Benedict Roofing was established three generations ago by Joseph Benedict I, on 25th & Denison in Cleveland Ohio. Columbia Station became the new home of Benedict Roofing when the second generation Joseph Benedict II continued the tradition of quality roofing. Today, brothers Bob Benedict and Chris Benedict are the third generation in the Benedict Roofing legacy. They continue to serve Northeast Ohio and continue giving their costumers the same high quality standards as their father and grandfather. Benedict Roofing has the highest quality standards. You know that every roof will be done right because Bob Benedict and Chris Benedict are always on the job working along side their crews. Benedict Roofing does not subcontract any of their work – never have and never will. Every roof by Benedict Roofing is personally hand-nailed by one of the owners. The same way it has been done for over sixty years. We use real nails and we hand-nail every one of them. This is to insure that every shingle is correctly aligned and secured to your roof. mr. bob benedict completed our roof installation exactly one week before the arrival of hurricane sandy in our area. while we did have a power outage; we had no problems with our new roof.  no shingles were lifted or lost.  no leaks despite heavy winds.  our leaf relief gutter covers performed beautifully (recommended by bob).  Bob and his crew were very pleasant and professional--easy to work with.  we could not be more satisfied with our new roof.  after job clean up was exceptional.  hand-nailing of shingles stood up to the storm. anyone needing roof work would do well to call mr. benedict. i highly recommend his company.

This is the only company that I have given a negative review to.  They do good work, as far as it goes, and never were impolite.  They did, however, deliberately use shingles that were less durable and costly than the ones I paid for.  I noticed the bag labels when they were partly done with the job, and they explained that they weren't about to lug the heavier ones up to the roof.  No adjustment was made for the cost of materials and no apology was made for cheating me.  
I had hoped that the new roof would be the last one I would need.  A lot of folks move frequently, but I ordered the heavier shingles because I planned to live here into my retirement.  Soon I will have to replace the roof again.
Bottom line:  Courteous workers and very good work ethic, but check your materials before they put the first shingle on your roof!

"This customer never questioned us about the shingles. We make it a rule to use the shingles written into the contract. Had he brought his questions to our attention we would have verified that we used the shingles he agreed upon. The bag labels he saw might have been the starter shingles which we double enforce with ice guard, flashing, drip-edge, and heavy underlayment, and then the heavier shingles. We apologize for any confusion and welcome him to call any time."

They did good work. The bid was about the same as other companies but they did a little more work on the project. They other companies wanted to charge extra. They also replaced a couple pieces of rotten wood.

The entire job took the crew of 3 and sometimes 4 men 2.5 days. As the work progressed Bob found that a larger area of tear-off would give a better result but he did not charge for the extra work. Ventilation in the attics was improved by construction of ridge vents, as expected. The men took great care to protect our deck and plantings with tarps and they left no debris behind. At my request they set aside the materials from the tear-off that I could recycle. Bob is a third-generation roofer, an old-fashioned careful craftsman who reliably does excellent work at a very fair price. They were unfailingly pleasant to have around. My only reluctance in giving this company such a rave review is that I would hate to have them treated badly by any unpleasant clients who might give them a hard time.

The pricing is very good. It was clean, good work. It was a tear off and a re-roof. They showed up on time. The clean up was good. They took the time to all answer my questions and explain what was going on.

We used them a couple of months ago. We had water leaking in from the roof, so he came out and looked at it. He could not quite tell what the problem was and asked us to call him when had a problem again. A year ago, the shingles came off the barn and we had him repair it. He was prompt, punctual and honored the estimate that was given. He also clean up after himself.

They are absolutely wonderful. They were prompt and cleaned up everything. They even had to remove a bush to get the truck close enough, and they replaced it (it's thriving). They did what they said they would promptly, and price was competitive.
