No service was rendered. I noticed a $59 service fee in the fine print ("Deal does not cover $59 service call fee; additional fee due at time of service") that needed to be paid in addition to what was paid for the coupon. I do not feel I should have to pay an additional fee to be able to utilize the service I paid for already via coupon. If the company feels the need to charge this fee on top of their coupon, then they should just charge more on the face value of the coupon, instead of trying to hide the additional fee in the fine print.

He was early and prompt. They replaced the faucet and fixed a leaking pipe in the basement. They were going to tune up the hot water tank but they said it was out dated. They came back on a separate occasion to replace the tank. My only issue was they didn’t keep me informed of when they were coming out the second day like they did the first time. The deal worked out great.

OK - used a "deal", had no contact from them until I emailed AL.
Will not use again, as they are hour and half from the house. 
AL had responsibility here, I was charged a 60.00 fee of which I was not aware prior to committment.
 
And... (my fault) I didn't have a clue that the cost would be more than the 90.00, that was advertised. 
I don't fault the company as much as I fault AL; perhaps there was something I just didn't read and should have. 
Really upset when I learned the cost was 218 not 90, and that 60 was for the service call.  Yes, they deducted 90. 
So I was credited with 90, (paid 40 for that), and had to pay the difference of 118.  Total cost 158.00 for a 40.00 fixture to be installed I purposefully bought on sale. 
For this reason I won't be using the 200 electrical deals, I'm fixing my own lights in the kitchen .
AL needs to HELP the customer, not just be a routing service for vendors.

Service was not performed because Plumber wanted more funds to replaced faucet and an additional service charge of $59. Apparently, this additional charge is listed in the fine print.

On both occasions that I have used Mayer Plumbing I have found them to be very professional.  They responded to my request for service in a very timely manner.  Both times I found the individuals performing the service to very knowledgeable about both the products and service being provided.  I also found them to be pleasant and friendly.  Additionally,  the cost charged for both services was reasonable based upon industry averages.  I would absolutely use them again and would definitely recommend them.

When I first purchased the Big Deal I received a quick email to schedule an appointment for the next day from 1-4 pm. When it came to 4:45 pm that day with no call, I called them and was told the plumber was running late and would be out in 30-45 minutes. I had plans so that it was too late for him to come. I was not happy. Why don't providers call when they are running late? I could have changed my plans if I had known sooner that he'd be late. We reluctantly rescheduled another appointment for 2 days later. I did receive a call that the tech was on his way. Roger snaked out a slow drain, explained why it was happening, and gave me some good tips for keeping the drain cleaner. I was very pleased with his work. We had purchased a Big Deal from Mayer to apply to this service. However Roger pointed out a better deal that would save us about $100. So I purchased the other deal while he waited. I am requesting a refund from Angie's List for the first deal. I would have rated Mayer an "A" except for their not communicating on the first appointment.

Deal was deceptive. "$40.00 for $90.00 worth of plumbing" did include $60.00 fee for coming to the house. Deal was worthless. Still cost me $100.00 out of pocket for a simple easy job plus the cost of the Angie's list coupon made this an expensive east of my time and money.

The plumber snaked the drain from the kitchen down and from the basement up.  He had to use a mechanical snake after the manual snake did not clear the drain.  After the drain was cleared he replaced all of the plumbing under the sink because many joints were mismatch and leaking.  The plumber was knowledgable about another issue in our home regarding a sewer ejector pump and talked at length with me about how to address the issue in the future.  Mayer Plumbing was very nice to work with and we would use them again.  In fact, my neighbor already used them at my recommendation and she was pleased as well.
