Very happy with the repairs on our 99 year old basement foundation. All four walls were excavated, repaired and waterproofed. New drain piping, downspouts and an outdoor sump pump was installed on time and on budget. Communication was excellent throughout the job. Nick's crew was hardworking, courteous and professional. They left our home in great shape. Nick is personable, knowledgable but most importantly fair and HONEST! There were no surprises. The work we had done was not cheap, but we wouldn't hesitate to recommend NB Enterprises.

Nick, owner of N B Enterprises and his very professional crew performed an A+++ job replacing the basement walls of our 100 year old house, originally built on a crawl space and a basement added by digging under the house and installing footers, four walls and floor during the 1940’s. My wife and I highly recommend N B Enterprise to waterproof and restore basement walls because of their experience, knowledge, excellent communication skills and professionalism. My family members have lived in this house since early 1950’s and my wife and I took ownership last year after a death in our family. I interviewed about a dozen basement waterproofing contractors for this unusual and difficult job and Nick was the only one who proposed a thorough basement wall restoration plan and quality materials. Nick used all the correct materials on the basement walls and drainage pipe to remove water away from the basement walls and footers. He improved the water pipe coming into the basement, installed aluminum trim under the Aluminum siding to prevent water from entering, removed debris from around the house and performed excellent clean up. I highly recommend N B Enterprises for basement repair and waterproofing.

Nick and his crew were very professional and the work was done well and according to schedule, even working one Saturday to complete that job on time. We had confidence that Nick knew what he was talking about and that we would get our serious water/mildew problem taken care of. He checked in on the crew daily and kept us informed of the job's progress. We were very pleased with the work done.

I hired Nick and his crew to work on a 90 year old historic
home in Gates Mills that my brother and I were rehabbing to put on the
market.  The basement of the house had excessive moisture problems along
with mold.  I got estimates from 4 total highly rated companies on Angie's
list. The other three told me that I had no option other than excavating the
entire basement including an ornate sand stone porch that borders one side of
the house and sits on a 10 foot cement base.  The estimated cost was
$45,000 and they offered me no alternatives.  I hired one of the other
companies to jet sewer the down spouts to the gutters and snake the window well
drains.  They worked for about two hours clearing the downspouts and then
told me that all of my drains were clogged and would need to be
excavated.
The total cost was prohibitively high for us since we had inherited the house
and were working with limited funds for the rehab.  When Nick arrived I
was somewhat discouraged however he was able to work with me to offer a
reasonable alternative for less than half the price which involved excavated
the more accessible walls to the foundation replacing the footer drains,
waterproofing the walls and back filling with gravel.  Snaking all the
window well drains (which after 3 hours of work his crew was able clear) and
jetting the footer drains from the exposed sides.  He then filled in the
holes in the sand stone porch (which were intending for plantings and served as
the major source of water problems on that side of the house.) He told that
although he could not guarantee that side of the house he felt the work would
solve 90+% of my problem.  I am happy to report over a year later
including a very wet spring and fall the basement is still dry.
His crew was very professional and hard working.  When they were done they
completely leveled that ground so all I had to do was replant the grass (this
was a big deal to me after I had spent nearly 5K landscaping to fix the mess
the company that replaced the septic system left.)  The work they did on
the sand stone porch was as good as that I had done by a mason.  When Nick
came back to inspect the final job and get his payment the furnace to the house
had broken due to an electrical problem caused by the septic company.
Nick fixed the wiring on the furnace to get it going again and did not charge
me anything for this.
This was the best experience I had with over a dozen contractors I hired to
work on this house.   Rather than take advantage of me (I'm a woman
in my early 30's and trust me many of the people I hired took one look at me an
raised their estimates) Nick really tried to understand my problem and develop
a workable solution for me that was within the constraints on my budget.
I am forever grateful and would use them again in a heartbeat!

The work started on time as promised.  All members of the crew were very knowledgeable, efficient and courteous.  I expected the process to take longer than it did.  The project was completed in 2 weeks.  It passed both city inspection with flying colors and my property was cleaned up very well.  The only thing left for me to do was seed the lawn where the drainage ditch was dug and replant the flowers I had saved prior to the start of construction.
Thank you, Nick and Crew, for doing such a wonderful job.

I called 3 highly rated waterproofers and received 2 call backs.  One does not work in Parma, and the other was N B Enterprises.  Nick came out and gave me a quote which was almost exactly what I was expecting to pay.  They were out doing the work a couple days later.  The entire job took 3 days.  They had to remove potions of my wood fence and quite a bit of landscaping.  They were able to save a few plants that I wanted and were able to put things back almost exactly the way they found them.  As a bonus, they also removed 5 pieces of cement that used to anchor a swing set that I had just taken down.  The only negative was that after completing the job, several remnants from the crew's morning coffee were visible around the yard.  A lid, several empty creamers and a sugar packet.  Not horrible, though.  I would use N B Enterprises again.

lt went very well.  They left the site looking amazingly nice. They even dug up a large azalea bush with  a large root ball, watered it in the meantime, and replanted it. I believe the digging took two days, the sealing one day, and the filling and topsoil one day. The men who did the job (immigrants from Croatia) worked extremely hard with little rest in the hot sun.
Despite the fact that this company is very busy, they agreed to come within a couple of weeks of the signed contract in order to be done before my neighbor gets his new driveway. We very much appreciated that!

NVB Enterprises overall effort, as outlined above, was outstanding.  NVB personnel, without exception, were very professional and worked very diligently to accomplish their work under challenging cold weather conditions.  There should be no doubt that this job required strong men, augmented with excavation tools.  The team went out of their way to try to clean my parent's basement, once the work was completed.  NVB Enterprise's President, Mr. Nick B, was also kind in paying for inadvertent damages to a gutter assembly, even though the damages were not noticed until 5 months after the job was completed.  If there is one lesson learned, it is important to specify and agree to a completion date for the work.  In this case, the contract was signed in June 2011, but NVB Enterprises elected to adjust its priorities for completing the work.  Consequently, rather than completing the job during the summer, it was not completed until late 4th quarter 2011.  In retrospect, this was not a show stopper; however, it could be for some people, depending on their circumstances.  Other than that, I thought the price was very reasonable, given the scope of the work and degree of difficulty.  Two additional bids were received for the job and NVB Enterprises was the second highest bid.  I have no regrets in contracting with NVB Enterprises, Inc.  Their hard work, professionalism and final product - a restored, waterproofed basement - has earned my highest endorsement.

I used another company for concrete pouring and repair as N B Enterprises covered it with them.  They are the first contractors I have ever had that I actually liked.  They lived up to what they said they were going to do.  They were here when they said they were going to be here.  I would use them again in the future if need be.

I have accepted the bid because my experience has been informative.  He was great and very knowledgeable.  He was glad that I got bids from other people before I went to him because it helped with the price shock.  It's a lot of money, but other companies quoted me $8,000 more.

I decided that I was going to attempt this project on my own. After renting the excavator and excavating one and a half sides of the house, we received a great deal of rain and the hole collapsed. I spent the next several days trying to figure out what to do while the hole continued to erode away the yard resulting in a 10 ft gap between my house and the yard.

I finally conceded (after a near nervous breakdown) and got five estimates. The estimates were all Angie's List companies and all were fair. Nicks estimate wasn't the cheapest, but it also wasn't the most expensive. I decided to use them because of the scope of work included for the price was perfect. I also appreciated Nick's comments and his willingness to help me get through my near disaster. I didn't have the full amount for the work and after talking to Nick we came up with a plan that worked for both of us. It took me a few days to pull the funds from my accounts, but Nick began the work in good faith to ensure my issues got resolved quickly.

After signing the contract, Nick's crew started immediately. They moved quickly to get the major problems resolved that weekend. The remaining week and half they excavated the remainder of the house, installed all new drain tile, all new gutter drains and filled everything in.

The only two items that I am disappointed in would be that the check-flow valve Nick and I had discussed wasn't installed as expected and I did incur some damage to the driveway - possibly due to a sink hole or old drain collapse. Nick did stop back and take a look and indicated he would come back and quote me to fix the concrete when the ground settled. The damage wasn't extensive and should be easily fixed once the ground settles.

We first obtained estimates from 4 Angie's List companies in April 2009 when water was seeping into the basement on two walls in heavy rains. Before making a decision to go ahead, a 5-month loss of employment led to a delay in starting the project. By October 2010 drainage had gotten so bad that water was seeping through cracks in our basement floor after a heavy rain, and we had a half inch of water throughout much of it. It ended up being a blessing we didn't just waterproof two walls in 2009, because all of them had to be done in 2010 due to the severity of the drainage problem.      NB Enterprises was our second choice for a company.  Our first choice was no longer available when we decided to have the work done so late in the season, but they highly supported our choice of NB Enterprises, saying they were familiar with the quality of their work.      Our waterproofing need was complicated by the fact that we had back steps and a railing made out of bricks and sandstone that had shifted, and the bottom step had sunk at least two inches, making a very large step up onto our landing; two posts supported an overhang to the steps. The most severe seepage occurred beneath these steps in a storage area under our basement steps. We looked at the option of having the work done inside instead of outside, but because of the condition of the porch, decided to go ahead with the more expensive route of replacing the drainage tile outside, which involved the demolition of the steps and replacing them with precast.      Nick's crew was very prompt and personable. They took great pride in their work, and went above and beyond what they were required to do. At our request, they reserved the sandstone from our landing and railing, and laid it out with other sandstone we had to make a small patio in our back yard at no extra charge. We thought a rose bush that had very special meaning to us had been lost with the excavation, but afterwards discovered they had set it aside and replanted it when the job was complete without us asking them to preserve it.      Before the work was even completed, the musty smell in our basement was gone. We have had many severe rainstorms since last November, but our basement has remained perfectly dry.

This report is long overdue.  Before selecting a company to waterproof my home, I conducted a fair amount of due diligence.  Nick B, from NB Enterprises, was the most thorough, patience and knowledgeable in structural engineering compared to the others.  His staff was punctual, professional and diligent.   Even after the job was completed, Nick continued to advise me on remedies to other home improvement issues besides water proofing....and at no cost.  He is just a genuinely caring person and is the utmost in customer service.  I'm usually very stingy with compliments and recommendations but if you have a waterproofing need, NB Enterprises is your company.  Pam

The job went very well. Nick and his staff were a pleasure to deal with. I felt involved and informed every step of the way. Nick even talked with my neighbor to reassure and inform him about the work being done on his side of my house. When a job like this is done there is no getting around the fact that there will be a mess involved and temporary disruption to life at home. Nick and his staff did an excellent job at performing the work in a timely fashion while keeping the disruption to an absolute minimum. The workers were on time every day and did a great job of cleaning up after the work was done. They even bound up my old shrubs so I could put them out to the trash which saved me valuable time. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

Nick Bernardi came out for the quote & explained the process. Once hired, everything went according to plan. Nick was there at the start of the job, and checked the progress later in the day. When the problem was found that created water seepage in the basement (unsealed brick with no pointing), he showed me the problem. The job was done by hand because it was next to a walkway with a hedge-row between the walkway and the yard. His crew did an excellent job taking care not to damage the yard, walkway or plantings. Nick personally touched up the paint at the end of the second day when the job was done.
