Crew arrived on time on the assigned date. Work was performed quickly and with no delays. 4 days total of work. Minimal inconvenience. I was surprised at how quickly they got the work done and how organized the team was.

Driveway looks great and makes a huge difference in the appearance of the house.  Work went quickly - basically 3.5 days to waterproof and pour.  Basement doesn't smell as damp after rain showers.  Happy with the work.

.Dan provided an estimate for the work while at my house.  After selecting Mardan Cement to do the work, Dan gave an initial guesstimate on timing to do the work.  Since outdoor concrete work is weather dependent, Dan would update me periodically on timing.  Once the date was finalized, Dan and his crew arrived on time and clearly knew what they were doing.  Dan is very much "hands-on"  - he worked with his guys to tear out old patio, replace patio roof supports and installing and finishing the concrete.  All of the crew were professional and the end result looks great!!  Thanks Dan!

My 91 year old house had a 91 year old garage floor which, over time, had cracked in many places and sunk in others...definitely a potential hazard besides being unsightly. Dan and his crew, including his father and young son, arrived on time and immediately went to work. I really wanted to watch but didn't want to annoy or get in the way so once in a while I came out to see what and how they were doing. They are a great team...there is no wasted motion or time as each person does his job. The clean up went as smoothly as the removal and installation. If I were not planning to sell my home, I would be tempted to have them redo my driveway. Dan said the work would take one day and although I was skeptical, he was right.
I can't believe that I could actually love a garage floor..but I love the one that Mardan installed.

I called Mardan cement on July 14 and requested an estimate on a partial driveway replacement. I gave all my information and Dan said he would provide an estimate. I never received and estimate. I waited until the beginning of Aug to write this review.

Everything was completed as promised. No surprises. Big job, weather didn't cooperate for much of the time. Worked around the rainy weather and completed everything as quickly as they could. Very happy with how everything looks.

The first word that describes Dan of Mardan iCement s integrity.  He does what he says he will do.  It is a pleasure to watch his crew pour, float, and finish a concrete floor and driveway.
This is an addendum to a previous review due to the fact that the previous driveway had spalling problems.  Dan was immediately available, showed up to look at the issue, and proceeded to determine that it had to be redone.  And once again, as I have said more than once, he is a man of his word.
On time.  Competent.  Honest.  Straightforward.  Available.  Hard working crew.  Answers questions directly.  Faces issues directly.
What more can I say?  I would most definitely recommend him to the members of this list.

First of all, the replaced driveway sections and sidewalks look perfect.  The new drain directs rain water so much better than the old drain.
Mardan kept us informed daily about whether work could proceed (weather conditions obviously have a major part to play in this decision.)
The work was completed exactly as the contract stipulated.
We were  provided information at the end of the job about how best to keep our new concrete in good condition.
We are very happy with the job as completed by this contractor and feel we definitely got our money's worth.

I got three quotes to replace my driveway and Dan was the only contractor who wanted to meet me on-site to go over options.  All three bids were for approximately the same price but neither of the other two companies even followed-up on their quotes.  Dan stayed in contact over the winter and, once the weather cleared this spring, he and his crew came when promised.  With all the rain we've been having, the job was slowed down a bit but Dan stayed in touch regarding timing.  The new driveway and sidewalk look great.  Dan followed-up with me the the end of the job to make sure I understood what had been done (drains, grading, etc), how to maintain the new surface and to answer any last questions.  Great experience all around.

They were excellent and conscientious. They were not expensive.  This was the second time were using them and they did good work we hire them again. They were on time and they did not fool around. They cleaned up everything and I did not have to do anything.

From start to finish we had a great experience with Mardan Cement. Dan, the owner, did a great job of communicating with us before, during, and after the project. When we first contacted him about coming out to do an estimate, he was honest and advised that due to the volume of work he had and estimates that needed completed it would be approximately a week to two weeks before he could come out. He told me this so there were no misrepresentations or expectations that were not being fulfilled. When he came out to do the estimate he was by far the most thorough and comprehensive of all the concrete contractors that came out to do an estimate. Most of them just spent 10 minutes walking around and then would give me a price on the back of a business card. Dan spent approximately an hour out at my house with about 35 minutes of that doing the estimate. He walked around, measured everything, made suggestions, and took the time to explain everything to us in detail to make sure we understood the who, what, where, why, etc. He also was the only person to actually write a formal, useful estimate for us. Based on this initial contact, we hired him on the spot. As for the project itself we have zero complaints. Everything was done per the contract with nothing left out or us having to call them back for anything. In fact if every contractor we dealt with during our home remodel were like Mardan, our project would have been ten times easier. The one issue we did have, which just occurred recently, was water was pooling in my drive around the new drain. I called Dan on a Sunday morning planning on leaving a message. To my surprise he picked up the phone and when I explained what was occurring he came right out. Dan was able to diagnose and fix the issue within an hour. Personally I was impressed by this simply because not only did he pick up the phone but came out to my house immediately on a Sunday morning to address the issue. Most contractors simply do not offer this kind of service. While I do not have another driveway to do, I am going to be asking Mardan for an estimate on a stamped concrete patio.

He came to the neighborhood area, went over the possibilities with a number of home owners, which fluctuated between our and seven, gave individual quotes, and then waited for our decisions.  Four people signed up.  I acted as the go between.  Dan was straightforward when talking about dates, noting that the weather was a serious factor.  He gave approximate dates, and then as the job became close in time, provided updates so we knew when he would be here.
There are a number of factors that contribute to this evaluation.  They showed up on time.  When they went to work, his crew was in my opinion very efficient, with each man knowing what had to be done.  Granted each person did more than one job, but they always seemed to be doing the right things at the right time.  His crew was friendly, answering questions that we had.  Dan was always ready to provide advice if we asked, but he always pointed out that he would do what he customer wanted.  
The job as completed looks excellent, and surely meets my expectations.  I have not spoken to all the people who had the work done, but the ones that I have talked to are very happy with the work.  So if you review the evaluation factors that are listed at the start of the evaluation, it is my opinion that this company and the people who are part of it deserve the A grade that I gave.

Mardan was fantastic! Dan was prompt about giving us the estimate and accurate about when he could start the work.  Team was efficient and did a great job of tearing out the old driveway and laying the grid for the new one. The cost included labor, materials and permit. When I came home from work and saw the finished driveway, I was surprised because I didn't expect it to be so beautiful! There was a decorative edge and swirls in the concrete that really made it look like more than just a driveway. Sorry we only had them do the back half. When we're ready for the second half or for any other cement needs, we'll definitely call them. Our next door neighbor was so impressed by them that he asked them to replace a few pieces of broken slate walkway while they were here, which they did. So he won over other neighbors too!!

The work was very well done, timely and looks great.  I used this company twenty years ago and was pleased then as now.

This was an awesome experience!!  Mardan Cement Contractors are professional, punctual, organized, easy to work with, worked hard and quickly and provide top notch service.  Dan came out to my house measured and then proceeded to spend a half hour with me explaining everything he was going to do and why.  I asked a few questions here and there, but Dan took care of most of my inquiries by simply explaining.  Since I know zero about concrete this professional courtesy was why I decided to go with Mardan Cement Contractors.  I requested bids from two other companies on Angie's list and neither company spent any real time talking to me as a customer.  
He and his workers spent one day excavating my drive and done by 3:30pm.  There was no standing around and each guy knew exactly what he was supposed to do.  To me it looked like a well oiled machine.  They came in, did the work quickly, and left.  
On the day of the pour, they showed up early for prep, waited for the cement to come, and when it came started hauling concrete.  Again, each guy on the team knew what to do, how to do it, and the driveway was poured by 2:30pm.  That's an insane work ethic for Dan and all of his guys. When everything was done, a few of guys even helped my wife and daughters etch our initals into the freshly poured concrete.  The guy didn't have to, but he spent a few extra minutes to help them.  That made my day!!
My wife, who is never excited about contract work, couldn't stop talking about how good it looked and how hard everyone worked.  I am all smiles!!
If you are looking high quality concrete work that is professional, call Mardan Cement Contractors.  I will hire no one else in the future!

Great experience with this company, would call again. Dan from Mardan was great to work with, provided updates along the way, rerouted a drain pipe for us that came up mid-job, and finished on time, even with weather delays. Great communication; love the driveway and patio.
