!

had seen brian's work in a neighbor's house and was impressed.   thought this would be a no-brainer.  incredibly wrong.  he didn't remember theneighbor or doing her work and was eager to schedule with me only to call me 5 minutes before the end of the window of time he was to show up in claiming he was beat and wanting to reschedule.  i had rescheduled my day to wait for him.  he claimed he would call the next day at noon to reschedule for that afternoon (if i was available) and never called.
no respect for my time and i certainly wouldn't be comfortable working with brian and his team after being disregarded for a simple quote.

I selected oak hardwood flooring for a home office to match what was in my hallway and 16 x 16" marble-looking vinyl tile for a bathroom.  I purchased and picked up the flooring myself.  Brian Ganyard, owner of Affordable Interior Finish Carpentry did the installation.
He and a small crew removed the old flooring in both rooms, put down the wood floor and the vinyl, including prepping the under flooring.  I also had a piece of rotten exterior wood trim that he removed and replaced.
The wood floor work was gorgeous.  He laid a cross piece and beveled it to make the transition from the hallway wood floor seamless.  Even though the floors are of slightly different heights, it is impossible to see because of the expert way he handled the transition.  I've tried to see the difference and can't.
They stained new quarter round moulding to match the existing woodwork.  In the bathroom, they removed the toilet so the tile fit exactly.  They put in a new high quality wax seal when they replaced the toilet.  The amount of tile I purchased wasn't enough, so Brian came back twice when I got more tile to finish the job.  The new moulding in the bathroom was also replaced.  They cleaned up after each job.
Brian was easy to reach by phone and promptly returned calls.  He came out to the house first and offered a free estimate, then gave me a discount for being an Angie's List member.
He was very professional and personable.  He does beautiful work.  I had a hot tub for sale and we ended up trading the work and some cash for the hot tub.  I plan to have him back in a few months to do another project.  He will be my new "go to" person for interior carpentry and floors.  I would definitely hire him again and can recommend him.  He does high quality work.

I contacted Brian to get a 2nd estimate after having encountered problems/concerns with Home Depot  who I had initially hired to install flooring. After meeting with Brian it was decided that I would have him complete the work.  The first 2 1/2 days consisted of removing carpet from living, dining, and family rooms.  Also had ceramic tile removed from kitchen and kitchenette area along with laminate in foyer and hallway, 1/2 bath.  Although I had removed much furniture from the home many large pieces remained and Brian let know that he and his associates(can't recall names so will refer as this) would work around them as part of the job.  Also no extra fee for having to remove and  reset toilet.  The project took approximately 6-7 days.  I had decided after day one that I wanted 4 new interior doors to be hung.  Brian gave me samples to choose from and he ordered them and went to Menards to purchase.  I picked out the hardware and purchased but when I had miscalculated # of knobs needed Brian went out and picked up another along with paint for the doors.  After completing the work all old materials were cleaned up.

Brian and his assistant did a great job installing our new hardwood floor in the kitchen and dining area. He arrived promptly to complete the estimate and was able to accommodate our aggressive schedule for installation.  He arrived to complete the installation as scheduled and finished in the estimated time frame and within budget.  The quality of the workmanship was outstanding.  We would definitely hire this company again.

I called Brian to schedule an estimate, within a week the work was done.  He came to the house a total of 3 times (one day for the estimate, one day to bring the stained samples for my approval, & one day to complete work).  The finished product was outstanding & the price was too good to be true.  I will be calling Brian in the future, if I need any finishing work.

They gave me a quote a few days ago.  They gave me a detailed cost of the labour. They were professional. So far, it has been fine, but I have only talked to him two times.
The quote process was reasonable. Everything went smoothly. I would get a quote from them again in the future.

Oh my God, what I can I say.  This man has been a lifesaver!  When I first called Brian with my flooring dilemma, I had no idea how good of a carpenter he was going to be.  He was busy when I first called, I called three others and was discouraged.  He then called when he finished a job and asked did I still need work,  At that time I had hired someone else and my boss needed work so I set up that appt.  Within a day he met with my boss and impressed him he sent him to me and told me to pull all others from the work.  This was exactly two weeks ago.  Brian, has done such wonderful work I can't stop showing it off to my coworkers and friends.  It's as if he listens to you and gets to know your style and sets off to do what he loves ... carpentry.  What really let me know I had a good one was when I seen the detail he put into the window sills without me even asking for a design.  I just knew it was just going to be a cut piece of wood.  This was only the first part of my work.  He starts the second phase next week.  If you want a hardworker and honest and someone who loves what they do and it shows in their work, Hire Brian!!

If you need new flooring installed- Brian is your guy!  He was great to work with on this project.  He got in contact timely with his estimate, was prompt with the dates for install, came on time and very professional.  He did a great job! my floors look fabulous!  He even fixed a cabinet drawer that was dangling from its hinges.  He was even patient with my two dogs - making sure that they were comfortable with him before he started work!  Dont hesitate to hire Brian.

Great experience.  Brian was prompt, stayed in contact, scheduled the work quickly, was very kind and efficient.  He gave excellent advice about an different type of flooring. The job was completed very neatly and we are so pleased that we are budgeting to have him come back to replace the floor in another room too.  He went out of his way to make the room look very nice--even upgraded the baseboard trim with scraps from his truck which he painted on the spot so it would match nicely.  Now the bathroom has become the nicest looking room in our whole house.

The job went very well. Brian is extremely good at what he does and is very meticulous about his work.  The wood was stained (not painted) so it was very important for the joints to match up perfectly.  He also made a couple of minor woodwork repairs around my home at no additional charge.

We called Brian on a Wednesday (he answered promptly) and he came the next day (Thursday) to provide an estimate (he was on time!).  He offered to meet us at Menards on Friday to help pick out the doors.  He said that Menards had prefinished 6-panel doors that we might be able to use instead of needing to stain all of the new doors.  We were in luck that the prefinished stain matched what we wanted and Menards had all of the doors that we needed. Brian confirmed that he could start the following week!  Brian also called the Monday before he started so that we could provide payment to Menards when he ordered the pre-finished trim and other assorted materials that he would need for the job.  Delivery of the doors was on the following Wednesday ? the same day that Brian started.  He set-up his equipment (saw, etc.) in the garage and got right to work.  He even oversaw the delivery of the doors to ensure that we had everything.  He worked diligently for five full days (which included Saturday and Sunday!).  He had originally estimated four days to finish but took five just because there were challenges with some of the doors.  Some of our existing door framing was crooked so it took time to ensure everything was even and the doors hung correctly.  We had minimal touch-up painting that was needed when he was finished.  He took great care when removing the existing trim and door casings.  Either he or his ?assistant? Tommy vacuumed up the debris whenever they removed a door.  All existing materials (doors, trim, etc.) were hauled away.  He and Tommy cleaned the garage and removed all of their equipment with no indication of the work that had been done in there!   He even returned a few items and provided us with the return receipt credit as well as a rebate from Menards.  Brian even saw that we had a loose banister on our second floor and made sure it was secured.  Both he and Tommy were also careful to ensure that they kept exterior doors shut to keep our kitties from escaping.  Brian is the real-deal ? a first-class carpenter that really knows how to install doors and finish trim.  He has a great work ethic, enjoys what he does and ensures that he minimizes impact to the customer.  We wish we could have him finish all of our woodwork now but that project will need to wait for sometime in the future!  Thanks Brian and Tommy for an outstanding job!!!

Tommy did an outstanding job with the floor and Brian went over and above in seeing to it my closet door was done properly this time because the original builder had apparently neglected to put the track in the door correctly and why it kept falling off the tracks.  Both made sure they cleaned up their debris and both were very polite, professional and efficient.
Overall I received excellent service at a very good price and for that I'd highly recommend them on future jobs.

Brian gave us a written estimate for the project.  He asked numerous questions concerning our expectations and showed us photos of completed projects.  The bookcases and mantle exceeded our expectations.  Brian, not only came up with suggestions but, uncovered a number of hidden problems and offered to repair them for a small additional fee.  He added a few finishing touches we weren't expecting, which only enhanced the beauty of the final result.

Brian came on Tuesday to measure the door. On Saturday, he returned with a new (energy efficient) door, a lock (the keys to the old one were missing), and everything else needed for the job.  He has removed an old cabinet that was in a way, replaced the door and the frame, installed a new trim, and insulated everything. He also removed a disintegrated concrete block serving as a door step and hauled everything away - my garage looks cleaner than it did yesterday morning. Now I have a new door, and I did not have to do anything at all!

When we bought our new house in Olde Worthington, one of the biggest drawbacks was the lack of closet space.  Our master bedroom seemed to have some "losable" space, so we got the crazy idea to have someone build us a closet.  After interviewing a number of contractors, we made a phenomenal choice by hiring Brian.  He's a fun guy, and did amazing work with very limited direction.  He even was able to complete the task within a very limited window before we moved into the house.  The closet surpassed anything we had imagined, and we now have more storage room than we know what to do with.  I cannot recommend Brian enough - he's a true artist!
