Overall it worked pretty well. There were some bumps in the road: they had to take shingles off and drill holes to put in the insulation. They attempted to put the shingles back up without filling the holes; when I asked them about that, they said that they'd put tape over the holes. I called the owner and he said that they should put foam in the holes -- which they did eventually. They also had to make holes on the third floor too, but they didn't use a stud finder. This lead to a lot of holes that we had to patch up later. They tried hard to please, and the end price ended up being less than the estimate.

Overall, it went well although I did all of the finishing work myself to cover the nail heads.  Their solution was to cover the nails with caulk which looked sloppy so I told them to stop and I would just do it myself. If I were to give them a grade for this part of the job only it would be a C-.  If you have a house with wood clapboard siding that you care about, plan to repair it yourself.

Also, one of the workers knocked a hole all the way through the wall into my dining room.  The force of his hammering went through outer sheathing and through the inner lath and plaster.

During the estimate, Bill explained the advantages of the insulation products that he would be installing and their energy saving benefits.  He also emphasized the importance of air sealing especially in basement areas.  And Bill was very familiar with the requirements of Dominion East Ohio's Home Performance/Energy Star Program and the rebates that homeowners can be eligible for.

Once we decided on Kilroy Insulation to do the job, they were able to schedule a date less than a week in advance.  The crew of 3 arrived on schedule, completed the entire job in 5-6 hours, and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards.  And even before the job was complete, Paul from the installation crew had the rebate paperwork all ready for me to sign.  I was pleased when he informed me that Kilroy Insulation would take care of the rest of the rebate application process.

Their quote for this job was very competitive, compared to the estimates I received from other contractors (even before taking the rebates into consideration).  And in addition to the cost, I was very satisfied with the specific products they recommended for our home's insulation needs.

I learned about Kilroy insulation through Dominion Energy's Good Cents Program; which after a home energy audit provides rebates on this type of insulation work (I'm scheduled to get $500 back from the $1230).   Kilroy Insulation was one of three contractors I called for estimates; the owner Bill Kilroy came out to do the estimate.  Though the estimates were comparable, Bill came off as the most knowledgeable.  I really appreciated the thorough job he did walking through both the outside and inside of my house.  His communication and response were professional and timely,  and made me confident they were the right company for the job. 
 His team members Paul and Reggie arrived at my house right on time, and were both great to work with and efficient.   Paul really went the extra mile to explain the work throughout the 2 days at my house.  Very honest and thorough.  The small slopes from my main attic had adequate fiberglass batting, as did my vaulted attic, both were deducted from the estimate.  As I said, very honest.  They did a stellar job cleaning up after themselves . Kilroy is taking care of rebate forms, and the whole process was straightforward.
I do not hesitate in saying that Kilroy is one of the best contractors I've hired to do work in my home.  

I called and asked for an estimate in re-installing insulation, a vapor barrier placed on the underside of my family room.  The insulation was hanging down getting wet and there was no type of board or vapor barrier covering the insulation.
An estimate was given and the work was contracted to be performed.  The start date given was honored and the work was performed.  It was done professional and promptly.  I was quite please with the work performed.  I just wish the old materials were removed completely, but al in all, very good job.
I would hire them again and tell other potential customers about them.

Kilroy Insulation did a wonderful job.  Now that our home is well insulated we have noticed a big difference in how often the air conditioner turns on.  Also noise reduction which we had not expected.  The installers were excellent, making worthwhile suggestions which we followed through with.  Before the installation Kilroy let us know about the First Energy rebate and how much we could expect to receive. After the job was complete they helped fill out and submit the forms that got us the rebate.  I can't praise Kilroy Insulation enough!

This is the second time I have use this company for insulation. The frist time they were wonderful. I was just as please the second time. Bill the owner is very friendly and not pushy, and always return my calles in a timely manner. Also very helpful with the paperwork for the rebate from good cent. I don't like that it takes six week to recieve the rebate. but that not kilroy fault

The whole process was great.  I really appreciated Paul walking me through the Good Sense program and setting me up for a rebate on this work.  During the estimate he walked me through the work that needed to be done, made suggestions on what should be done now vs. later and even pointed out a few items I could take care of myself.
For the insulation, Ryan was fantastic.  He was able to save me some money off of the original estimate and really did a nice job.  There is a huge difference on the second floor of my house (which is where my bedroom is located).  Each day they came in, put down drop cloths, covered my furniture with plastic and vacuumed up at the end of each day.  They walked me through what they would be doing each day and gave me updates and a status at the end of each day.  They were on time (or early) each day!
Over all, I'm very happy with their work.  I would recommend them to anyone needing insulation work done in their home!

We had applied for a city grant for free insulation and when Kilroy's came to estimate the job, it turned out our attic was already properly insulated, which we did not know. He was very honest with us and told us that we should still insulate the stairway, but that it would probably not be worth the minimum price that he had to charge. Nice polite guy.

THE ESTIMATOR APPEARED TO BE COMPLETELY CONFUSED BY OUR HOME'S ROOF LINES AND KNEE WALLS. SAID THAT HE WOULD NEED TO CHECK BACK WITH HIS BOSS IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO PROPERLY ESTIMATE THE JOB. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THIS COMPANY. WHEN A COMPANY DOESN'T HAVE THE COURTESY OR PROFESSIONALISM TO CALL BACK OR OTHERWISE FOLLOW THROUGH IT'S USUALLY A GOOD INDICATION TO AVOID THEM ALTOGETHER.

I WANTED SOMEONE TO REMOVE SIDING FROM HOME AND INSTALL THE INSULATION. THEY WERE ABLE TO REMOVE THE SIDING AND DRILL THE HOLES AND PUT THE SIDING BACK OVER THE HOLES. I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO PLUG THE HOLES FIRST BUT DID NOT. WARNING THIS PROCESS IS VERY MESSY. THE COMPANY DID THE BEST JOB POSSIBLE TO AVOID GETTING THE INSULATION ALL OVER THE YARD.

QUALITY IS VERY IMPORTANT; WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND. THERE ARE A LOT OF SCAMS OUT THERE ON MOLD. FIELD MANAGER TAKES CLASSES ON MOLD. THE PRICE OF THEIR WORK REFLECTS THE QUALITY--YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. THEY ARE ALSO TRAINED IN LEAD AND ASBESTOS REMOVAL. THEY SAVED US FROM HAVING TO LEVEL OUR HOME!
