About us
Refinishing antiques and older furniture is gaining in popularity. Fixing a broken chair instead of throwing it out is more "GREEN" these days. Re-using older office furniture instead of replacing with expensive imported metal or plastic is now becoming a trend. The throw-away mentality of the 1990's and the 2000's is being replaced by traditional values. Values such as repairing, caring/maintaining, and passing on quality furniture to the next generation. Tom's Furniture.net, owned and operated by Tom Knezevic, is in the business of keeping tradition alive. Refinishing your parent's or grandparent's dining set is not only worth the money, but more often than not a better value than buying the expensive junk furniture that is being peddled in stores today. And Tom knows because he is the one who fixes this furniture. Broken table legs, crushed fiberboard corners, snapped off lag bolts in particle board, foggy, dull heavy finishes from China, popped veneers on Egyptian imports---the list of quality issues affecting modern furniture are numerous.

1. a heavy, solid wood entertainment center door in which the screw had snapped off in the hinge.
2. a particleboard armoire door in which the hinge had snapped off.
Richard visited us twice to complete the work. He came early/on time both times. During the first visit, he repaired the entertainment center door and examined the armoire door. He took the armoire door with him to repair/replace the hinge, and returned it a few days later, fully repaired. So far, the repairs are holding up and the wife is happy she can close her armoire again! I even received advice as to where I could obtain new door handles for our bedroom furniture.
I feel I received more than what I paid for. Would use again.
When the finish was off, I went to his shop to choose a new finish. By the way, I expected the wood to be all oak. Tom pointed out which wood was which and why it took the stain and original paint the way it did. I would have to say Tom is a guy who knows and enjoys his work.
Within a week he had the entire job done. He also had connections with a delivery person, who brought the finished items to my home.
The furniture is great looking. I had it in my basement for 28 years, and before then it was in my Grandmother's basement, waiting for somebody to take the trouble to throw it away. I don't think the price was expensive as such things go, since I now have an antique, family owned, solid oak and maple dining table with leaf and chairs.
Tom's connection with the delivery people was also valuable. They, like Tom, did a great job. Thank you all!!!
